I remember being told, some years ago, that here in the UK because so many clocks run directly off the mains frequency any deviation over a period of time is corrected by raising or lowering it to bring the clocks back to the correct time. What puzzles me is, how do they know you are card counting? Do they have trained mindreaders?

The gambling dens (aka casinos) set the cheating precedent by rigging the rules to ensure the house always wins over time. They have the smarts, the punters are dumb. The only reason gambling is legal is because of the huge tax take. So if the punter retaliates by trying to even the odds, how is it cheating? Let us just call it tax avoidence if you are squeamish. The whole betting and gaming industry is a scam. The casinos have not a shred of moral justification for their activities, so how can they bleat about the poor mug punter cheating? It is the punter that needs the protection, if only from himself.

As I remember, it is for several reasons: The wagging tails knock things off tables, (so tails are inconvenient). They get dirty. Questions: (a) The bridge flexes/moves. The movement is used to generate useful energy. The movement of the bridge is reduced, ultimately to an extent where the bridge becomes a rigid structure. So 1, where then is the movement that generates useful power? 2, How much of the movement can be used before the bridge becomes effectively rigid? (b) Generating power from river or tidal flow restricts the flow, so 1, the more power you take out, the less flow remains to generate power. 2, Who compensates the upstream flood victims inundated because the river does not now drain? Crackpots who want to restrict the flow of, say, the Missisippi and Thames should beware threatened citizen lynch mobs!

It resets the on-cartridge chip that stores ink volume info. Your cartridge may not need a resetter, it can be done manually, but it looks fiddly..... Try here for a method for type 56 cartridges...... http://www.stratitec.com/inkrefill/support/inkreset2.php

this site gives good "how to" instructions for hp type 56 cartridges, troubleshooting. Dont know if your cartridge needs a chip resetter, it is not mentioned. Do more googling on "hp type 56 refilling" http://www.oddparts.com/ink/hp56.htm Good luck.

Did you also run several recharging/cleaning cycles to refill the tube from tank to printhead? When all fails, you may have to spend money on a chip resetter, bad luck. Refilling different cartridges is more art and practice than science. Very frustrating and mucky! Manufacturers want it to be as difficult as possible. Their profit.

If you did not already know, because the cartridge has an internal sponge, it takes time for the new ink to "revive" the empty dry sponge. It may take a day to soak through properly. I have found that gently pressurising the cartridge through the filling hole by mouth or air-filled syringe can speed up the process. Don't expect this cartridge to work immediately.

To attempt an answer, it is essential to know printer model and cartridge number. Normally if the cartridge is empty, the printer firmware and software knows, and prevents any printing activity. If the printer attempts to print but no ink goes to the paper, it may may even be that the fresh ink is not getting to the printhead. often, simple refilling is not sufficient, and a "priming" procedure is required. All printers and cartridges require different refilling regimes, in my experience. My present printer is an HP930c, and the 42ml black cartridge is on its 10th refill. I think there are only two basic types of ink, dye and pigment. The dye should always work, but the print quality and colour fastness will vary.
