I first heard it muttered on Fox news. They covered it on friday's episode of the Daily Show.

Mostly usability... little "wish you could do" things which never seem to work right, or just bad design decisions from a usability perspective. They look ok... then you start installing more applications only to discover lots of interface dissimilarities depending on which toolkit was used. Was it Xaw? Xlib? GTK? Qt? GNUStep? They all look different... Can you plug in a firewire DV cam and dump the contents into a non-linear video editor?

I think it's funny how what a brilliant strategic move dropping the VP decision right after the DNC to steal Obama's thunder belies what a bizarre decision Palin was for VP. Perhaps what's even weirder is a new talking point being used to promote her: she has foreign policy experience because Alaska is next to Russia. Zuh? It's like the brilliant Rovian political machinery folded back on itself and imploded...

Maybe if it's a server. The GUI just doesn't compare, nor do the available applications.

Let me just say... having been there, the weather was beautiful.

If nothing else, the OS is higher quality

I love Macs, but YMMV...

I don't think I'm the one who has the problem with those...

Palin was involved in little more than city government until 2006. She only has 2 years of experience as a state executive. Obama has 7 years of experience at the state level and 4 years at the national level.

Could you point out exactly which statements were "bullshit distortions worthy of stoners at the smoke hole"?
-
Umm, it's more like I expect there to be a certain degree of error in any speech of this nature. You apparently expect it to be perfect.
-
Yeah I kind of acknowledged that in my post... Obama isn't out there claiming what he did was legal
-
Let's wait for the fact check on the McCain speech to get a baseline, shall we?
-
Are you saying every one of those errors is an intentional deception, i.e. a lie? ...yet you don't think Bush intentionally deceived America, i.e. lied. *facepalm* you're only a liar if you're a Democrat, I guess
-
7 factual errors in a one hour speech, some of which are just nitpicking? I don't think that's too shabby... it will be interesting to compare to the factual errors that are bound to be present in McCain's acceptance speech.

Oh boy, she's a cdesign proponentsist too. Can't say that's terribly surprising. And apparently she's under investigation for some reverse-nepotism. Apparently she fired Alaska's Public Safety Commissioner because he wouldn't fire her ex-brother-in-law.

She smoked pot! That might make it weird to broach the issue with Obama. http://reason.com/blog/show/128450.html What? She seems to think that state law trumps federal law? I think it's arguable that the Controlled Substances Act usurps powers which should be a state's rights issue, but unless that's actually settled by the Supreme Court she was still breaking federal law.

We're up to our eyeballs in debt (currently $9.64 TRILLION), but our last three Republican presidents didn't seem to care and pursued rampant deficit spending. I don't suspect McCain will be different.

Vote for Obama Bi(n La)den! UPDATE: Looks like Faux News finally picked up on it: COINCIDENCE???
-
From Pangloss's response I think he wants us to pretend the DNC isn't happening

You may as well ask me if I forgot which party started the Civil War. Is that really relevant? Is Lyndon Johnson representative of Obama? Okay? What's your point? The goals of PNAC, Bush, Cheney, Wolfowitz, and Rove are certainly clear in 20/20 hindsight. Are you saying I simply don't know enough about Obama to suggest that he's probably not going to pursue a totalitarian power grab and constantly be hounding Congress for more executive power in the same way Bush did? I really think it's safe to assume he won't... but if you want to keep pursing this "How do you KNOW Obama isn't the same as Bush?" angle... go for it.

Yeah, they look like undercover Republicans: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6UxxhYa8K0s I like how they're there to spread a bunch of Swift Boat-esque BS, and how easily the reporter manages to weasel the real story out of them. I have a 17 page report! I'll be glad to e-mail it to you... the Ann Coulter approach to spreading lies. I also enjoyed how sober the response from Obama's supporters were. I mean, the first lady basically paints them as religious bigots, but she does it in such a nice grandma baking you chocolate chip cookies kinda way it doesn't even seem spiteful. And the girl at the end is awesome...
-
Okay, lumping Obama in with Lyndon Johnson aside... I fully expect Obama to take a different direction on things like constantly pressuring Congress for more executive power and the right to spy on innocent Americans. Do you not think the Bush Administration has done this to an unprecented degree?

The language is still some 9 years old... Yes, but you really have to take that with a grain of salt, especially considering this: Yeah, nobody wants to use a language in the ML family... except Aeternus

WMV11 or RealMedia? What A Choice!
