Hi everyone! I really just joined to ask this question. I would've googled this info but I'm not sure how to word it properly. I'm aware that when a male child is created, they receive an X from the mother and a Y from the father. Because the mother has a double XX - one from her mother and one from her father - I want to know which of those X chromosome the male child would get? Would it be a copy of the X from the maternal grandfather or grandmother? Or it would it be some combination of both? Since the male child can only receive one X from the mother, I'm assuming it has to be one or the other.
