YT, i was reffering to molecular hydrogen not monatomic hydrogen. and i'm hungover give me a break
-
my comments are in bold

well 1 mole molecular hydrogen is 22.4 litres @ STP so thats 2 grams per 22.4 litres. don't know why you have heat of fusion in there(its not fusion as in nuclear fusion). i can see you ain't so hot with chemistry so i'll go dig my chemistry book out and do the calculations. additional: ok so my chemistry book is AWOL and i can't be bothered looking for it. so we'll go for input=output and assume zero losses. so the usual method of defining explosive power (on this scale) is in tonnes of tnt. this happens to be 4.184 giga joules(GJ). we have an input of 77.4 GJ/s so the theroetical explosive power is 18.5 tonnes of tnt per second. we'll assum that you need 1 teratonne of TNT to wipe out all life on earth(complete estimate so don't quote me on it) so we would have to run it for 54054054054 seconds thats 1713 years. unless you want to fuse the hydrogen where the amount of energy you could release per second would go up by a shedload but i have some crappy fluid flow work to get done so tata.

well having the hydrogen on the surface is already a bad idea if you want to blow up he world, it would compress it rather than shattering it (unless you mean just wiping out all life). you should convert the volume of hydrogen into a molar quantity and then use an enthalpy table to get the amount of energy released on combustion.

A cosmic trigger event is occurring on the 17th of October 2006?

maybe they're talking about a standard time (GMT, PST etc.) altough that would require the earth being bathed in radiation rather than a beam. how do they know this anyway? -

better get the sun block out ;P -
piston engines kinda suck in general never mind the hydrogen. the most viable concept so far is a hydrogen fuelcell to produce oodles of current and voltage to drive an electric motor. more torque(especially at 0RPM) more power per kg and per volume. don't need so many gears as an electric engine can handle about 20000RPM without too much sag on the wire if its done right.

if you can't answer those questions then you don't deserve to be in the class, i can answer 8/9 of those and i haven't done a computing class for about 4 years now. and even then it was a crappy class with none of that in it.

get drunk and ask if it can be a foursome next time? -
i thought there as a small gland in the brain that also produce small amounts? no wonder i din't do biology...
-
it affects the brain and is produce IN the brain. there are also various glands about the body that produce it also so the physiological effects come about faster than usual. just good distribution and evolution is all.

a couple of my friends and i are going to go on a road trip round europe sometime next year maybe. should be awesome i'm looking forward to the autobahn . i've been to most of western europe so i want to see the eastern side as well. i quite fancy going to Greece see all the ruins and that

well you gould get more than 20% with a simple still. the condenser could just be a plastic bag put over the cup of blood.
-
akcaper, blood is more than 20% water, if it was 20% we would have a slight circulation and clotting problem
-
umm, generally its not. carbon tetraoxide can only exist as a transition sate and would have a mean lifetime of a couple of femtoseconds. did you mean carbon dioxide perchance?

i see 2 possibilites, 1. the hardrive is faulty so it looks for a boot sector from the CD drive but there is nothing in there. 2. the CD drive is faulty and cannot communicate properly with the mobo. check all the connections(even if they seem counter intuitive) if it still craps up then do the whole process of elimination. replace CD drive replace HDD etc, etc, until it works. (only do 1 at a time and use ones from a computer you know works) first you could try just removing the CD drive

overheating damage maybe? -
its still standard in highers(scottish equivalent of A-levels) according to the few guys i know have that done that last year

how many walls are between you and the router? and what are they made of? -
i suppose a neutron star on the verge of becoming a black hole (or the hypothetical quark star) would have one close to the surface. but they would get absorbed more than around a black hole by matter passing through.

isn't that a kind of warpdrive? -
for me its just something to watch when i just feel like lazing about with my gf

telekinesis would probably be fatal because of newtons laws. the force is applied from the brain. the brain is squidgy. every action has an equal and opposite reaction. even lifting a pencil would likely result in brain damage and/or a seziure. although your brain damaged self probably would be pretty happy in its vacant way.

the technology still needs to have a few bugs ironed out(primarily the mass storage of pure H2) and then there is the road block of corporations... "we won't build pumps until people have hydrogen cars" customers "we won't get hydrogen cars until there are pumps" manufacturers "we won't build hydrogen cars till there is demand" customers "we won't(can't) buy hydrogen cars until they are availabe" and so on ad nauseum
