  1. Since you were 21 you say, Im stuck here all my life with a brief 3 years in the US. Youve seen my posts so you know my position on things, I just stopped talking to most people both live and online, I started to choose more carefuly how I spend my time (I guess Im on my way to becoming a recluse) Morons are kryptonite for me and that is something I’m working on to overcome, no matter how hard I try the excersizes keep coming in almost every day. I’m just gonna skip the „better than people who don’t believe in anything” part, lets not make this lounge chat into a religious thread. The Cern/dark energy thing you mention is just about in the same ball park as 200km to the stars and Oligocene water being holy. My friend dumped her before it became anything serious btw...I kind of regret not meeting her, there seems to be a masochistic part to me.
  2. So a friend of mine who owns and runs a couple of local pharmacies got divorced recently. We have sit downs from time to time to exchange knowledge - I give him some physics, he gives me chemistry/biology. He's back on the dating market, he recently (hes 44) met a girl (35) at some party, they ended up on his porch watching the stars on a stary night. She inquired that the stars look so beautiful but they're probably very far away - like 200km far away. She also asked him what is Oligocen water (theres a lot of wells here, everybody knows/uses them), weather it is called "Oligocen" because its holy water or maybe something else. The end.
  3. I'm sure @Ten oz will be thrilled to give you a long and thorough examination of all the Trump's success stories since he became POTUS
  4. Right. So as long as we approach this using two inertial frames and the symmetry is broken which is the only correct way to approach it, there is no paradox. „Twins age differently due to how the universe works” would be a better name for this implication of SR.
  5. I wasn’t aware of multiple meanings of the concept of paradox. I was convinced it always involves self contradiction which the „twin paradox” clearly lacks.
  6. I fail to see a paradox in the twin paradox. There are no contradictions and everything is logical as long as you apply SR correctly using 2 seperate inertial frames. It's annoying that a case which is perfectly logical, consistent and holds no contradictions is called a paradox.
  7. You need to listen to this Moon:
  8. For me it depends on where I am and for how log. If I spend 5 or 6 weeks speaking English only I definitely start thinking in English, I think it might be even after a week or 10 days or so. It changes back to my native language when I go back, I don’t even keep track of this, even writing this Im thinking in English but the next minute I’ll be thinking in the other language. I think.
  9. Looks nice and compact. As for the visual experiment I would try to show the scales to „wow” the attendants.
  10. I don’t share your humour. If you think its worth pursuing you should go at it.
  11. So we went to the "Equality Parade" here today downtown Warsaw with our 2 year old. 30C mid day, a very nice combination of various political/LGBT movements forming a great party like function with trucks playing music, body painted attractive people dancing, etc. Our 2 year old decided that he's going to take charge of the whole thing. He especially wanted to go up dancing with all the girls in bikinis and boys with six packs in one of the trucks...his hysteria stopped one of the trucks and one of the dancer girls had to come down to calm him down which ofcourse didn't work out. So we had a fight me and and my girl and we left pissed all three of us walking with the stroller to the car. Family life is such a blessing.

Bad luck man, hope it’s better now.

i worked in Poland for a while - Kozalin - not so pretty but I really liked the people. Plus, the beautiful Baltic coast was only 10 minutes away. :)

Haha I love the real talks. People who pretend that there are never small problems in family life make me heave.

But I am sure you have a great family and you need a rainy day to appreciate the sunny ones. Keep fighting the good fight Koti.

  12. I think you need to concentrate on bulding a prototype and after a series of tests it will turn out if it will be more efficient. I assure you, you will come across issues which you have not accounted for when working with a prototype.
  13. North Korea are behind firewalls so you can post it here safely.
  14. I will add to Eise’s post that the red color in your pictures is caused by the evening sun warm color temperature (you will have the same edffect just after the sunrise as well) The sunset/sunrise color temperature is about 2000K which is very a pleasant warm color. The „color temperature” concept comes from objects heated up and glowing - emitting a certain color of light depending on the temperature, like a steel rod will glow when heated different colors depending on the temperature. Heres a list of common sunlight temperetures depending on the angle at which the sunlight hits the earth at different times of the day: Source: https://www.eizo.com/library/basics/color_temperature_on_an_LCD_monitor/

    What is faith?

Save your strenght for yourself and the Missus Moon.

    What is faith?

No it doesn’t, read the rules.
  17. Or being a c.
  18. I’m not convinved that the unification whether it will be some version of string theory or some other version of quantum gravity, has to be necessarily the „theory of everything”
  19. But you do distinguish between affectionate cursing between men and racial rants by racists?
  20. What about the time when my black buddy accidently refered to me per „Nigga” when we were kids? Is that acceptable you think?
  21. Exactly.
  22. Anti-vax march in Warsaw here today, looks like 30 thousand or more are there. Curious that the scum of the earth is associated with them and seem to live a symbiotic life - nazi preachers, agressive conspiracy theorists, extreme right preachers, etc. If I Firefighters should fill their trucks with hydrogen peroxide and use it on the protesters, scary to walk into town today.

Yep, they’re concerned about a few thousand imigrants from Syria which never came but they’re blind to raping the Constitution by the the puppet president, taking control over the High Court by the ruling party and destroying the media both TV and Radio by putting their people everywhere who preach propaganda which Kim Jong Un would be proud of. Did I mention alienating EU and the rest of the world and moving towards Putin’s „open arms” and glorifying Rydzyk who is a catholic priest in the richest 100 in Poland. His pupils from his „media school” are hired in all media stations controlled by the government, in fact there is nothing more to fuck up...except maybe not vaccinating everybody so we can all have ourselves a nice pandemic.

I agree with you on all points. The only thing that saddens me is your attitude (or what I think is your attitude) about this.

No country is perfect and yes, those are all valid points but don't be so grim. I am an expat (ex-pet?) living here for the last 6 years and to be honest I have not experienced discrimination. Quite the opposite. People were always interested because I was a polar bear.  Poland is cool koti. Don't loose hope!

Sure, Im a pessimist. Im sure if I were born in Denmark I’d be complaining too... about how outrageous lack of free root canal procedure is ;)

  23. Interesting. I hope this is not another loose cable like in Cern a few years ago. Is this sterile neutrino predicted anywhere? It looks like the standard model might go into pieces if this turns out correct, exciting.
  24. I think it is crucial that you consult the MRI results with a qualified doctor or two. This is your child’s health, the internet is the worst place to look for advice. My completely uneducated and unqualified opinion is that your childs behaviour might not have anything to do with brain damage of any sort, it might be purely psychological. Children have hissy fits especially at that age (I have a 25 month son) and you need to look into steering him towards feeling as safe and loved as possible at this young age. Theres a good chance he will start behaving better if you follow this advice. Please note Im not commenting on the MRI results, thats MD’s job, Im just commenting as a fellow parent.
