  1. Is there a diagram any of you are aware of that displays the duality of matter, in other words, the ability for matter to be a particle and a wave at the same time? TIA
  2. Optimal pool pH is 7.2-7.8, ideally 7.4-7.6.
  3. What is a word that is analogous to parable or allegory but for a phrase instead of a story? In other words, what word would describe a phrase, or even a word, that conveys a moral principle?
  4. I have a year experience in swimming pool stores and I assure you that chlorine and pH can read low at the same time. While it is not ideal to swim when your pH is low, I think you will be OK (assume it is at 7-7.2) I would not swim if it is lower than 7.
  5. Would there be an Earth (or universe for that matter) if we weren't here to observe it?
  6. I'm 20 and was originally drawn into science by Capra's "The Tao of Physics." I am a student at a local community college and will be transfering to the University of Houston this summer. I have been trying to narrow down my decision on a major and have run through the options of kinesiology, botany, geology, enviornmental science, and gentics. Now I have decided that it would probably be best to major in biology and narrow it down in graduate school. I look forward to learning a lot.
  7. Scott, Read the story of Gilgamesh. That should clear up your ideas of Noah's flood. In regards to time travel, how is it physically possible to visit an event that has already happened. I have virtually no physics background but I have read "The Tao of Physics" and Capra explains that everything happens in frame like order (imagine a slide show.) I am having a tough time expressing this idea but how could you visit a "frame" that has already passed?
  8. I would think that has more to do with the difference in philosophy/culture of the east and west. The thought of the east seems to respect those (nature) that are greater than man while the west seems to try and conquer those greater than man.
