Well there is a pure electric car that can go over 120 mph on batteries so i would assume that it would be no bother for a hybrid. the range again depends on the size of the fuel tank. obviously a hybrid with a 20 gallon(no idea what size a normal fuel tank is but this is just for an example) could go twice as far as a hybrid with a 10 gallon tank. (assuming the same weights/ drag/ and anything else affecting fuel consumption) there is no reason why a hybrid just now couldn't go just as far (probably further) than your average car just now.

cover the egg in cotton wool? you could say its to help keep the egg intact during the acceleration phase of the launch

i had no problems playing the clip on my computer bluesmudge. Quicktime does that i know. i needed to convert it so i could upload it to a website and it wouldn't accept .3gp files. only .mpg or .wmv Anyway i have it all sorted now.

That film rocks. although a lot of americans that go to the same uni as me don't like it merely because in the film america is a country in a stateof civil war which is a daft reason to hate a movie

ahhh you have a distributed computing project running. that explains the excessive usage. in that case its normal. if you didn't run that the expected value would be 0%(not actually 0 but too small to show up) to 2% when idling. and 50-60% spikes when its doing a "light" task eg. browsi ng sfn.

maybe you should mention not to store it for any legnth of time. just incase.

can i use AC current for electrolysis -- water + 120V is BAD!!!!!!!!

its a metal isnt it?(well alloy but its still made of metals) 60 Hz means 60 times a second. -
net change in momentum would be 0 so no our orbit would remain unchanged. some hypothesize that we would get a minor earth quake from it but it would only be detectable with ultra accurate seismometers. even then it would probably be lost to background noise from natural tremors. the amount of energy released is tiny compared to proper earthquakes and with people jumping all over the world the energy is too spread out to make any sort of effect. there would be no epicenter. Although the amount of coordination and communication required to organizee this is pretty spectacular in itself.

I did a lot of staring into space as well. i just kind of drifted through life for a bit after it. most of its a blur but i was kind of surprised how i could still function as well as i did so soon after. i could sort of put it to the back of my mind but not for very long. and afterwards i felt guilty for making myelf forget for even that tiny amount of time so i could get stuff done. lots of irrational stuff. but anyways i don't want to do another big emotional outpouring. i done that at the time and i've moved on now, although occasionally i really miss them again like when i left highschool, got accepted into uni etc. probably again at graduation from uni but thats a few years in the future.

yeah i know what you mean. a while back i was actually having quite a good time, studies were going well had a few parties planned and when i get home from school i find out that my gran has been admitted to a hospital about 50 miles away after having an extremely bad heart attack. it practically destroyed her heart and she died 2 days later when life support was switched off (while angry about it at the time, i see sense in it now since there was no way she could have recovered and due to her age and various medical conditions there was no way se'd even be considered for a heart transplant.) After that i fell out with someone i had been friends with for about 5 years failed my english exam and was generally depressed for about three months and was pretty anti social for a while. when i got back to school i was in a few more fights than usual and worried about various classes and the fact that my grandpa was ill (we thought it was only a cold at that time but i was still worried since my gran had just died pretty much)anyway just after christmas my grandpa was admitted to hospital because that"cold" hadn't gone away. turned out to be pneumonia all the doctors said he'd get better but he just got worse and died just under a year after my gran died and i went into a depression again. but after that it slowly got better especially after i got into uni. that was a crap time in my life.

so the p in (pc)^2 is equal to zero. which makes (pc)^2 equal zero which leaves you with E^2=(mc^2)^2 which simplifies to E=mc^2. since not all mass is consumed you go back the equation you posted and that gives you the binding energy(the energy released)

It took you this long to see that? Well in science(proper science not psuedoscience or "creationscience" ugh) reason is still alive and well.

depends. is your computer just idling or is it doing something processor heavy like folding@home or a game or calculating pi to the 1.9*10^7000 digits

boring scientific work - how do you handle it?

ROFLMAO! haha! brilliant post Dak! yet another way to lighten up science. make up zombie stories. you could always log on and browse the forums if your near a computer. -
I GOT THROUGH IT! it took a drill and a knife but i did it. i still think this stuff would be perfect for tanks.

I just saw V for Vendetta. i'm going to say 4th equal.

If you've ever watched the core(whether it be for the pleasure of mocking it or because you were being tortured) you'll know about the metal/mineral/alloy called unobtanium. I think ive just found it. After my previous memory pen shattered i bought a new one about 20 mins ago. The packaging displays all the same characteristics of unobtanium as described by 'the core', when under stress it gets stronger, resistant to heat etc. etc. I tried scissors, they broke. i tried melting a corner off with my lighter, it didn't melt. i tried biting a corner off, i cut my tounge. i say we build tanks out of this stuff. P.S. i still haven't got the memory pen out.

think algebraicly, not numerically for this one.

ooo Mn2O7, doesn't that have to be kept below -13*C otherwise it eh, decomposes violently.

1. 28 days later 2. ginger snaps 3. the breakfast club 4. the proposition 5. the godfather

it wouldn't be wise to have exposed molten Na. it is very reactive with air and water. the Na will be liquid since its melting point is lower than NaCl. i wouldn't advise this method without the proper equipment and training/experience.

Me. i'd rather buy a smaller 2 seater acrobatics aeroplane. much more fun.
