Sorry my mistake, they were saying it was a drill about to occur/then a drill occurring then next you thing you know its a full blown bomb attack on the news lol But one more thing, sometimes you got to sift through the obvious sht and find the gems. Yeah possibly but its hard when you are just one person or small no name group with a view point (and a good view point at times) going against big corporations/media and government and bigger powers in general that control the flow of information and what most people think. The censoring of this stuff doesn't help. I think the fact that when it happened, the bombing, I was a teen when it happened and there were videos out the next day showings deleted tweets saying it was a drill that was happening. That pretty much made me a believer, that is pretty clear solid evidence.

People obtain information illegally and spread to the public. Do you side with the whistle-blower or not and why? People like Edward Snowden and Julian Assange

Ok sorry about that. But on topic about conspiracy theories. What else can you do but interpret evidence given by media (and if you look for anything else where it may be you get called a law breaker for whistle blowing)? Solid evidence can't really be attained if the conspiracy is possibly true and there are higher powers like the government that orchestrate everything so that people remain not informed of the truth/reality of events. I am talking about false flag operations mostly when it comes to conspiracy theories (like mass shootings, or bombings). I seen some YouTube videos that had "interpretations of evidence" to what may have actually happened and why before YouTube started mass censoring them. Some officials even posted messages sent to public (I think it was on twitter) saying that before the bombing occurred on social media saying it was a "false flag" that was going to occur/occurring (multiple messages after) but seemed to be removed from a google search (damn they are good at censoring now days). Other kinds of evidence showed interpreting human behaviour and made viewers question why certain people did certain things in video footage (I think you would wonder too if you saw). Solid evidence is a simple mans desires but trying to connect the dots with what is given and viewing things in different light with what is given takes some open mindedness. Now we got all these censors (and they censored out allot of stuff) with people just complaining about about mainstream problems that is kind of pointless about times. Maybe conspiracies are pointless to but "what if". Seems like conspiracy theories are just simply made to look like nut jobs with how they censor out all the good decent ones and leave little to nothing left. I get why people just coming in would look at them like they are nut jobs but its simply questioning and a search for truth.

Recently bought some 10 x 42 binoculars to have a little gaze around my neighbourhood and I already have a multimeter to test out voltage in my house and in batteries. What are some other fun not to pricey gadgets that are fun to have around? I was also thinking of getting some night vision goggles...

Well we can't always rely on what is given to us directly for facts right? Because it could be twisted truths or outright lies. If the source of everyone's facts is major new corps then how do we know when they are lying or not? How do we question it? Which is what I think conspiracy theories aim to do (most of the time).

To question what the news and media tell us and to investigate ourselves what may or may not be true. I use to watch conspiracy theories on YouTube as a kid and some seemed real 'out there' but others seemed some what legit based on evidence they examined and provided. Now I just recently read that YouTube started removing these conspiracy theory videos for some reason... do you think that is a good idea (all I see is what the major media companies have to say)? Don't you think we should have different opinions out there and stop putting an imagine on the world "conspiracy theories" to mean "crazy/tin-foil hat/nuts" but instead to mean a voicing of opinions. And you got to bare with what they provide because I guess it isn't easy have different theories of your own when all you have is what may not be truth by what is presented to us from major news/media companies... Blah blah blah, what you think fellow humans.

I remember reading a small physics book on light and Einstein when I was a young boy which was pretty much where it all started. Then I went to high school learnt about basics of electromagnetism and thats when I was most passionate. I read up on Nikola Tesla about his inventions such as the AC motor and fell into the trap of wanting to know more about "free energy" that Nikola Tesla may have done work on and that kind of spiritual mix of science stuff as well . Then I got psychosis and stuck on antipsychotics which make me feel like a zombie. And that's my story. What's yours

I am wondering what do you think about physical torture being used on criminals. Would painful torture as a punishment scare people away from committing crimes? Why would it be a good or bad idea to torture criminals as punishment.

What limits the human body to running above 9 seconds and/or not even faster? I once saw a documentary about ancient aboriginals who lived in Australia, some guy said based on the footprints left behind he said that the aboriginal could run faster than Usain Bolt. Makes me wonder about whether people out there could exist that are faster than Usain Bolt or more generally what kind of people are hidden away that have hidden talents. But basically my question at the top! Thanks in advance Can't edit my answer for some reason, just has a small blank box that doesn't open bigger with my original post. Reason for edit: I mean running faster than 9 seconds for the 100m sprint. Woops I edited by mistake I re read and my initial post was correct. Excuse me 😛

Well as a Christian I believe there is purpose. If I wasn't a Christian there could still be possibility of purpose we don't know (since we don't know everything about the universe like whether Aliens exist or if there are things that exist that we cannot observe like God that could explain our purpose) about so I wouldn't be set on "no purpose" just yet. But back to my question. Based on our physiology, what is our intended use for our bodies. We can't handle extreme temperatures for example so we don't live on/in lava which means that not what our bodies are intended for. We have fingers so are our hands intended to do complex tasks (what complex tasks exactly?). I was also wondering if swaying away from our evolutionary intentions for our bodies is reason why we have so much health issues in the world. Back and body pains from sitting at desks not being active, obesity from too much sugar and chemicals in our food etc. Seems like a burst in the timeline from advancing tech has left us in bad condition.

I am wondering what is the purpose of humans based on how we evolved to be. What does the design of our bodies say about what we are meant to be doing with our lives. What age are we meant to live up to? Also we break up humans into ethnic groups, I am wondering have some of these ethnic groups evolved to do something better than other ethnic groups due to genetic mutation/have ethnic groups evolved differently to have certain attributes about them. One last question is how does genetics shape our personality?

Use to frequent scienceforums (on an old acc i Can't remember) in the past and it was much more lively from what i remember. seems like new members just get negged out to the ban list and the same old farts just pointlessly argue the same old stuff lol... maybe if the forums made some changes/improvements things would do well.

Sometimes I wonder what the future will be like maybe 1000 years from now. How different it will be, what people will have discovered, etc maybe an even more accessible space

Most antipsychotics have a list of common side effects that is given. And judging by all the negative reviews all over the internet on the medication I am using it seems like people are experiencing the same side effects. Though it does say on the official information page that other than common side effects there are side effects unique to each individual. Also kind of weird is that 'feeling like a sedated zombie" doesn't come under their list of common side effects but plenty of reviews online from actual users that say that is how they feel (doesn't list anything that is synonym for sedated).

I don't really mean contemplating whether a hole or space exists. I am asking more like WHAT IS existence. Does that still need context because I am talking about the word pretty much and how humans define 'existence'. So that is why I say existence is what we can observe and say that is 'it' existing.
-
I thought about it a little. Existence requires an observer, to say something exists means to say 'I observe it', it starts out with what we observe with our senses and saying "that exists/I can observe it" then people say the same about thoughts that they observe. I don't know maybe too simplistic but am I going to read a 1000 page book written by a philosopher that could be utterly wrong and looked to deep into. No.

About the universe, ideas, people, the world etc

What if the people who make antipsychotic medication actually injected it into themselves to see how bad the side effects are and then maybe they would think twice about releasing it to the public. I see a bunch of 90 year old men discussing on YouTube the medication I'm taking and all they have to say from their old wrinkly asses is how good it is for people and the comments and google reviews BY PEOPLE WHO ACTUALLY TAKE IT SO UNDERSTAND have nothing but bad things to say. What's even a bigger joke is the way they diagnose psychosis which is basically by asking you a bunch of questions that you say yes or no to. A lot of room to just make mistakes and misdiagnose and next thing you know you got a perfectly fine human feeling like sedated zombie on antipsychotics. I know people probably have good intentions when it comes to making these things (though I do here how drug industry are like everyone elSe and want to profit ) but how come can you aim to cure mental problems with things that seem to leave you even worse. You don't have to be some educated doctor to see that .

Just a simple philosophical question about the definition of existence. I was wondering maybe the answer is: existence is a concept stemming from the human mind. But that if that is right then that could be said of all things we try to define in this world. Maybe objective reality existence, things that we observe that we would think existed if our bodies didn't (so the the world/universe around us). What does it mean for me to exist, or this apple I have to exist?
-
What does it mean for something to exist? Does it even make sense to define 'non-existence'?

Does absolute measurement only exist in the mind?

I was told that the speed of light is not measured quantity but a defined quantity. I don't get how you can just define the speed of light without some type of physical measurement? -

What about with matter and light. Fundamental stuff of our so called reality. Like trying to measure speed of light or the size or mass of a sub atomic particle. Why and how is that always whole integers if infinite precision is impossible.
