1. anyone notice at the start the cartoon t-rex seems to be getting intimate with the triceratops.
2. flowcharts are good since you practically make the code when you make one.
3. thats almost as bad as the bags of nuts with the warning "CAUTION: This product may contain nuts."i have one of those bags framed on my wall. no i didn't take the money.
4. I have to laugh at the sueing culture in america. when i went on holiday to florida i slipped in some big shopping center (mall) and the staff actually offered me money to not sue. i had no intention of sueing as i knew it was my own damned fault. I think this is just a small mistake that an editor missed. it happens. just write to them informing them of the mistake.
5. You could use a piston but backwards. a piston used ormally turn linear force into torque so it you apply a torque to output you'll get a linear force from the piston.
6. before life there was no soil since the soil is the result of decayed plant and animal matter. there would have been lots of sand around. and rock. life probably started around a volcanic vent under an ocean.

10. wrong calculation is the problem. the equation you used was for 2 magnets attractin/repelling each other. you want an equation to work out the force on something that isn't a magnet
11. i'll go have a chat with him and maybe get a glance at this instruction manual. (its a b!tch of a router everything is so damn complicated)
12. if its cold you want to increase the volatility(is that even a word)of the fuel to get it to ignite properly. diethylether should do it if you nix it in with the fuel. even adding some straight chained alkanes under octane should do it. maybe something like 100 ml of hexane to 1 litre of fuel.
13. My neighbour got a wireless router for his house for christmas(and got me round to set it up since neither he or is wife could figure it out) but this morning when i turned on my laptop it kept trying to connect to his network instead of mine. I've set all the preferences so that my laptop should prefer my own network instead of his but it just doesn't seem to work. My network has the higher value(since it doesn't have to travel as far or through as many walls) and is even on a different channel. but for some reason it still wants to connect to his network. Any ideas?
14. i just do stuff as it comes along. I don't bother with schedules as every time I make a plan something goes wrong and the plan has to change. Just wing it.
15. i hhink the whole point is the self satisfaction of having built something for your self. not just to make super cool pointy weapons.
16. not so messy.... YET!
17. I got a new mobile phone(can't figure out how to do most of the stuff its supposed to do. a chem book and a pair of socks Merry X-mas!
18. i don't like ipods theres just something fundamentally wrong with them. i was listening to my friends and i accidentally fried it. the moment i tried to change the song it stopped woorking for good.
19. Happy birthday! mine was on the 17th. booze just isn't as much fun anymore.
20. i've surrounded electronics in oil without any adverse effects before. in fact it was quite beneficial as i no longer needed a cooling system for the cpu (pentium III 500MHz) and motherboard that was submerged in the oil.
21. you could take a clone of an early modern human(homo sapiens) and teach him/her to read. we haven't evolvedd a lot over the last 20,000years
22. octane value still doesn't work. its like saying gravity is at defcon 2. absurd and pointless
23. 3800 K [or 3527°C (6381°F)]
24. or body language, or sign language.
25. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coriolis_force why does this prove that the earth has a fusion core anyway. its been proven that the core is solid every time there is an earthquake.
