Hello,
I'm starting to study the quark model and I was trying to understand the patterns of the octet and decimet of baryons (when plotting the hypercharge and 3-component of isospin).
In the octet of 1/2+ baryons we may find the particles Sigma^0 and Lambda^0, as while looking at the decimet of 3/2+ baryons we find Sigma*^0, the three of them as a result of coupling the u, d and s quark.
These three particles have (T: isospin, j: spin):
Lambda^0 -> T = 0, j = 1/2
Sigma^0 - > T = 1, j = 1/2
Sigma*^0 -> T = 1, j = 3/2
My question is Why there isn't a X particle with T = 0 and j = 3/2 (with the same quantum numbers as the rest of the decimet).
Thank you
