  1. It's good to read about Republican senators, and others, expressing dissent against Trump's fabrications about fraud. Hopefully, they'll eat him alive and spit him out at the appropriate time. Time for both sides to learn to compromise.
  2. 'Poor' and 'door' have the same 'or' ending, so phonetically: 'por' and 'dor'. One has to consider there are regional differences within the UK. I say "dor' and 'por' but other regional variants are 'doo-er' and 'poo-er', with two distinct parts, and 'dar' and 'par' being another. 'Per' and 'der' also.
  3. If Trump wins, we'll have to start viewing the US as a problem and adversary.
  4. They will be extremely rare, going by this snippet of company history and probably didn't have stabilisers. Would they be perished now? Looks like a forced merger in 1922:
  5. It was used for a period of years but never took off due to expense. Found the article:
  6. I think you have to weigh up the added pollution from playing records to the overall background pollution. I bet it's negligible. Formaldehyde was used directly around 1912, when the plastic used then was more like Bakelite. I've forgotten the link now.
  7. Another thing to consider is the period a particular record/s were made in because the formulation/s will be different, hence, hazards may be period-specific. This could be a rabbit-hole coming...
  8. But your original post has been a success for you, as you now probably know where you might go from here.
  9. Here's part of a post someone metaresearched on the composition on a vinyl record forum. Might give a clue to the chemists here.... More here: https://www.vinylengine.com/turntable_forum/viewtopic.php?t=99579
  10. With any luck, pending legal proceedings will knock that one on the head.
  11. @studiot @joigus @wtf See if one these guys can help.
  12. Also possibly the earlier universe, iirc.
  13. Scientists have no interest in proof (which is unattainable), but rather describing behaviour of things and utility of ideas.

Yes, this is true. My grandad always emphasised understanding principles more than facts.as being more fruitful.

Yes, engage more senses to the task.
  16. Bespoke medicine is an aspiration that is not yet a reality.
  17. Probably 'all that exists'. Pantheism, probably.
  18. A clear retelling of the US COVID19 story. What shines through for me is Trump's narcissism and trying to control the narrative. I hope the CDC's standing can recover. Their online submissions, on lots of medical subjects, have been an ongoing, trusted resource personally.
  19. Been on it, on and off, for years. Give it another two weeks you should be more even in your mental state. It does throw you around at the start.
  20. It's certainly not based on commonsense. They are like the Moonies.
  21. The hypothetical 'We', just like the hypothetical 'One'. "If one...". I would imagine your brain inserts depth information sourced from memory, just as my deaf brain constructs and fill;s in the missing parts of words so that they are intelligible.
  22. Look up 'psychosomatic illness or disease'.
  23. What we can know is limited by the apparatus available to us, which includes our senses and what we can engineer.
  24. Thinking that myself. Reading your link he does seem more erratic than before.
  25. To have a meaningful discussion in the other subjects, one would have to agree term with others , or define them if one is writing. No assumptioons should be made that terms are commonly understood.
