How did homosexuality evolve?
koti replied to Itoero's topic in Evolution, Morphology and Exobiology
Did you try to free the apes? -
Sounds like they hit the paleontological jackpot with this find, awesome.

"What is the experimental basis of Special Relativity?"
koti replied to ravell's topic in Speculations
So do you have any experimental data on top of your dropbox pdf? -
Living without sacrificing others (food).
koti replied to merinoa's topic in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology
Good point. I red about this years back and forgot about it. Its probably extremely expensive compared to traditional meat plus I can imagine Vegans fighting for the life of the meat cells which didn’t have a chance to mature in the process. -

I would presume there will be methods in the future which will synthesize artificial protein and vitamins and when that happens you could go 100% „vegan” with a clear conscience of not being „cruel” Or you could use the existing science to learn basics of biology, evolution, chemistry which would help you accept your place in nature. You are an omnivorous species which has a diverse diet which depends on factors, geography is one of them. Would you call Eskimo or the meat eating tribes in Africa cruel? In my opinion they are „cruel” exactly to the same extent as any other animal on earth which hunts for food...including my parner when she was 5 months pregnant and was craving beef or me after a 3 hour intense workout on a Friday evening. -
Its worse than that, nature itself prevents us from running empirical experiments confirming string theory. A particle accelerator capable of creating energies needed to run collisions which could confirm string theory would take significant part of the solar system in size and would colapse into a black hole due to its mass.

"White metrics"? Stringy, you're better than this. Realax, no one implied in this thread that I'm racist. Seems perfectly correct. For a statement from someone who claims that pollitical correctness does not exist.

And what is the crux?

Dave Chapelle is genuinly finding it inconvenient to manoeuvre through his routines due to PC crap, he expresses it clearly and thats why he got so much attention because of it. Hes very observant and hes an expert at exploiting whatever is at stake to fuel his trait, that does not render his stance invalid. After all, only the dirty truth is what counts.
-
So what exactly are you finding silly? Dave said it clearly in his routines and there's numerous comments from critics discussing his stance. Is he a "black sheep"? Hell, maybe we should hang him for condemning the current PC culture, what do you think ?
-
You have got to be kidding me. Do you seriously exercize the idea that this movie got rewarded for its merits? It's a piece of crap and it getting awards is a disgrace to cinematography. There is no clearer example of pollitical correctness going too far.

Crude answer is rockets work in space for the same reason as a ball thrown in space will hit you and you will feel it exactly the same as you would feel it on earth. A punch in space would feel exactly the same as a punch on Earth.

Meanwhile „The Black Panther” wins Oscars, „The Orville” gets bashed for not being pollitically correct enough, Dave Chappelle complaints in his routines that he has to manoeuvre the crowd according to f up PC rules to a point hes fed up with the whole standup thing and TenOz is playing the racist victim card on MigL for playing a racist victim card before it was played. Looking at this from a distance is amusing to me.

Can Music hurt to health and brain ?
koti replied to hamidhrt's topic in Anatomy, Physiology and Neuroscience
These Aussie researchers found that listening to extreme music may represent a healthy way of processing anger. "This study found that extreme music fans listen to music when angry to match their anger, and to feel more active and inspired. They also listen to music to regulate sadness and to enhance positive emotions. The results refute the notion that extreme music causes anger but further research is required to replicate these findings in naturalistic social contexts, and to investigate the potential contributions of individual listener variables on this relationship between extreme music listening and anger processing" -
Can Music hurt to health and brain ?

I can't decide what would be more torture - listening to unwanted music playing by neighbours or reading through the links the OP provided. -
This right here is why I like SF, you sir have made my day with your post, this is why I’m coming back here except for the physics section ofcourse and for trolling the crackpots from time to time. Oh shut up Dim. I love you man. Please keep being who you are.

New Wigner experiment suggests "no objective reality"
koti replied to QuantumT's topic in Science News
I haven't red the paper yet but I'm having problems parsing the word "reality" in this context as it can be highly subjective. -
Wow, very accurate for that time. They probably hounded that editor somewhere along.

Pages and pages of poorly writen ridiculous scifi writings which you get to see at OT 7 level of "faith" after you payed them hundreds of thousands of dollars. Then theres slappy Miscavige who runs a corporation based on modern version of slavery (Sea Org), breaking up families by the Scientology disconnection policy and dozens of other examples which put Scientology in a cult bucket. By the way...please cut down on the amount of threads before you get shut down by the mods. Most of the content I see in the last week or two is started by you and frankly, you could use google for most of it.

Wow, that is surprising and amusing. It shows how much were (I'm) unprepared to process even simple geometry inside my head without the use of tools like Math. Not to mention raw processing of more complex geometries of GR or higher dimensions.

After WWI Germans were left decimated with no clear goal, vulnerable to potent NSDAP propaganda and prone to ideological brain washing which promissed them greatness while people had barely food on the table. There is no stronger motivator than a well delivered ideology at the right time. You’re right that turds tend to creep back into peoples minds, we just have to be careful to look out for them all around us not only from one direction.

Populist propaganda and slowly administered anesthesia to evil of the late 20’s and early 30’s which led Hitler to power has nothing on the way things are going right now... some day a Shamima Begum of this world will become the next Hitler or Stalin (a smarter one that is) Imagine having practically infinite powers socially and being immune to any consequences of your actions, someone who will be manipulative, intelligent and evil enough can make use of this.
