  1. Yes, man thinks that his God looks like him. Although in Hindu mythology we have a god in the form of creatures like cow and ape.
  2. I think it will be C+KClO3 ---> CO2+KClO
  3. So, perhaps nature loves math.
  4. Suppose there is a series as: [math] a, a+b^2, a+b^2+c^3, a+b^2+c^3+d^4,... [/math] where a is constant and- b=a+k1 c=b+k2 d=c+k3 where- k2=k1+m k3=k2+m Can anyone find the formula to get the nth term of the series?
  5. Its really WoW that our observable world is a World of Wave. Almost all kinds of energy transfer takes place through wave motion. Sound travels in the form of waves through a medium. Light too travels as EM waves. Even pendulum, AC current, simple spring motion are found to be composed of periodic wave motion. This makes me ask why is wave motion so dominant over others? Any thoughts?
  6. For a beginner, I suggest start learning Organic Chemistry from the very basics, like.... Why there is a separate branch of organic chemistry? Functional groups Homologous series Isomerism Nomenclature Hydrocarbons Alkanes, alkenes, alkynes Alcohols Acids And then.... You've grabed the basics.
  7. OK Thanks
  8. If that's the case, then let me ask: Why 1 minute=60 seconds and not 100 seconds ?
  9. I know Java, but not C++. So, out of guess, I think you need to call your functions from main method by the following way. Creating object of main class, initializing instant variables by constructor and then calling method through that object using the dot operator. I do so in Java.....Not sure whether it works in C++.
  10. It's best to start understanding math and science not from the advanced level but from the base. For example, if you want to understand how circuits work, you must not directly jump to read Kirchoff's Circuit Laws, but first you need to clear your concepts of current, potential difference, parallel and series circuits and so on.
  11. The electrochemical series of anions will help you- the lower anions are discharged in preference to the higher anions in the series. This is called selective discharge of ions.
  12. It will be nice if you plot a velocity-time graph for the problem.
  13. Sorry, but I really can't make out what you're talking about.
  14. So, will it be: v=kx/t ?
  15. Instead of separating the two notions of space and time, combine them together and then there is motion.
  16. Hi everybody, We all know that in mathematics, any wave can be thought of as the plot of a circle in the 2D coordinate plane (considering 2D waves only). A wave [math]W[/math] may be represented as: [math]W(x,t)=Acos(kx-\omega t)[/math] Where [math]W(x,t)[/math] is the function of the wave's position [math]x[/math] and time [math]t[/math], which gives the displacement from the x-axis, [math]k[/math] is the wavenumber, [math]\omega[/math] is the angular frequency of the circle; [math]\omega=2\pi f[/math], where [math]f[/math] is the frequency of the wave. Thus the wave [math]W[/math] is a curved line, consisting of points of the form [math](x,Acos(kx-\omega t))[/math] But, I think (and that's my question too) that the position [math]x[/math] and time [math]t[/math] can be represented as functions of the angle of the circle [math]\theta[/math]. Here's how... Let the wave velocity be [math]v[/math]. Then, [math] v=\frac{x}{t}[/math] Or, [math]x=vt[/math] But, [math]v=f\lambda[/math], [math]f[/math] is frequency and [math]\lambda[/math] is the wavelength. So, [math]x=f\lambda t[/math] But, [math]f=\frac{\omega}{2\pi}[/math] So, [math]x=\frac{\omega}{2\pi}\lambda t[/math] But, [math]\omega=\frac{\theta}{t}[/math] So, [math]x=\frac{\theta \lambda}{2\pi}[/math] Similarly, [math] t=\frac{\theta}{\omega}[/math] Am I correct ?
  17. If you wanna make your vessel move by using force field-ish things, you can try the repulsive force of two giant super-powerful magnets.
  18. Thanks Mordred
  19. Our address should be- The Earth, The Solar System, Near the planet Mars, Surrounded by Kuiper Belt, In the Milky Way Galaxy, In the Universe, PIN Code: x,y,z,t
  20. Hi Janus, as far as I can interpret your calculations, it is based on the formula- [math] d' = d\gamma [/math] where d' is the distance measured by the spaceman ans d is the distance measured by the earth-man and [math]\gamma[/math] is the Lorentz factor.
  21. An increase in the strength of a magnet means an increase in the force of attraction and repulsion.
