Its also worth mentioning that from the remaining 50% about 10% are primal indigenous religions out of which many are far more „controversial” than kissing Hank’s ass.
-
That is a wonderfully practical piece of logic. Whenever Galileo comes up, I feel a responsibility to mention a great cosmologist, mathematician and free thinker - Giordano Bruno who proposed that stars are distant suns with their own exoplanets and that the universe might be infinite. He was tried for heresy by the inqusition and died a horrible death of burning at the stake in 1600.
-
Sure...but kissing Hanks ass pertains to ~50% of all faiths (Christianity and Islam) so its only logical to point out the process.
-
That’s some profound Saturday evening wisdom right there.

The „theory” you mention cannot be true if it predicts velocities of massive objects greater than c.
-
Do you have any evidence that this engine is something other than pseudoscientific crap?
-
You can’t travel at light speed.
-
Your speed of sound example is correct. However its a bit different with light, nothing massive can reach the speed of light plus the speed of light is invariant as opposed to the speed of sound. So no, the sound example you gave cannot be used for light. Edit: Cross posted with Strange.

Unless you do a few passes and throw the screwdriver away. Then you will keep on rotating.
-
Strange...Im picturing you performing fast body movements in zero gravity. On a serious note, it sounds interesting, I will save that article and read later.

I wonder if its possible to join hands behind your back in a space suit. Assuming it is, its a great idea...a few hundred gram tool could actually do the job.

I did have to use some emotions to come up with it but we seem to share a similar view so thats a good thing in this case isn’t it?

There is a religion section (this one) on this site but you misinterpret it for a place in which you can spread your beliefs in. The reason I am part of these SCIENCE forums is not to have to deal with people who spread the „warmth” and „kindness” of any belief system, I have enough of that in my every day life. I respect you as a person and I do not deny you of the benefits that you think your religion is giving you. Why do you not respect a group of people (me included) who gather at a small place on the internet to discuss science and instead you preach and then pretend that youre not? The OP states „how to turn a believer” and instead of adresing it, your last post was: ”We can't change God the creator of all that is seen and unseen, just because we worship seemingly different gods. The same God hears all our prayers despite our differences. We have a duty to care for all of God's creation; and that has to mean caring for each other despite our differences” which is proselytising at its finest. Are you pretending or are you genuinly not aware that you are preaching?

That is interesting. The universe would have to have a frame of reference to which it would be spinning in relation to. If somehow we would establish that frame, I guess we could treat the astronauts rotation in realtion to the universe the same way as to any other object he’d be inside. But then again, the spacetime rotation is something I never thought about, first thing which comes to my mind is a reference frame but how can you have one.

Thats Matt Dillahaunty as Hank’s ass kisser. I always enjoyed his talks.

RCS is fuel based propulsion used in spcecraft, the one in space suits is compressed gas based propulsion: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Astronaut_propulsion_unit

You could take your helmet off and use it as leverage to start spinning.

Google „f block elements color properties” it should get you on track. I had a spectrophotometer guy selling some products at my work some years ago have a vial of Holmium oxide. Aparently it is used in spectrophotometers, it was beautiful to look at. Try different types of lighting on it.
-
Holmium oxide color change depends on the type of light it is exposed to. In LED light it will appear yellowish, in fluorescent light it will appear more orange or pink. I don’t know the exact reason for it but it has to do with the light absorbtion properties and not with a chemical reaction over time. I’ve heard that other elements from the F block in the periodic table hold some interesting light absorbtion properties.

Since most people like to laugh at and ridicule what they hate, comedians take advantage of this. The good ones add irony, satire like you note. The best ones are able to swerve around controversial issues without commiting a faux-pas but constantly walk the line.
-
The government bought these here too but they forgot they can’t be used. And as far as I know they never were. Instead we could have bought some spare parts for the F16’s which we bought from the US and they’re falling apart.

Mr Bean (or even Rowan Atkinson) is taking a political stance with this sketch. One that is strictly against UK 80’s right wing racism and xenophobia. Its actually funny how he makes fun of racists in this sketch. I guess you could laugh at the words coming out of his mouth without understanding the context nor the meaning of the jokes but that would be pathetic.
