but still HIV causes AIDS. just because other things can cause it doesn't mean that HIV suddenly can't. an analogy would be, i push something over using my left hand. that doesn't instantly mean that there is no physical way for my right hand to push something over.
-
well, do you want to be a test subject, we'll just give you a hypodermic full of HIV and wait and see if you get AIDS. while we have ethics to prevent us from doing this, there has been accidental exposure to pure HIV strains. the unfortunate victims did go on to develop AIDS. not conclusive in the scientific world but it definitely raises the probability of current understanding being right.

uh yeah, i didn't see your post as i was writing mine when you posted.

yes, one documentary that has been discredited by many many scientists. really, go read some research papers. there is not a lack of them. i believe there are a few hundred. i believe them over a single documentary. also, why else would people with HIV have a deficient immune system even if no other infections are present?
-
Seeing as AIDS is a collection of symptoms and infections caused by an impared immune system. and HIV impairs the immune system. then yes, HIV is a cause of AIDS. AIDS can also be caused by other viruses and conditions that impair the immune system. simple definition research would be useful for you here.

The cell in one variable, i.e., hydrogen bonding
insane_alien replied to pioneer's topic in Chemistry
okay, so hat happens if you increase the H-potential in the cell? what happens when you decrease it? if you can't answer these then the last speck of credibility you have will evapourate away. -
got the equivalent(highers) 3 years ago. good luck to everybody.

uhhh what? a huge mass of rock a quarter of the earths size just dissapears don't you think the apollo missions would have discovered that quite shockingly? the moon does appear to rise just like the sun and stars due to the earths rotation and since it is also orbiting the earth the position and time it rises at can change. a simple astronomy program can show you ith reasonable accuracy where it will rise. redshift is a good commercial program for it but if you want a free and opensource version then i recommend stellarium.

well, in space there isn't really an up or down unless you account for the direction of the local gravitational force or you could take it as the opposite direction from which your head is pointing. we are surrounded by stars planets and galaxies so inwhich ever direction you got you will likely encounter stars and planets.

we are trying to help the non-native english speakers on the board of which there are many. i speak english natively and even i'm having trouble reading your posts. 'txtspk' is fine for sending a short message when details are not that important. but when you are trying to get information on a topic like relativity, details are important and txtspk becomes a really poor method of communication. it doesn't have to be great english but the closer your words are to actual words in the dictionary, the better we can understand you and help you out.

How did all racial physical differences come about?

The cell in one variable, i.e., hydrogen bonding
insane_alien replied to pioneer's topic in Chemistry
heh, this isn't the worst of it(this might have been on a different forum but i'm pretty sure it was this one) there was this one guy that came on trying to tell everybody that everything was made of hydrogen atoms. not as a product of the fusion of hydrogen atoms but chemical bonding of hydrogen atoms. passed of helium as H2 as well as molecular hydrogen. he also didn't believe in the neutron, or quarks. oh yeah, and there is no such thing as electromagnetism as it is all accounted for by hydrogen pushing other molecules ofhydrogen in the right direction. he also had some issues with einstein being 'the great hydrogen suppressor' apparently einstein is alive and well and raiding his house on a weekly basis to prevent his 'god like theory' from reaching the public. that would be something to see. old albert barging through his house and burning everything. there seems to be a fixation on hydrogen. it can probably be explained but i doubt its hydrogen bonding. -
Special Relativity Problem
insane_alien replied to Tom Morton's topic in Modern and Theoretical Physics
ummm maybe you are refferring to something i already know but in different terms but i've never heard of a 'clock re-phasing transformation' in relativity. also, the wording of your statement leads me to think you are talking about an experiment where the clock changes velocity relative to the observer. if this is the case then of course special relativity doesn't apply, you would need to use general relativity. why don't you just post the proof that it is not correct here instead of the whole email thing. this is a debate forum and we can not debate what we have no knowledge of. -
Democrats finally pass a law! Er wait, it does WHAT?!

is it the one on the left? -
heh, i'm not musically compatible with the rest of them either. oh well. medium compatibility with you. damn. i'll need to listen to more obscure stuff.

of course he did. someone will always try to find the source. if even the more crackpot sites aren't sowing something like this up then the chances are its a load of bs. so much so the idiots don't even believe it.

or just deleted as it has less factual accuracy than a creationist on LSD.

that was my first thought as well but i decided to ignore it

seeing as that bit of the building isn't on fire and is on the outside and facing into the wind(otherwise it would be swamped with smoke) then it is probably cool enough for a person to stand there. it could even be chilly. this still won't change the fact that in other areas it would be hot enough to significantly affect the structural integrity.

like me. all my teachers expected me to fail. i got the highest marks for 5 years from my school not that i'm being a smug git or anything i need to work at uni though. sometimes.

i can find no mention of this anywhere either from the official NASA site, various news sites(even ones with particularly dubious accuracy ratings) and various shuttle conspiracy sites known to link every mission with the occult. the closest thing i could find was a photograph of the vapourtrail sometime after the launch that looked really cool. http://stormvideographer.com/blog/2007/06/10/strange-sts-117-atlantis-cloud-smoke-left-overs/ provide some substantiation that i may have missed from a reliable source and then we'll discuss this more. otherwise its just two unsourced(probably drawn by you) images that may or may not have anything to do with a shuttle mission. and anyway, people see stuff in the clouds all the time. ever lay down on the ground as a kid looking at the sky and spotting clouds that looked like objects or people?
-
no, it doesn't. it implies that the human species will speciate and one of those species will be a food stuff to the other species.
-
it is possible if humans speciate and one species or the other loses intelligence and becomes a food animal. seems unlikely though as intelligence is our niche.

i'm not an expert on the political and legal systems of the USA (or anywhere else for that matter) but isn't that the point of amendments. the fact that the rules can be changed to keep up with society. i mean it doesn't mean that the laws should be completely replaced every few decades just to keep up with the times. that would be wasteful as some laws can remain in place for hundreds of years and be just as relevant as they were when first written. -
i don't see whats wrong with harry potter as a book. i've read some books that have been praised for their genius and writing skill and that but i could never get into them enough to enjoy them. basically, the story sucked ass. they might have been good examples of writing style but jeez they were boring. and some books i've read from the bottom of the literary critics pile of crap and really enjoyed them because the story is good. harry potter has a good story. it is interesting enough to keep you reading. the structure may be simplistic but if you're reading a book for the story does that really matter?as long as it conveys enough information to spark off your imagination to fill in the gaps then its good. also in response to thetree, i used to read the goosebumps books. i was only 6 but i thought they were pretty cool.
