yes, but they are impractical for the ISS as they are too weak. they would only serve to slow down the orbital decay but not prevent it. perhaps they will be retrofitted one day.
-
it actually raises the ISS by a few tens of kilometers. though this is surprisingly easy to do. and it can be done with a long slow burn. if you were on board you probably wouldn't notice. also IIRC the time between burns is on the order of years not months.

turkey is in both asia and europe. it lies on the division.

microscopic nano-particles
insane_alien replied to particles's topic in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology
medications are fully soluble in you body, nothing will be left. anyway, there would be far more particles from the environment(dust and such). -
The currency will be an amalgam of all the different currencies in the union. in the EU many countries had the moneteray value increased considerably with only very few having it drop, and then only slightly. also, countries had to meet certain economic conditions so that the impact would be minimised. and it will not be an expansion of the US as you seem to think. here in the EU all the countries keep control of their respective armies. i suspect the same would happen there. Canada and the US already cooperate in troop movements, both with NATO and the UN. you also won't lose your national identity, as someone who frequently visits the european mainland for holidays both pre EU and post EU i can tell you that france is still france, spain still spain, italy still italy and so on. the most noticable difference is that there are no longer border checks and i don't have to convert my money for some extortionate service charge.

at they very worst he'd have to use ndiswrapper to use the windows drivers. note: I have NO idea how to set this up as i have never had this problem.

get a PC and dual boot linux. linux for security, XP/vista for gaming. works a treat. and the WINE project is progressing fast and can already run a bunch of windows games on linux.

Compressed air cars are all well and good but there is whole lot of BS surrounding them, like there are no CO2 emmisions, well, from the car theres not but from the powersource for the air pump to compress the air i bet there will be. They are analogous to battery powered vehicles and hydrogen fueled cars. They are a good interim till we get a decent hydrogen storage system or super battery/capacitor.

seeing as they were designed to do that, yes, yes they do.

use quote tags or this will quickly become undreadable.

never even noticed that one. lol. -

thats wrong that 4 should be a negative. -
okay, you posted something obviouslt copy& pasted but never provided a link. how can we verify the validity of your source? also, we can not tell where the reference ends and where you begin. also, i think you may be reffering to the experiment where the group velocity was observed at 300c but the photons were still going at c, no information was transmitted faster than c and GR/SR held true. an interesting trick but nothing useful.

way to much ambiguousness and redundancy, be more precise and concise.

we'll just keep asking till he gives us answers. how about this. 1/ graviphoton, layout your claims, point and all in a nice ordered manner, 2/ the rest of us set out a list of questions we want answers to. 3/ graviphoton, you go through that list and give us answers(one by one if you have to)

Merlin Wood's hypothesis (split from Dark Matter Question)
insane_alien replied to merlin wood's topic in Speculations
yes they can. i can measure the magnitude of a force and i can measure the direction of a force. having the positions of two objects i can calculate a magnitude and direction. this is not hard and the average highschool student is taught this. i often need to use vector math to calculate both magnitude and direction. I can only assume from this your math skills are severely lacking. vectors are an abstract concept. through physical theories they can be applied. mainly when you are dealing with a system that has more than one dimension. Gravity is not the only thing vectors apply to, motion, electromagnetism, fluid dynamics and lots more depend on them. the presence or lack thereof of gravitational fields is irrelevant. also, if there were no such thing as gravity how would we have theories of it? ??? i can measure the force of attraction of an object towards another object. its very easy, do you have a set of scales in your bathroom? go stand on them. this will give you the magnitude of attraction between you and the earth. the direction(from your frame) is down. i have to admit i do not know enough of quantum entanglement to provide a meaningful reply here, i suspect that neither do you. vectors are not the be all and end all of physical modeling. and why can't it involve any measurement or calculation. if you have no measurements then you have NO evidence you have an abstract concept. as such there is no guarantee it has anything to do with reality. -
it does if said OS does not hve driver for your ethernet adapter. this is definitely a strange one. i think you would be better going to the ubuntu forums for this. the people there are really good at solving problems, quick to.

Merlin Wood's hypothesis (split from Dark Matter Question)
insane_alien replied to merlin wood's topic in Speculations
you obviously have never encountered vectors then. no, observations are required for that. mathematics is essential for creating the model. biology and pure physics have many many differences that make mathematical models of similar makeup to the physics models impractical for our current level of technology. this is not to say mathematical models are never constructed but they tend to be far more rule of thumb than anything. the main issue in biology is the extraordinary number of factors and unknown process which require further investigation before more accurate models can be constructed. -
the ISS is designed with thrusters. the fuel supply can be replenished by resupply craft. no specialized craft is needed.

we(homo spaiens) out performed them from an evolutionary point of view. we moved in and forced them out. sure there would have been some interbreeding but breeding them out of existence would have resulted in a hybrid across the world rather than just homo sapiens we would have something that is a mix of both.

yeah the construction of the highway was paid for but it still needs maintenance

Merlin Wood's hypothesis (split from Dark Matter Question)
insane_alien replied to merlin wood's topic in Speculations
Darwin did not create a theory of evolution. Newton did, and he had maths. also, darwinian evolution did not require maths as it was qualitative rather than quantitative. now that we have discovered genetics and such, there is a fair bit of maths to it. -

that rearranging is wrong, it should all be in a square root and that c^2 should be c^4 -
trees and the earth are not the same. their chemistry is very very different. a glass of water and a glass of methanol look the same. they are very very different things.
