  1. Doesn't have to be in any particular order, but what are your top 5 favourite TV comedy shows... To date mine are : Brass Eye (Chris Morris taking satire to the extreme.) actually I'm going to have Chris Morris as one choice because 'Jam', and 'Day to Day' are also up there. Family Guy, The Thick of It, Blackadder (I used to love the second series in my younger days.) and The Simpsons.
  2. You could send an E-mail to the suppliers, they may know where you can get (uncrushed) guarana seeds.
  3. Yeah, apologies Rebiu.
  4. When you say everyone sounds like a 'chipmunk' do you mean the pitch of the voices is high (as though they've been sucking helium) or as Insane Alien has suggested, that it's just lacking bass.
  5. For some reason the link comes up with a URL error when I try to access it, if anyone's having the same problem here's another link... http://news.scotsman.com/scitech.cfm?id=16902006
  6. I know this is off topic...but we were over charged for an energy bill by about £ 100...roughly $ 170. Instead of getting a refund the money was taken off the next bill...in three months time. Surely the energy supplier is gaining interest off this money...isn't it wrong to use the customer as a means to gain revenue, by holding money that's rightfully there's ? Maybe the money is held in a suspense account...anybody know ?
  7. That's the most likely, I remember this resin that was shipped over in petrol tankers called 'diesel'...that can't be good for you, it was really cheap...not that I'd know about that kinda thing.
  8. Then God would be a hipocrite if masturbation was a sin.
  9. Roughly £44 a month for gas and electric...£ 130.00 quarterly. Works out at around $ 75 a month. 3 bedroom house with 3 adults.
  10. Then Albert Hoffman would of never invented LSD ! What if everyone said exactly the right thing, all the time ?
  11. Then Remington would cash-in on the 'strap-on hygenic clipper.' What if scientists figured out 'all this' was made for you ?
  12. That's not really the excepted view...there's plenty of discussion on the big bang on SFN, see what the physics experts have to say.
  13. Apologies Bascule, I misinterpreted what you meant here...I took the phrase at face value when you were actually referring to Einsteins 'legacy' if you will, which means something entirely different to what I thought you meant. I guess I got a little lost in the context of the thread somewhere...doh!
  14. If your saying there's something beyond causality then your contradicting what you say next...existence that's independant of a physical background may as well be infinite...but I agree infinites are a cop out when dealing with causality.
  15. This is precisely my point...time should not be considered linear when we're dealing with events building up to asymmetry. The inflation period (the transition from a unified force, to the 4 forces we know today...and the resultant expansion) is non-isolated and as space / matter and time are intrisic (you can't have one without the other) then time should be approached in the same way i.e non-linear. I need to explain my thoughts a little clearer, so I'll be sure to post more on the subject in due course.

    aliens?

    When there's proof.
  17. I agree with Padren to the extent that there's something (for want of a better word) that exists outside time to remedy a loop that obeys cause and effect. I can't help but think there's a clue within entropy though...with reference to an arxiv article I posted recently, where there's high entropy, there maybe low entropy fields within our universe. What I mean is if asymmetry could begin through the inflation period the same to could happen with time...time could quite possibly annihilate itself until something kick started space-time.
  18. I was wondering what their homelife might be like...there certainly wouldn't be any arguments about who was washing the dishes, or who prepared the meals at an evening, but I think 'Cindy' hogging the bath tub all the time could become an issue. 'Cindy'...I agree with Phi for All, that really is a despicable name for a dolphin.
  19. Not to be confused with a dot.
  20. I realise biomedical ethics is quite a serious topic, but I found this today...I particularly like the line 'I'm not a pervert' http://www.underwatertimes.com/news.php?article_id=81091306425 Eilat, Israel (December 29, 2005 ) Till death do us part? An unusual wedding ceremony was held in the southern resort town of Eilat on Wednesday, as Sharon Tendler, a 41-years-old Jewish millionaire from London married her beloved Cindy, a 35-years-old dolphin, Israel's leading newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported Thursday.
  21. Agreed, relativity predicts the big bang and a singularity...the transition between the two is where theories like loop quantum gravity come into play. The singularity is just not feasible...so something has to happen between space-time collapse and space-time inflation.
  22. Johnnie Walker Red label is really meant for mixing, probably why it tastes of methanol to you, anyway I found this in wiki... Johnnie Walker Red Label - a premium blend of grain whisky and malt whisky, it is the best selling whisky made by Johnnie Walker and the only one marketed with mixing in mind. Prior to 1909 it was branded as Extra Special Old Highland Whisky.
  23. A Merry (belated) Christmas, and a very Happy New Year to all SFN'ers. I wonder what discoveries and revelations 2006 has to hold.
  24. Thanks for the support everyone ! I forgot to mention it was an OU course, so it's not really that big a deal (getting in), but I scraped in due to my finances and such. All I know is that a diploma is equivalent to half a BA...I think I'll get 'dip phys' after my name. As their recognised in nearly all academic institutions it means I'll be in good stead to study towards a BSc in a more specific field full time. I just regret not realizing my passion for the subject when I was younger...I was constantly told I was an artist. Still no time like the present...I'm off to a letting agents now as we've find an ideal house already.
