  1. and this is relevant how?
  2. sorry, don't have a microscope handy, there's nothing there to blow. put up or shut up you've presented zilch, no idea, no data nothing. do you think this makes you look intelligent or something? because it does exactly the opposite.
  3. hey look, you still look like a massive prat. put up or shut up.
  4. galindo, you need to actually present something. just saying you have discovered something and not telling anyone what it actually is just makes you look like a massive prat.
  5. oh really? would you mind backing that up? because i've seen a few and they looked indistinguishable from gem quality. crystal clear and sparkly. granted i never looked at them under a microscope or anything but they looked good.
  6. maybe you should ask for clarification instead of jumping to conclusions next time.
  7. mods, come on! ban him already we know he does nothing but troll
  8. quit your trolling and bugger off is how fast.
  9. i think we've made it clear you're not welcome here anymore. quit your trolling.
  10. why don't you just stop trolling and bugger off?
  11. you can crystalise metals. bismuth produces interesting results. basically, all you need to do is melt it and cool it down VERY slowly. the crystals will form when it gets supercooled.
  12. depends on what you crystalised Crystals don't come in species. there are various types of crystals depending on their lattice structure though. A crystal is a crystal no matter how it was formed. If you crystalise something that isn't water soluble then yes. well seeing as you can crystalise pretty much anything at home, yep. ice is a pretty common one. there are really too many to list.
  13. lookls lik you've just reworded the wikipedia definition. the structure and phrases used are suspiciously similar
  14. SHOUTING DOESN'T MAKE YOU RIGHT seriously, you are going to have to offer some evidence. i mean what have you offered other than: 1/ you do not understand basic physics 2/ you don't think maths is acceptable 3/ you claim to have invented some new energy that has somehow been missed by centuries of scientists. seriously, go read a highschool physics text and then come back.
  15. magnets do care about perpendicular but the field shape is totally different as it is a dipole while gravitational sources are monopoles.
  16. well, when i was talking about gravity acting with or against the direction of motion i was reffering to that point in time. you seemed to be thinking i was talking universally as if it will never change its direction of motion even if it was given al of time. you sir are an idiot and a troll. kindly bugger off.
  17. magnets do not work like gravity, and neither does a string. and there's so much more going on in that case that it is incomparable to a planetary orbit. you have already admitted that a force will have no effect on motion perpendicular to its direction(the whole x and y velocities thing earlier) so don't give me crap about you thinking its silly.
  18. i don't understand what this has to do with orbits. but the planets ARE travelling perpendicular to the force of gravity in an orbit. this has bugger all to do with computer screens. you have no concept of time frames do you?
  19. there was a reason for a silly question. you said that gravity slows you down no matter what the direction of gravity and the direction of travel yet when you are falling you speed up. this makes your claim demonstratably false. so, gravity will ONLY slow you down if it is acting AGAINST the direction of travel. if it is acting WITH the direction of travel then it will speed the object up. in an orbit it is acting PERPENDICULAR to the direction of travel and therefore will neither speed it up or slow it down. it almost sound like you think an orbit is something just hovering over one point. this is not an orbit at all.
  20. gafferuk, if gravity slows you down then why do you speed up when you fall?
  21. ah yeah forgot about that bit. it must have been the bunnies, they also have the ability to wipe memories... what was i saying?
  22. oh yes, as an engineer myself the computer model i built to predict operating limits of a device doesn't rely on anything as evil as maths! no, it relies on magic bunnies. not evil at all.
  23. no he would be travelling at the same speed as the moon.
  24. seeing as it is aimed at people not interested in maths and may not have the prerequisite knowledge/skills to think it through then they are actually going about it the right way. and even if it is possible to prove/disprove something its a good exercise in experimental design.
  25. an astronaut in an orbit only 1000 miles above the surface would not stay over one place for very long. he'd have to be travelling sideways at a few miles per second.
