  1. light. done. EDIT, although if you want to be finicky, the rate CMBR is receeding but thats due to expanision of space inbetween so it doesn't really exceed c locally.
  2. a 'terminal temperature' will only be reached when the rate of heat going out of the object in question equals the rate of heat entering the object. this is termed thermal equilibrium. its nothing shocking.
  3. we are losing atmosphere to space. its dragged off by solar wind and just plain diffusion. butthe amount is pretty tiny. its only really hydrogen and helium that get far enough away for that to happen. more than enough gases stored in the earth to keep the atmosphere around.
  4. are you proposing they studied astronomy by being nearsighted? notice acontradiction there?
  5. yeah, but when you stick it in an NMR machine you are actively driving that RF emission from the atomic nuclei themselves.
  6. if anything it'd just be stretched out, there wouldn't be any extra detail capable of being resolved on it. if anything its going to be less as the sensors are more dispersed. not thtat the size of eyball is significantly different from anyone elses
  7. i was watching te news last night, and it seems that alrge amount of survivors are clamouring for jobs in order to get resources to help other survivors in their family. the fact that they have 500 haitians employed is a good thing as it is another route for financial aid ot neter the country(albeit roundabout) perhaps they should give them a bonus?
  8. true, but irrelevant, they all result in a focal point occuring before the retina and thats all. none i am aware of result in a more sensitive retina(although some result in a less sensitive retina) no. and that would not allow the retina to determine more detail either.
  9. its not a problem with the retina that causes myopia, it is a problem with the lense structure. the focal point of the light happens before the retina. it is not an increased resolution of the retina at all, there is absolutely no difference between the retina of a shortsighted, normal sighted or far sighted person.
  10. not sure what that second bit has to do with the first bit.
  11. the virus is constantly mutating. thats why it evades cures so easily.
  12. There is avery good reason this was banned and made illegal in several countries. it increases risks of heart attack, stroke and death. if you're going to the gym to lose weight successfully then keep doing that. no point in getting fitter just so you can wreck your body with an outlawed cocktail of chemicals. i really do advise you not to do this.
  13. or the problem will have solved us, whichever...
  14. this is just wrong. electromagnetic waves can be picked up by medical equipment, heart monitors, those brain activity monitors, etc. these detect the electrical impulses that emanate from your body. sure, they're pretty weak but they are there. and its DC signals in our nerves. if there isn't AC or DC then there isn't electricity because all they mean is whether the current of electricity is monodirectional or bidirectional. why bring this crap into it? as to GreenXenon, no, you can't make them emit radiofrequency wave as they are far too small to act as transmitters.
  15. don't mix energy and force, they are NOT the same thing at all.
  16. artificial pancreases are about that far away(had to do a presentation on them for my emerging technologies class, surprisingly it has a lot to do with chemical engineering). maybe it was that?
  17. mm forgot about that, should be easy enough to tack on for someone who isn't doped up at the moment(me).
  18. yeah watterbottles can be used as crude lenses. not as effective as a proper one though.
  19. well the molality is the mol per kilogram. you have 6.5L so thats roughly 10.75mol(and a bit) ethylene glycol is 62g/mol so over 620g of glycol. if i had a calculator i'd have done it properly. probably nearer 700g
  20. you are mixing calories and Calories a calorie is used in chemistry and is the energy to heat 1gram of water by 1*C a Calorie is used in food and is denoted kcal for a reason. its 1000 of the chemistry calories. confusing i know, thats why i stick to the bit that says kJ
  21. just a byproduct of light bypassing the object into your pupil. bet it only work with objects narrower than your pupil.
  22. not quite, if you move the lever through 0.5 radians it will move 0.5 radians on both sides. the linear difference travelled is different though.
  23. the chat logs are kept on the server and are easily accesible by the admins
  24. i explained this to you on IRC that torque depends on force and radius but you just chose to go 'lalala your wrong i'm right lalalala'
  25. its LCD, sorry for the late reply, i'm quite ill just now.
