I’m far from being an expert on this but when something passes a flying jet right past the cockpit, you wouldn’t see anything with your eyes...unless you used a multiple thousand fps camera which costs a few thousand bucks. I presume the US Navy can’t afford those too to take pictures of the cube encased in a sphere flying around? Im sory Moon but Im just skeptical, theres always zero evidence in these sightings and really, the Navy has every possible existing gadget out there to find that evidence.

I watched the onboard video from the HUD, what puzzles me is that I had once, decent Canon camera gear including an $800 70-200 F/4 L IS telephoto lens. I know, its eight hundred bucks for a camera lens, its so expensive the US navy can’t afford it to take better pictures of UFO’s

Depends on who you ask. Since we are on a scienceforum and evidence counts here I think you know the answer. The „good” guys at reverent dick head headquaters managed to label this site „unsafe” but I really urge you to compare the contents of it to the standard model: http://skepticsannotatedbible.com/

Well ofcourse, my views on this subject are pretty well defined and known here on the forums. I honestly dont get why you think Im deflecting. Let me quickly synthesize what my views are again so we have it over with: if you give money and pray with reverent d head over there, I will call delusion. Thats about it.

Zealous pursuit? Gee Dim, I’m not pursuing anything, it looks like another strawman from you. I think that people who donate money to and pray with a guy like in the interview I posted are delusional hence faith in itself is delusional in many if not most cases (not alwawys, I agree) I think. This has nothing to do with me having the same faith or not, I do not label people delusional just because they believe in something I don’t or have a different opinion from me - 2 strawman in one post Dim, youre going for a record? Edit: @dimreepr, please dont take delusion/faith personally. I think most people are delusioned by something or into something at some point in their life. I’ve been delusioned by my ex wife into believing a reality which didn’t exist, fortunately that delusion is over for me. Theres no shame in this, the shame is in consciously pursuing delusion for profit and doing harm to people by consciously using it - like reverant dickhead does.

Okay so the problem is apparently with me, I fail to understand why you spent all this time in this thread advocating the opposite of what you wrote above.
-
Okay, so you have an issue with using the word delusion in the context o faith, I can understand your concern. I would like to know what word would you rather use to describe the worshipers who donated their money to this guy:

Sense and beauty as a reason is not the same as just beauty.

What instrument do we use to calculate the diameter of rounded object?
koti replied to Rook's topic in Homework Help
If its a regular rounded object like a sphere you just use simple math which you can find on the internet to find its measurements. If the object is round and not regular like an irregular blob of some sort, these days you use a 3D laser to measure its volume/surface...it has no diameter because its irregular. Maybe you mean volume not diameter ? -
That explains your excelent command of keeping your cool in every situation in the forums, your flawless coherency and orderly conduct

Human mind is remarkably moldable, upbringing and the environment it happens in are gigantic factors. I was lucky with the upbringing and not so lucky with the environment...there are people who had luck with both, when asked about faith/religion/god they answer that they never gave it much thought, its just not relevant to them (for example Edward Witten who spent all his life in a scientific environment) Sense and beauty sounds like a very good argument to me.

This sounds like its from a utopian scifi movie/book, they used dates like 2019. Meanwhile, Amazon is worth 994,13 billion today which sounds like its from a b type scifi book too.

For me it was no specific thing, it was a process that took untill I was around 30 years old. In retrospect, I also think that I never believed in God, I just had problems with admitting it to myself and people around me and that changed when I was around 30.

The UK is not Greece and will manage whatever the Brexit outcome will really come to. This weekend in Poland the right wing Law & Justice party got majority of seats in the EU parliament vote. Always critical of the EU Marine Le Pen is on top in France, Italy has euro skeptics come into power too same many other EU countries. The Acta legislation sure didnt help with getting the younger generation onto the EU side, theres a good chance the EU will look a lot differently from what it looks now when it comes to Brexit/no Brexit. I think the EU has no chance of survival in its curent state and the UK, France, Italy and others will probably manage a lot better than us here left for Putin to chew on us (Trump will turn his head quicker than I can say „Huge!”)

Thank you for assigning the straw man to the leave campaigners, frankly my knowledge of the whole brexit thing is fairly limited because we’ve been having our own little nightmare here, Im sure you are more to date on all this. Didn’t know that, seems harsh and I agree with you. Honestly I’m not. Maybe its just my ignorance of the subject. Couple years ago I spoke to my Dad about this broadly, he was doing his PhD in economics at that time (late 70’s early 80’s) and his thesis was related. He layed out the whole story to me from which I can’t remember much right now besides that the Islanders were always outsiders as far as the EU and previously EWG (don’t know the English abreviation for that) is concerned.

They got to vote to join, they joined.

Im sure the British constitution bans slavery and enables women to vote, thats what I mean.
-
I disagree. Your mentioned examples are all regulated by modern laws, certainly by British law. This was not the case when slavery or voting for women were at the table in the US.
-
I don’t think so, you can disagree all you want and the made decision should be held for an agreed and predetermined term. If you start changing that, thats when it starts to no longer be a democracy. Theres also another name for what Im saying - being responsible for your actions.
-
No its not. Democracy is having a collective decision and sticking to it for an agreed and predetermined time frame.

I think that Brexit is a bad idea but your above logic eludes me. Which vote is more valid than the other, the last one, why? Correct me if Im wrong but according to you, they could keep on voting forever without ever reaching an implementable result.
