Israel doesn't have to do anything triggerhappy yanks like G.W.Bush will sort them out. Then convieniently find out after that it was all innocent and merely electricity production.

Anyone know where einstien put the resistance?
insane_alien replied to GORDON HERMA's topic in Physics
if we take it from the frame of reference of the system then it stays E=mc^2 i have seen no equation relating resistance and mass. there is no relation. its not as if 1 kg = 3 ohms This is close to reality. a photon is a particle, this is true. it is just a particle that can only travel at c(speed of light) because it is massless. its not out of phase with anything. phase is more associated with waves at this scale. No it shows that there is no interaction taking place that results in conversion. No matter was even consumed in the reaction. If you took all the matter (number of atoms) before and after it would be the same number. Just because energy exhibits mass does not mean it becomes matter. Not always true. yes it imparts its energy to move a single electron to one side or the other. An unstable situation resulting in the atoms rearranging themselves into more stable arrangements. nah the atom just accelerates. it doesn't always leave radioacive materials. stable products are also formed when atoms split/decay I don't see where the resistance is. also these are only a few examples. what about matter/antimatter annihilations. the ultimate proof of E=mc^2. also no products with rest mass. so ehh where did you get this from. You say you are uneducated in these matters so you must have read it somewhere or came to a weird conclusion from something. Can you post a source. Matter/ anti matter annihilations leave no massive particles. only 2 photons. It doesn't because there is no loss. if you take the change in mass and apply E=mc^2 you will get the energy released from the interaction. once again there is no resistance. but there is nothing held by the resistance because there is no resistance. even if this were true the equation still holds since when applying E=mc^2 to fission because you only take the change in mass and ignore the remaining mass and you get the energy out. not everything is a total mass to energy conversion because the energy released is not from matter. it is potential energy. the energy itself has mass but there are no energy particle per se. -
tinfoil would reflect the signal. don't know why you want to do this though cos it won't connect with itself

he could have coordination, or use the menu button like me.

Anyone know where einstien put the resistance?
insane_alien replied to GORDON HERMA's topic in Physics
The strong nuclear force does not hold together a football its electromagnetic forces. strong nuclear force dissapears outside the nucleus of an atom. nope we see reactions that to a complete mass convertion all the time its called annihilation and involves an anti matter particle and a matter particle colliding and turning into 2 gamma photons(energy) no particles are left. This isn't a nuclear reaction. however, if you took the reactants(including the oxygen, match, anything else you need) and got an exact measurement of the mass and took the products after they cooled down and weighed them to the same accuracy there would be a small discrepancy. the lost mass is the energy that was stored in the chemical bonds of the wood and oxygen. this is because it is not a conversion. just splitting the atom. the mass lost is energy stored in the binding of the atomic nuclei by the strong force. no. there is no resistance. not a bit. err... my mind is turning to mush just thinking about what this could possibly mean. -
Couple questions regarding vacuum of space
insane_alien replied to PistolPete38's topic in Classical Physics
Space isn't a complete vacuum. there is around 10-12 atoms per m^3 in the solar system, less in interstellar space and around 3-4 in intergalactic space. In nebulae it can go as high as 100 atoms/molecules per m^3 at this low density it reall doesn't behave like a gas as the mean free path is practically infinite. gcol that article is refering to sound waves propogating through a medium(probably a crystal as i have seen numerous articles on this and they all mention crystals) where the sound wve exibits a particle nature much like the particle behaviour of light. instead of being called a photon it is called a phonon. however these still need a medium to propogate. -
depends if it is designed to give a set frequency. my grampa had an old generator that was used for lighting. since the lighting only needed > 25Hz that was the only thing the govenor kept track of. it sometimes went up to 75Hz

you can if you dislocate your arm. Venus has a day thats longer than its year.

Most things in moderation have no ill effects some things (alcohol) can even be beneficial in SMALL doses. So 3 or 4 cans a week won't do any harm

never knew an 2(H2)/O2 gas mix was called browns gas(EDIT: Oh wait its NOT). anyways, this could work if the ratios are right. i hope you live in a cold climate cause the engine will get a lot hotter a lot faster with hydrogen in the mix. you ca also expect to hear more knocking from the engine as the gas mix is extremely flamable, so don't smoke in the car and i don't care if the window is open just don't do it or your car will be a mini hindenburg. personally i wouldn't do it from lack of technical knowledge of cars. EDIT: This Brown guy isn't really all that good. He exploitied little old ladies and made claims that the gas mixture was mysterious and poorly understood. attracted a lot of gullible people and some nutters. also claimed his home in Chicago was a "University Of Life Sciences". Source Not really a guy we would want to big up at SFN

the ball gains mass in the form of kinetic energy when you kick it. energy is then lost due to friction with the air(i hope this is the resistance you were talking about) and hence the ball loses this mass. when the ball stops it will be exactly the same mass as before you kicked it. overall no mass is lost and no mass is gained. -
DO objects fall at the same speed? NO!
insane_alien replied to Ali Algebra's topic in Classical Physics
because we can still have an intelligent discussion about this topic. with out the OP. -
SFN used to have a nice little section of games. what happened to them BRING BACK THE GAMES!

Couple questions regarding vacuum of space
insane_alien replied to PistolPete38's topic in Classical Physics
We have never been able to make a vacuum as good as the one in space never mind a better one. its simply too hard with outgassings from the chamber walls etc. the pressure differential, even if we made a complete vacuum(which is impossible), would be absolutely tiny. i'm talking on the order of pico(10^-12)pascals. no gaseous/dust movement into the sample chamber would be seen as the external pressure would be unlikely to force particles into the sample chamber. -
i wonder what chipmunks on helium would sound like... goes of to find a chimpmunk/squirrel.

look up "rutherford" on google.

has the stereo got an equalizer on it? if it does try turning the sliders at the left side up and the sliders at the right side down.

Can hydrogen really form more compounds than Carbon?
insane_alien replied to budullewraagh's topic in Chemistry
it can bond to other elements to make compuonds other than hydrogen eg. H2S or H2O or HF... i could go on. -
I've never seen a moon around venus either. also i was always taught it was "Olympus mons" not "Mons Olympus" however thats nothing compared to a phantom moon

you can't smell radiation. Was it a shirt you had on earlier? if so its probably B.O.

well seeing as you don't donate until your dead, there is always the chance that you change your mind for some reason or your organs become useless for donation(eg. disease, physical damge, too much decomposition before harvesting). The politician's don't want to gamble that. and anyway if there were tax breaks everybody would sign up and the government would lose money, which the politicians don't want.

Universal expansion versus intergalatic travel.
insane_alien replied to the tree's topic in Speculations
Elas: this doesn't really have much to do with the speed of light except that its the speed limit which, i'm sure, the tree already knows. the tree: your thinking seems to be finesince obviously if your not going faster than something then you can never catch up with it. towork out the rate of acceleration required you need to use a differential equation if for your ships acceleration you get an imaginary number, you will never reach it. if it is 0 it will take you an infinity to reach it. -
Compressing Atoms with high pressure
insane_alien replied to sunspot's topic in Modern and Theoretical Physics
Do you mean something like metallic hydrogen? I think this would happen to all the elements at electron degeneracy pressures. it is not ionization. just matter forced to bond metallicly instead of covalently or ionicly.
