  1. It's meant to read "South 20 degrees East."
  2. I'm really stuck on this physics problem: A plane is flying at 130 mph, on a course S 20 E. The wind is blowing 30 mph due east. What is the final speed and direction? I know to begin with finding the plane in mph going North and East, but I'm confused on whether to use sin, cos, or tan. I'm also stuck on what to do next after that? It would be much appreciated if anyone could please explain what steps to take. Thanks!!
  3. Thanks!!!
  4. Hi! I'm confused about which Hydrogen on the aspirin structure ionizes to make aspirin a monoprotic acid? Thanks!!!
  5. Thanks, but what equation should I use for the 1st problem?? And if I'm using the Ideal Gas equation for the 2nd one, what am I solving for?
  6. 60 L of a gas were collected over water when the barometer read 670mmHg, and the temp. was 20C. The pressure of H2O vapor at 20C is 17.5 mmHg. What volume would the dry gas occupy at standard conditions? I used the rearranged equation: V2=T2xP1xV1/t1xP2 and got 2329.5 L. Is that correct??Any help would be appreciated. Also, what gas equation is to be used to answer this problem: N2 occupies a volume of 600mL at 60C and 650mmHg of pressure. What will the volume be at STP??

  8. I'm in the process of choosing my (high scchool) junior year classes, and I'm unsure about whether I should take Physics I HN junior or senior year. I've took Bio I and Chem I during my freshman and sophmore year, and I know colleges really look at your junior year. I'm taking GT/HN in other subjects also and i'm afraid it will be too much to handle, esp. w/ physics. In case I don't do well in Physics, I'm considering about taking Bio II AP, and then physics senior year. Any advice?? Thanks in advance
  9. Is NaCl and AgN3 non-volatile because of its non-polar molecular structure, also? Much appreciated for help.
  10. Ammonia is a gas??
  11. Thanks!
  12. Is there a way to delete a post or thread I've started? Thanks
  13. Why is ammonia volatile? Also, why is silver nitrate AgNO3 and sodium chloride NaCl non-volatile? I also don't understand the relationship between the volatile nature of a solid and the boiling point elevation? Much appreciated for help
