"Computer Science" is NOT the same as "programming"! Even today, Computer Scientists spend their time determing what a program should do, then turn it over to (less educated and less paid) workers who use programs that will then do the "programming".

Specified Reality and truths perspective
Country Boy replied to Randolpin's topic in General Philosophy
Actually, every philosopher/scientitst asks those questions. Though I think the word "designed" has implications you did not intend. -
Amateur question about classical physics - escape velocity
Country Boy replied to MJJ's topic in Classical Physics
If you assume atmosphere and that you craft has wings like an airplane, then you can use that lift to get higher. Then calculate the "escape velocity" from that higher level. -
Found among the wreckage? Ice melts!

Your question assumes the universe has an edge! Can you prove that?

Are we now considering a "lavatory wall" as a primary source of physics knowledge? Will there be a thread on that fellow from Nantucket?

I think you are misunderstanding what "Many Worlds interpretation" means! It does not mean "parallel universes".

Light does decelerate and accelerate when it goes from vacuum to an occupied volume. One interesting result of that is "Cherenkov radiation".

Does what test work? You say you want to do a test but don't say what test!

Glasses to see other light in the light spectrum possible?
Country Boy replied to mad_scientist's topic in The Lounge
There already are such "glasses"- surely you have heard of "dark glasses" that allow people to "see" infra-red. What they do is convert light in the infra-red spectrum to the visible spectrum. -
Ratio help, cant figure this out for some reason
Country Boy replied to robertk1997's topic in Homework Help
With 25000 mg of binder and 250 mg of active ingredient you have a total of 25250 mg of mixture. The active ingredient is 250/25250= 0.0099 or 0.99% of the mixture. To find the amount of mixture that contains 3 mg of active ingredient, solve 0.0099x= 3 for x. x= 3/.0099= 303 mg. -
Sorry but I can't read that. (And I certainly don't see anything to do with "circles". Those look like triangles.)

No. Any magnetic field extends "infinitely" though there will be points beyond which the field is too weak to be measured. If that is what you mean, you would have to say what that level is.

Is there a way to make ball joints not make noise?
Country Boy replied to SFNQuestions's topic in Engineering
Our joints are also covered with flesh that damps out any noise. Though, personally, my joints now make plenty of noise! I suspect this is an age related thing. -
A simple classical physics / algebra question
Country Boy replied to Mandlbaur's topic in Speculations
The answer to your original question, "if a= bc and we change c, will a change" is "not necessarily", for two reasons: 1) If b= 0, bc= 0 no matter what c is. 2) It is possible that b might change also so that bc stay equal to a. Now you are asking "is it possible to conserve angular momentum if we change the radius. Again the answer is "yes, it I possible" again for two reasons: 1) if there is no motion, the angular momentum is 0 no matter what the radius is. 2) If we increase or decrease the radius, we could also decrease or increase the angular velocity so that the angular momentum stays the same. -
How did all life become developed by the big bang?
Country Boy replied to EmmaWhat's topic in Astronomy and Cosmology
Life did not appear on the earth, in fact, the earth itself was not created, until billions of years after the "big bang". It makes no sense at all to say that the "big bang" caused life or that life "developed" from the big bang. -
The word is "repel", not "repeal". I do not know what you mean by "cancel" here. It is true that if you have a positive and a negative charge together then, from a great distance, they will appear to have cancelled. But that is not true close up.
-
If you really mean "charge" and not "change", then count up the number of protons and electrons in the carbon and oxygen ions.
-
I presume you mean "1/2 of a wavelength", not "12 of a wavelength". It is difficult to read your handwritten portion but it appears that you are told what the amplitude is. To find the wavelength, and then the frequency, you would need to be told the distance between crests but I do not see that on what you have.

SR and, especially, GR require that space exist. They do not require that it be "made of" anything.

What does "stable" mean here?
