ah yes i forgot about that.
stop using the damn title box to convey information that should be in the body of your post.
the title should give a 1 sentence summary of the jist of your post and nothing more.
merging posts doesn't edit out anything. it just appends them to the previous post.
if you don't want posts merged then either post it all in the one post(like your supposed to) or use the 'edit post' button but you should leave some indicator that you appended something to the post as it has a chance of disrupting the flow of the conversation if you don't.
polling reflects opinion, not fact. that sends the message that either answer could be correct depending on how many people agree with it. this tends not to be the case in reality where it is entirely possible for an idea to be flat out wrong(although that won't stop people thinking it is correct).
just ecause its hollowed out doesn't mean its a hoax, just means its been dead a while and its insides have rotted/been eaten.
crabs aren't solid shells you know.
the largest man made explosion happened in russia. google 'tsar bomba' about twice as powerful as anything the US cranked out with the potential to be double what it was tested at.
general relativity sort of breaks at sub atomic levels, but the gravitational attraction is miniscule, it is the electrostatic attraction that counts.
but yes, it is the extra mass of the nucleus that keeps it in the center.
well, the main executeable is usually pretty small. maybe a few megabytes. then there are all the .dlls and other modules that don't need to be active all the time etc.
actually, we don't suck up anything. we pump water DOWN. this has been explained many many times.
and it actually uses less energy than yours as you have to deal with the friction of the chain and the fact that the weight of oil on the uptake is not balance by anything on the downtake.
not to mention your idea doesn't do anything to increase the amount of extractable oil at all.
current pumping systems could go down thousands of miles (if you ignore the impracticalities of drilling in liquid rock) and if the ground was a million miles thick we could still pump from there with the same efficiency as now.
quit your trolling.
and it still won't expand the liftime of an oil field.
especially not to 'billions of years'.
using a chain pump you have to expend more energy to bring up the same amount of oil.
i know enough to know how much i don't know. some pretty large gaps in my knowledge but i like to think i have a good grasp of the basics of most areas.
well if you are only wanting the one cell then yes, it'd be copper/paper/zinc (or zinc/paper/copper) but for a pile and to get useful voltages you typically want more than one cell.
so you stick a bunch of them end to end.
yes, that is true. but we've already been able to do something similar for millenia(at least).
its very easy to transfer thoughts from one mind to another. its called talking. using an implant would be the same thing. i was under the impression that the topic being discussed here was more to do with direct brain to brain communication without the need for modifying the brains structure.
all natural selection does is remove organisms that are not fit for the environment.
it filters out bad genes. there is no goal, there is no purpose, it just is.
nahiyan it works fin with salt water. thats what i used for my first voltaic pile.
just have wire, copper coin, soaked paper, nickel coin, copper coin, soaked paper ...<insert arbitrary number of repetitions here>... soaked paper, nickel coin, wire.
you could make it about the size of a garbage can. but you won't get compactness with rewnewable energy sources due to the power requirements.
unless you count biodiesel as a renewable source. because if you do then you can use the garbage can sized heater for it.
we have explained to you why this isn't worth it as we can extract all the oil from an oil well very very efficiently. this would not do it efficiently.
infact the only use case for this type of pump would be 1 scoop a week or less.
thats the point, nature doesn't know or care about whether we are overpopulating or not. its got as much to do with over population as the price of cheese in cheshire.
