  1. In terms of logistics, this seems like a massive security failing by police and secret service. The guy was only 1200 feet away and multiple witnesses pointed him out to police before the actual attack. Unfortunately 10% of Americans support the use of violence against Trump, according to a recent poll. So with so many firearms available, this kind of thing is increasingly likely. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/article/2024/jul/13/trump-rally-shooting-political-violence
  2. In my view it's one of two culprits: A "lone wolf" political extremist A foreign agent acting in a plot to further destabilize the United States
  3. And more so if he loses. This is the usual elitest DNC strategy that has played out ad nauseum that everyone is sick of.
  4. That's plausible. At this stage it looks like the Dems are working to isolate the President: donors pulling out, congressional leaders refusing to endorse him and openly calling for his withdrawal, his closest allies (Nancy Pelosi, Obama, Clooney) subtly or overtly suggesting he shouldn't run. Will be interesting to see how long he continues as this isolation increases.
  5. Not in the slightest. A debate with the most overprotective rules in US history, where the opponents mic is cut, and with a measly two minute first answer and 1 minute rebuttal time. So that tells you they were desperately trying to control the playing field and keep Biden's exposure to a minimum. That debate was a far cry from Obama / Romney or even Clinton / Trump in 2016.
  6. We're both human: you're also susceptible to the same confirmation bias that Biden is completely fine. Regarding disclosure, the Biden's have zero interest in disclosing the real state of the President's health. This is the most damaging aspect of their dishonest strategy. We'll see what happens with his candidacy. If he remains the nominee, I believe we'll be all be invited to a screening of "Donny Dangerous: Part 2" in November.
  7. The biggest saboteur at this point is Biden himself. If you want to beat Trump, we need someone who can appeal to independent voters. He's still losing every single swing state, as of 3 hours ago. Is that a "winning" candidate? Don't be ludicrous. Nice mental gymnastics. Too bad you'll miss the Paris olympics this time around. The notion that Biden may have Parkinson's is in no way an "extraordinary claim", as numerous medical professionals have attested to at this point, no to mention the senior staff of his inner circle who have come forward and said he's not competent to continue.
  8. Exactly. Unfortunately the perception now amongst voters is that Biden and his administration are lying about his condition, which is only exacerbating matters for Democrats. The onus is on Biden at this point to prove he's fit for office.
  9. He gave his professional opinion based on all the symptoms Biden is demonstrating. Rigid motor control Neurological difficulty Hypophonia (low / soft speech - resulting from a lack of coordination in the vocal musculature) Masked Face (lack of facial expressions) Tremors Basically as clear cut a diagnosis as there could be.
  10. Compelling interview here with Dr. Tom Pitts, a board certified neurologist who specializes in diagnosing Parkinsons. He basically says Biden is a textbook case.
  11. Well, like I said, A) it's none of your business, and B.) it's irrelevant to the debate we're having. I presented data from 12 polls from different media outlets that show evidence that Trump is now winning, and you want to engage in ad-hom deflections instead of presenting a strong counter argument to the facts. Kind of sums up what's wrong with the Democratic party writ-large actually.
  12. The right move for him, that's for sure. Law low and let all the negative attention be on the Dems. I don't see how facts are propaganda. If anything, this idea that Biden is somehow the strongest candidate we have is the propaganda. Orwellian to say the least. Who I vote for is none of your business. I've made it clear in previous posts who I think is the stronger candidate.
  13. In 2020 Biden was +9 over Trump going into the election, and Biden barely won in 2020. Now Biden is losing to Trump in practically every poll, he's down by 3-6 points in nearly every battleground state. He needs to mount a massive comeback if he wants to beat Trump, which he can't do because of his age. The DNC will continue to keep him sequestered away behind closed doors as much as possible. Looks like we know who's going to replace Biden after all: Donald Trump. https://www.realclearpolling.com/polls/president/general/2024/trump-vs-biden It's also highly likely we'll lose the Senate and House as well. Once the DNC locks in Biden as the official candidate at the convention, Republicans are going to run ads in every congressional race with the Democratic candidate next to Biden. Biden will drag down the entire party.
  14. The donors are all jumping ship now too. Can't seen Biden continuing with empty coffers.
  15. It's over, guys. Biden is withdrawing. My prediction, anyway.
  16. Better late than never. The fact is, quite a few in the media were raising questions about Biden's mental state over a year ago, but were shouted down with the same objections we're seeing here. Those to blame are the corrupt DNC and those around Biden who sought to shield his decline from the public eye for their own personal gain. I disagree that it's too late. Trump remains deeply unpopular outside of his MAGA base. If you think Biden is really the best candidate the Dems have to offer, we've got much bigger problems. Unfortunately, "Blue MAGA" seems to have arisen in the Democratic party. A contrived attempt at "unity" won't capture independents unfortunately, which is what we need to win. People have to actually believe Biden is the best man for the job, which he clearly demonstrated that he isn't. It's questionable that he'll be able to do the job in 1-2 years, given his age.
  17. Ok, I'll keep em' coming. This one's from the BBC, based on a recent CBS News/YouGov poll. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/crgln3jx47go A CBS News/YouGov poll released on Sunday (June 30th) indicated that 72% of registered voters believe the president does not have the mental and cognitive health to serve as president - a sharp increase from the 65% who said the same in an earlier poll. Forty-nine percent of voters said the same of former President Donald Trump. Particularly alarming for the Biden campaign, 45% of registered Democrats who responded to the poll said they believe the president should step aside for another candidate. And you want to roll the dice based on these numbers? You're a heck of a gambler.
  18. China is in demographic free fall, so I doubt it.
  19. Just stating facts. It's amongst swing state voters, but still. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2024/06/26/biden-trump-swing-state-poll-democracy/
  20. Seems like the the DNC has played the "best of two evils" card ad nauseum at this point. People are tired of it. A recent poll showed that a majority of Americans don't even believe Trump is the bigger threat to democracy compared to Biden. The DNC's machiavellian talking points are all used up.
  21. No agenda other than to keep Trump out of the White House. Frankly, it seems like you're using the agenda trope as a convenient deflection from a very uncomfortable reality, one that requires a very difficult reconciliation and choice. That, or you have a personal bias that favors Joe Biden and is obscuring objective analysis. The idea that Trump will withdraw, or that Democrats can influence him to withdraw, is wishful thinking and will never happen. We should only seek to control what we can.
  22. This idea that Biden just "had a bad debate" is a delusional understatement. Did anyone making that statement actually watch the debate on Thursday, or clips of it? Biden couldn't finish half of his sentences. When he wasn't struggling to conclude a basic thought he looked confused and bewildered. Should we be really surprised that an 81 year old has these issues? It's not too late for the DNC to replace him. The deadline for doing so would be in August. The NYT Editorial board and other media outlets have officially called for him to step down. https://www.nytimes.com/2024/06/28/opinion/biden-election-debate-trump.html From that Article: As it stands, the president is engaged in a reckless gamble. There are Democratic leaders better equipped to present clear, compelling and energetic alternatives to a second Trump presidency. There is no reason for the party to risk the stability and security of the country by forcing voters to choose between Mr. Trump’s deficiencies and those of Mr. Biden. It’s too big a bet to simply hope Americans will overlook or discount Mr. Biden’s age and infirmity that they see with their own eyes. Supporters of the president are already explaining away Thursday’s debate as one data point compared with three years of accomplishments. But the president’s performance cannot be written off as a bad night or blamed on a supposed cold, because it affirmed concerns that have been mounting for months or even years. At this point it is woefully unlikely that Biden will be back in office come November. Frankly, I don't think he deserves to be given his cognitive state. The Dems can pick literally anybody else and have a much better chance at victory. Yes, I think its fairly obvious which is why the media, other world leaders, and medical professionals are calling it out. Whether or not the empirical evidence is conclusive is somewhat irrelevant here; this is a presidential election: perception is reality. On Thursday night the American public saw a man who looks like he deserves to be in a retirement home under 24 hour care, not the leader of the free world.
  23. Ok, so with last night's debate over, and Joe Biden's cognitive impairment on full display for the world, finally a consensus amongst establishment Democrats is forming that he's got to step down to avoid a catastrophic defeat in November. So the question becomes, who should replace him? I think Gavin Newsom or Gretchen Whitmer would be likely candidates, although I'd personally prefer Bernie Sanders, but we all know the corrupt DNC won't let that happen. What do you think? Will the Dems mobilise to replace Biden or will they let him take us all down with him? If they do plan to replace him, who should be put forward?
  24. @ImplicitDemands Do you live in a city or small town? How densely populated is the area where you live?
