Gene Rodenberry, HG Wells, and many other authors, directors, movie producers, have always held the dream of faster than light travel. Now science has caught up with scifi perhaps we can get on with real science and design the first warp drive. I no I'm doing this backwards, but hi guys, new kid on the block

I may have posted these pictures before, I've been away for a while busy getting married and everything. But here's my represebtation of what a deep spacecraft may look like in the next 200 years. I do have a lot more image on the drawing boars which I will be rolling out soon.

Do we really eat spiders in our sleep? [ANSWERED: NO!]

My ex girfreind used to sleep with her mouth open, bit like the hanger deck of the new Enterprise. -
I was watching a really interesting documentary last night on the Discovery Channel entitled ‘Aircraft That Never Flew’ They were going on about a US government research project into Nuclear powered bombers, set up in the 1940s. Unfortunately they couldn’t solve the problem of shielding the crew against radiation so the program was abandoned. It got me thinking about what I designed, and suggested the theory of nuclear powered engines on spacecraft. I wonder if the US government did abandon the project, or did they pursue a classified research project, it’s certainly a plausible thought. Atomic powered aircraft

Have you a facebook account?

I was in the US in 1995, and called everyone 'mate' so most Yanks thought I was Australian. lol

Any chance you could e-mail me an MP3 sample to have a listen to, I might be able to tell you what region it sounds like. Is it just the English accents you are after, as in England, or is it the whole of the UK, England Scotland, Wales, Ireland. There are some very distinct differences between them. 'example' every knows what Scotty sounds like of Star Trek, its kind of like listening to two Americans, one having a strong New York accent and the other one being from Alabama.

You won’t get a much bigger story than this over the weekend. I can just about remember when the news that Elvis had died. Back in 1977 you didn’t have the mass media and communication that you have today, news was practically drip fed to the various news agencies. Last night I couldn’t believe the speed at which this story was flashed around the world; it was out literally within ten minutes of his passing. I think everyone has criticized his style of living over the last twenty years I know I have, and the media vilified him during the child sex allegations. However all that aside you cannot deny the genius when it came to his music, I still think today that Thriller has the best dance sequence performed on a pop video ever. There will be an outpouring of grief by his fans that will equal Diana I think. RIP: MJ and that chick from Charlie’s Angels

Ok first of all I’M BRITISH, but I’m not much of a patriot so it’s no big deal. I just want to ask what exactly do you mean by the ‘British Accent’ do you mean the way in which the Queen speaks, with an upper class tone ‘Ps and Qs’ or perhaps Hugh Grant. There’s a belief out there particularly state side that us Brits all sound the same. I myself am Welsh, I have a Welsh accent but it’s not an extreme one I do try to speak with an upper class tone, but it’s mainly to sound clear to others. My opinion on the British accent is there is no such thing, because Britain like America is split into many parts so therefore you have regional accents, Yorkshire, Herefordshire, Devonshire etc. May I suggest you watch an episode of Frasier, the woman on there Daphne has a Northern accent, almost Yorkshire, then watch Lord of the Rings, Sean Austin’s character Sam has more of a West Country accent perhaps with a bit of Herefordshire mixed in. I’ve been out to America, and you have many diverse accents from state to state, I’d say Obama’s accent is the closet you will find the standard ‘American Accent.

Still a lot of conflicting news stories about, its yet to be officially announced.

Can you show me where? That would not only be news to me but it also seems quite impossible. A digital camera takes images using CCDs which are designed to record optical images. A radio telescope is, by definition, an instrument that receives radio signals. A CCD cannot read radio signals. Here's the link here, I may have been wrong in using the term digital camera, sorry. http://www.space.com/businesstechnology/051221_pan-starrs.html ‘Sisyphus’ asked why ten of these deep space radio telescopes, effective you would only need one, if its far enough out without any objects to block its view then it could scan most of the sky. However ten of these telescopes in a circle at the outer edges of our solar system could individually more sky, or if one telescope picks up something of interest it could communicate with the others, which could focus on the object in question and relay the information back to earth. As for what could be passing through our solar system which could warrant and early warning system is anyone’s guess, take your pick.

I was wondering do we have a space based early warning system for tracking asteroids. I know that they have radio telescopes equipped with high powered digital cameras which scan the skies for danger, but how do they compensate for atmosphere distortion with these cameras. I’m currently working on my latest idea, a deep space radio telescope. There are a few uses for this deep space radio telescope. To Track objects entering our solar system, to determine if they’re a threat. To peer deeper into the cosmos, monitor background radiation. To relay communication with any deep space vessels, thus preventing signal degradation. You could position up to ten of these tracking station ant various point in our solar system, beyond the orbit of Neptune as an early warning system. Just a crazy idea of course.

3D studio Max, and bryce for the background.

Hey Guys, Thanks for the comments.

Hello this is my very first post here, so I thought I would play it safe and put this subject in Pseudoscience and Speculations. Anyway, I like to design stuff particualrly spacecraft. I designed this particular space ship several years ago. I would just like to ask the question; given how conventional space travel is progressing do you think it would be possible to build a ship capable of travelling fast enought to explore our solar system within a ten year mission scedule. And is it plausable that such a ship could be designed and built within the next 50 to 75 years. Hope you find the images I have designed interesting. Many thanks JC
