Thanks insane_alien, that's helped alot.

I've just been studying converting carbon dioxide to carbon monoxide, by heating carbon through a current of CO2. What I can't understand is how reducing the ratio of oxygen to carbon, somehow makes a deadly gas. Sorry is this is a stupid question. I can't remember hardly any chemistry I learnt at school, and I've only just started studying the subject again over the last couple of days.

I've been writing music since the age of 9, and I never understood artists being put on a pedestal and kids (and adults) being completely obsessed with one or a couple of acts...they write music, end of. So many acts (albeit pioneered a new sound) have had their whole persona just blown out of all proportion, to the point where everything they do, is some how a statement. All they are doing is just making good of a situation i.e enjoying themselves. Of course there are a lot of artists that exploit this media attention, and I have nothing to say to these people...you are a musician, not a demi-god.

As most of you probably know, surfaces on the atomic scale are not smooth, so if two bodies are brought together there will be tiny gaps. Water can condense and fill these gaps using the technique below. So for practical purposes water can now be used as a 'safe' glue. http://www.newscientist.com/blog/technology/2006/05/freezing-water-at-room-temperature.html

A couple of SciAm articles that may be worth discussing
Royston replied to Martin's topic in Modern and Theoretical Physics
Sorry 5614' date=' I missed this...but yeah (despite my confusing response) you did answer my question. Remind me to steer clear of your research, when you become a top physicist. -
Everynight...I'm pretty energy conscious. I'll see if there's any updates / patches that may remedy the problem. Thanks for the response !

I realise I don't have to watch her...but it makes me more tolerant of others. She is like the bench mark of what I consider s**t, so if I ever get wound up by someone...I stop, think about Trisha Goddard, and it puts things in perspective. I guess I can thank her for that...actually no, she deserves no thanks, no job, no nothing. I guess it's what Phi for All said, I secretly enjoy waiting for her to say some inane obvious crap so I can hurl abuse at the tele.

Well, I guess she isn't that bad...NOT!

If you're having a particularly bad day, what better than to have a rant about a celebrity you hate. Lets have no holding back here, it's completely understandable that there are some incredibly well paid people, who incite violent tendencies on even the strictest pacifist. I shall begin with my number one...I should actually sue this person for raising my blood pressure to critical levels every time I see her stupid mule like face, giving advice to a bunch of retards, because it takes a selection of Britains most idiotic to make her look vaguely intelligent. She seems to think if you speak in a posh middles class accent, it somehow equates you to a genius, OMFG, it doesn't Trisha Goddard. (Trisha hosts a show similar to Jerry Springer...but it's not staged.) The rage that I feel when this awful, awful person even opens her mouth...infact just the sight of her makes me want to cause damage to myself, infact just writing her name makes me feel dirty...I'm gonna be compusively washing my hands and keyboard for the next week now. Yeah thanks Trish, yet another reason why you are quite possibly the most terrible thing to walk the planet...and yes you are a thing, you certainly don't deserve the title 'person' you are an abomination, and you must be stopped ! 'Hate' some people say, is a strong word...WRONG, it's perfectly fitting, and doesn't even come close to what I feel about Trisha (arrgggh feel so...dirty) Goddard. Infact hate was stuck in the dictionary when she was born...if you look at the definition of 'hate' in the dictionary...it says 'an emotion felt by an observer of television presenter, Trisha Goddard.' I can't tell you what I'd like to do to this...thing, because it's so graphic and so disturbing I even wonder about my own mentallity, she quite literally drives me insane. There is no fitting end for this pitiful excuse for a human being, she really is the epitemy of s**te.

I've tried it on a couple of occasions...it's bland and watery.

Well that puts a stop to that theory. I'm sure I'll be learning lorentz transformations next year...more education, less pseudo-babble, well lets hope so anyway.

This is one of those ideas you think of when you're drunk, and go 'that's it!' then wake up the next day and go...errr how the crap would that work, and why is it needed. Anyway, what I was thinking, if you have conservation of mass and energy, why not conservation of time, seeing as time has an intrinsic relationship with matter et.c Our arrow of time is perceived due to entropy...disorder, but what if there was a second arrow of time pulling back to create order. The asymmetry would be in the favour of our perception of time...but the second arrow creates a state so there isn't complete chaos. This is the kooky bit...consciousness is trying to attain order. Through the *evolution of our universe consciousness is an underlying algorithm that is fighting to create order...high energy chatoic states to uniform states. It's an intrinsic property of the universe as are the forces, and the geometry of space-time. So consciousness is the opposite of entropy. As disorder continues we, through our knowledge, understanding and technology, will eventually break the assymetry to a perfect uniformed state. But as the two states of order and disorder have to be conserved for anything to exist, disorder will be realised and the whole thing starts over again. La la la la laaa, I've posted stuff along these lines before...I was trying to think of it in the context of entropy. *not to be confused with Darwins theory of evolution, it's the only word I could think of.

Happy Birthday AzurePhoenix ! I thought I'd get you a mug filled with toe and fingernail clippings, with 'ID Rocks' printed in bold letters on the side...why? Because you seem your happiest when you're angry.

Royston replied to Martin's topic in Modern and Theoretical Physics
Sorry I was being lazy...didn't read till the end of the article. It's a lot clearer now. Dammit, I wish I'd stop asking questions on topics I won't be able to get my head round until I've finished my degree I come across as a right doofus.
