  1. Scientists say they have successfully eliminated HIV from infected cells, using Nobel Prize-winning Crispr gene-editing technology. Working like scissors, but at the molecular level, it cuts DNA so "bad" bits can be removed or inactivated. The hope is to ultimately be able to rid the body entirely of the virus, although much more work is needed to check it would be safe and effective. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-68609297
  2. I recently rejoined FB and the manipulation of natural images, and presented as verbatim is truly pukable. Verbatim representations will increasingly become a very rare commodity.
  3. That is probably specific to an individual and how low their fertility is in the first place.
  4. Aw shucks, recently did a week on Co-Amoxiclav 500. That's my baby making prowess down the the toilet for a while. No drugs are risk-free and is always subject to risk-benefit analysis. I'm sure we've been here before.
  5. From a non-nationalist perspective, no country should have overwhelming, asymmetric military ability. That's not how one maintains an equitable global peace. In that light, it was highly fortunate the Americans couldn't keep it to themselves.

  7. They are both far away, such that lens compression has brought them together front to back. The naked eye view will do the same. What you are seeing is the relative sizes brought together, then the brain does the rest to make sense of it. I think that's how it interprets the scene.
  8. Mould spores and bacteria are endemic. They don't cause problems until they find a scenario and conditions that allows them to thrive and propagate in a person or other host substrate. It's generally the state of the host and not the number of pathogens per se that determines infection potential.
  9. If you want to build a house, what's the advantage of moulding your bricks first, is my thought. Also people only have so many hours of free time. Better to spend it on what you want to do.
  10. As soon as I saw it I belly laughed. It's also nice that it isn't nasty.
  11. You are a sufficiently convincing copy is the most I can determine as to your compatibility with human identifiers, looking at your behaviour from my PC. It doesn't matter because there are people
  12. Getting a kick out of relinquishing control; submission.
  13. Sounds like a fetish. They always sound strange to non-participants when told, hence your experience. Maybe best to keep your preferences to yourself.
  14. If ST is what experts say, I'll take that. Makes sense really because evolution. 3 billion years of tidal clock and sun clock have pretty much nailed us where we are by the looks of it..
  15. Going from DST to GMT is the killer for me. As I've said, I don't care which standard is used.
  16. Because it breaks people, like me. SAD is a real thing, then someone comes along and magnifies it with DST . I don't give shit which one is used, but it would be nice to see a smooth, natural transition through the seasons. It is psychologically terrible for a lot of people. My brother goes to Goa to soften the blow.
  17. The animosity towards UK/US administrations will only increase. The first thing we Brits need to do is to get rid of Sunak and Co. I voted for him, to my shame. This conflict is edifying in seeing countries and their leaders personal positions blooming like Rotten Corpse flowers. They bloom about every 7-9 years. Is that a bit harsh?
  18. Sorry, how do you mean? Edit: You mean Putin calling in all his favours via Novichok or some other concoction
  19. How many creditors will call in his debts once the water starts lapping over the bows.
  20. Supreme Leader 2025. I thought Christianity was about sharing, community and loving thy neighbour?
  21. This is the future if the orange one with the luxurious bouffant wins.
