  1. I think this is up your street: This is America - Childish Gambino
  2. Would we have to replace our fluid with methane to float the same as we do in water?
  3. Then you are seeing blurred in that section. The bringing into focus in such games is happening in the brain, not in the eye. Depth perception is a mental construct where information is taken from both eyes and processed in the brain to create 3D. You are probably doing this processing for that aspect there i'e it's not a raw ability of the eye.
  4. A field is a geometric description of the distribution of some value in space. It says nothing of the ontological nature i.e. the 'what is', of the phenomena causing the field, so it follows that it is a mathematical abstraction. Science seeks to describe the behaviour of phenomena and objects; what they are of themselves is beyond it's remit. That's why Strange said it's metaphysical.
  5. If Trump turned sideways he'd disappear. He's like a spaghetti western film set: all front. A quote from Aesop seems pertinent:
  6. That's the same spirit me friend called me StringJunky. . At least the cop had a sense of humour.
  7. Yes, that does seem an obvious link, considering this is a science forum.
  8. We all are ultimately from blacks, so yes, they are racially discriminating against that part of us. What percentage of black does one have to have to qualify? Is black a colour or recognition of heritage?
  9. Even if you are 'perfect', people will use that against you because it spawns envy... you can't win. As you say, you just have to weather it.
  10. You conceived of it when you was on another astral plane and woke up in the morning to sick all over the bed.
  11. I found her... she's American. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/feb/25/rachel-dolezal-not-going-stoop-apologise-grovel
  12. There's nowt as queer as folk.
  13. I'll see if I can find it. I think it's still at the controversial stage in high-level. discussions
  14. He may have started out that way but maybe he'll come out of this a bit wiser. It's an interesting subject, even if it's just about why we think the way we do. It is actually. I remember a story recently of a white English woman that was 'Trans-Black',
  15. I've discovered a new word: pansexual... those who are attracted to all of the above.
  16. Raider is discussing and defining boundaries in legal context.. Ultimately, some of these boundaries are arbitrary and culturally defined. Even those that are scientifically/medically beyond current technology may not be so in the future.
  17. Why don't we just use one word: transmorphic.
  18. The ones that shout the loudest get the most attention. Dying people aren't exactly going to be jumping up and down, are they?
  19. I carried mine over from an acoustic guitar forum. I went through a phase of trying every string type I could find and a friend of mine called me it.
  20. Right. I thought they fell out of the HUP., from the way I read it.
  21. This suggests they were introduced by Heisenberg: They were experimentally observed by Willis Lamb - Lamb Shift - in 1947.
  22. A camera lens is made of several lenses and those objects could just be a single light artifact that has been distorted into a meaningful shape and then repeatedly reflected between the lens surfaces.and then onto the sensor. The coating on the glass usually eliminates this but under certain conditions it can still happen. You most often see this phenomenon, in some pictures or videos, in the shape of repeated hexagons when the sun is in or near view, which is actually the shape of the camera's aperture. It's a sign that the coating has failed under these conditions or the lenses are dirty or moisture has condensed on them.
  23. Pareidolian entities.
  24. I think the periphery is probably more 'black and white' i.e higher contrast, which might make signs of movement more apparent.... just guessing.
