Not dure if this is the rigt place cos we don't have a finance bit. My bank is trying to say that i have invested £600,000 in some buisness or other and basically, i haven't. i don't have £600,000 and the biggest investment i have made is a 3 grand isa. and that was only on the 24th. the letters are also dated 18/4/85 two years before i was born(more). i phoned the bank up and they actually just said they can't help it if i never paid the money and they've froze my account. so errr help?

YT is correct the photons were till travelling at 300,000,000 ms^-1 (yeah i know its far from exact but its good enough) they were just interupted by atoms. think of the photon as a train that instantly accelerates. It always travels at 1km per second (its a futuristic train ok) the path it takes is from A-Z. A and Z are 260 km apart and there is a town with a station every 10km. if its stopped at a station it stays for 30 sec if its the express(vacuum) it ignores the stations inbetween and takes 260 seconds to complete the journey. if it stops at all the stations (the medium be it gas liquid or solid) it would take 260 + 24(30)=980 seconds. significantly longer. this gives it an average velocity of 0.265km/s or roughly 1/4 its actual velocity even thoug the train travelled at 1 km/s this is what happens in experiments where light is slowed down.

well then we must always be sick then cause we always have bacteria in our blood. i asked my friend who is doing 4th year microbiology and he said that blood is a really good breedingground for bacteria although the white cells do fight back in a body. BTW if blood was always sterile then how do we get sick.

your school doesn't happen to be rich and own a gas cromatograph does it? you could probably also use IR spectra. but titrations are easier and cheaper. If you find titrations boring, try doing it one handed. cos if you pursue a career in chemistry your going to to do thousands of them. i'm at 218 titrations and i'm only in the first year of Uni
