Which Diabetics? (where I am from there are no sweet potatoes growing) Also we should think of providing diabetics better treatment and insulin before sweet potatoes. (Just because they aren't unhealthy as previously thought doesn't mean that they are the cure that diabetics needed).

You members that are US citizens of course know much better and see the effects of his presidency on your daily lives. That's why I made my first post. I just wanted to understand and to express my view which was not based on facts(I don't live there so Trump-related news impacts me less so I am not so educated on the matter). I never said that the criticisms against him are fallacious. But I just felt like the opinions were: F you and F your decisions. And not just F your decisions; if you can understand that metaphor. The way that you guys replied to my post with arguments and facts and not from a place of emotion, made me understand and change my initial opinion. Thank you

I pick no sides in your most recent election and I find Trump to be a bad influence on your state but with that said, I feel like a lot of opinions about his decisions are ad hominem. Parades also sounds like a waste of money to me especially in these times but I just cant picture so much press attention and negativity if Hilary Clinton won and proposed such a parade. This is just a matter of opinion but it seems to me like you have reached a point where nothing he does could be right. It's just cool (on this forum especially) these days to diss Trump and you have to be vocal about how much you hate him... If he would make a decision to temporarily cease any parades during his presidency because they are costly we would see posts about not honoring the proud US military and destroying the US image. This is just an objective observation on this and other similar posts based on trump's decisions. I am not a US citizen and have no experience in politics but maybe you will accept an honest opinion from the outside.

Uhmm.... you have a point but I want to say if it's ethical to introduce ourselves in a new environment and "contaminate" it. Like introducing feral pigs in Australia is causing problems (there are many examples of such cases). If OP's fictional planet "perfect for and compatible with earth life" it might already has some sort of life.

I know absolutely nothing from the insides of this decision but I am sure that if a person was objectively not right for a job of such high level and was pulled out, the frustration and thoughts in your head would be to get it back no matter the costs. Racism is unacceptable but I am just saying that this could be a race card thing. I know I would use any argument to reach some goals and dreams. If it was racism she wouldn't have gotten there in the first place. It might not be an objective opinion as I am affected by white male bear privilege so I don't really know what this woman is going through. They might have something personal against her but I don't think race is a factor in this story.

I would say even a few thousand years are still ok. As long as those few thousands have acceptable living conditions. 100 years ago we were using horses and carriages. Technology went a long way and I'm sure it will continue going. Even if for the sake of robbing the planet of resources and it still makes sense. The population of Earth2.0 should know though and evacuate before the catastrophic event. (wouldn't mind being a memebr of this colony. The fact that my grandX10 kids might boil to death wouldn't be on my mind that often.) This is just my personal opinion. My ethics might need adjusting though.

What about the possibility that it happened around the same time in different locations? Like Strange mentioned convergent evolution. Maybe that was the organism adapting as well as it could to it's environment. A dolphin is a mammal, a Tuna is a fish and a Besanosaurus was a reptile. They are not closely related yet they all have fins. Would it make sense for me to declare without a shred of doubt that they all have the same fin carrying ancestor? #FinsOnlyHappenedOnce!
