Funny you said that. We visited my nerd buddy few weeks ago at their place for a barbeque and he said the exact same thing.
-
It took quite some time but you have me figured out now - Im a bipolar redneck who poses as a nerd. Or the other way around - difficult to determine for me even.

I rememebr that ST episode and I'm aware of Bugs Bunny doing what you explained. I guess this is a good example of how highly subjective humor is, this is as funny to me as going through spam on a Sunday afternoon.

Is that the joke? Im slow, I still don’t get it.

Okay, I don't get it. What am I missing.

Please don't hate me for this Moon but this seems to me like a complete waste of time. I'm thinking like this...why haven't we seen high resolution photos and videos of UFO's lately? (last 10 or 15 years or so) There are millions uppon millions of people walking around literally everywhere 24/7 on the planet everyday with powerful telephoto lenses with 20 mpixel+ sensors attached to them. We have satellites which can pinpoint meter large objects from orbit, we have GPS to track everything, drones with 4K cameras flying everywhere and thats the tech which you can buy at Aliexpress and 12 year olds are using it every day, milllions uppon millions of people every day - 24/7. It looks to me like UFO's and aliens are real good at avoiding getting caught for the past 10 or 15 years. Ofcourse when radio and primitive radar were the only "state of the art" technologies available, we had UFO sightings everywhere all the time. It looks to me like the little green men are very afraid of the 130 million canon EF lenses sold between 1987-2017 and hundreds of millions of Nikkor's, Sony's and Sigma's

I think its fairly simple, if 5 witnesses describe an event exactly the same in court, theres a very good chance that event went as described by those 5 people. If 5 stoned hippies say they saw a pink unicorn fly by their shack at noon, theres a very good chance it didn’t happen. What Im saying is that eye witnesses can turn out to be legitimate or completely useless sources of information depending on cicrumstances/consequences.

@Moontanman, I’m not sure if I’m shooting accurately here as I only browsed through the thread but you have to realise that you do not go to jail for claiming you saw a UFO. You do however go to jail for a long time for lying under oath in court. People tell all kinds of stories when there are little or none consequences.

Sorry about the downtime -- we're back!

There you go: var d = new Date(); var n = d.getTime();

Here you go: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GH5W6xEeY5U It's just a number. It can be cubed too you know. Touch your nose and then your ancle with your finger. Measure with the other hand with a stopwatch how long it takes you to do that.

I think you might be right. It looks like the OP needs to first understand that an electron and a positron during annihilation produces the same ammount of energy regardless whether it comes from Plutonium 239 or skimmed milk.

Watch the first 4 minutes of this:

Side question - whats is the current resolution we can measure with atomic clocks? Say using your highway example, what is the shortest distance (assuming some speed easy to use for calculations) that we could travel to see the time dillation difference?

I sincerely hope youre right.

I'm afraid Greta could actually cause the opposite in many peoples minds: https://thepeoplesledger.com/renowned-australian-psychologist-is-concerned-for-the-mental-wellness-of-teen-climate-activist-greta-thunberg/ I am reading through various opinions on her speech and people are divided into ones who took it as an emotionally fueled scream for help and ones who saw it as staged emotions with anger rooted in her by adults surrounding her. I'm not convinced what this child is doing will be beneficial to targeting climate change and climate science overall.

I’d be more than happy to give room to Wilde, have a blast you two.

I see what you did there.

Dim I swear the only nerve you hit is with your original post which just makes no f sense.

Okay, its time to explain; ”...action should be judged as of equal importance to the consequense” and ”Punishment for the previously punished? or Revenge for the victims of the previously punished?” stand in contradiction to each other would you agree? So which is it? You seem to be confused with the very core idea of justice and it drives me nuts.
-
Could you skip on the „FFS” as my feelings are hurt and this agression doesn’t do me well in general, thanks. The equall importance part which you wrote is exactly right but this is not what I am asking you to clarify. „action should be judged as of equal importance to the consequense” and everything you wrote in the OP stand in direct contradiction to each other.
-
And btw revenge is not the right word here - "responsibility for own actions" and "consequences" seem a lot more fit. I don't know how I can be more clear.
-
Youre right, I'm not aware of the irony you see in this. I'm trying to find out what youre arguing and this is what you wrote. Since what you wrote is not what I think you mean since you clearly see a false dichotomy in my understanding of your argument, then COULD YOU CLARIFY what you mean?
