Scientific reasons for me not having a girlfriend?
StringJunky replied to Tampitump's topic in The Lounge
All the IQ test is telling you is that you are not hot with IQ tests... stay away from them. Your written English is too good for a person who thinks he's thick. Period. Your very poor self-image intellectually is not in concordance with what I'm reading from your posts. I'm not going to belabour the point anymore. It's up to you. -

Is there an age limit to the Field's? If so, I'm an wannabe 18 year old prodigy really that has lied about his age and puts up pictures of older people because I don't want the old uns to feel inferior in my presence. -

I've been sneaky subtle and subliminally planted my idea to those I think will lead me to a Field's, Nobel and eternal glory. -
Yes, I think I read that they can evolve some resistance. Apparently, brass doorknobs (same action as silver) can keep pathogens down on them within hours and are recommended for public places where many different hands will use the doors. As to the reason for its possible long-term action, I visualise dead skin cells and oils mixing with the metal ions in the brass and eventually forming a very crude germicidal ointment over the doorknob/handle surface simply by people using them; it gets refreshed by manual friction everytime someone uses the handle/knob. A new word for me too.

Certain metal objects, like silver and brass, exert an oligodynamic effect on their surface and can inhibit the pathogen populations that live on them. I would imagine you would need a pretty large surface area in contact with water to be useful for sterilising amounts of water, and even then, it's surface would require frequent abrasion to reveal a fresh surface to sterilise. with.

How about exchanging 'slow' for 'thorough'? You probably have a perfectionist element. Your writing suggests so; I don't come across many errors... if any. I bet you you scan it multiple times before you hit 'Post'. I do it after. Those that never made a mistake never made anything. Look forward to and embrace your mistakes. You have absolutely no evidence for this or your data set is too small. You need to talk to people more, by whatever means, to get you out of your reverie and to help decide what you think is actually true or not and put them into context. -

I'm only stating what I see as true. If I were you, I wouldn't write off the internet as a means to meet people given that you are a fluent communicator with written words. Women, on the whole, are more mind-orientated whereas men tend towards towards the visual and physical; the internet is an ideal medium to interact with women in the written form as a first step to your desired goal. -
The worst in the affluent First World by a clear margin and well in there with the poorer countries before you get to Belgium; acquired cognitive dissonance and entrenched belief will no doubt prevent you from seeing the obvious in your infographic.,

Well, the IQ test is clearly wrong in what it suggests to you and it doesn't measure the things that matter. You are living proof that Joe Public should stay away from them. A borderline low-intelligence case can not write or express as fluently as you. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder; don't go out with somebody you think is unattractive. -

No problem Bollocks. You are not even near borderline retarded. You need a new mental mirror because it's wrong. You wouldn't be posting here if you were. The thing that separates geniuses from ordinary people is tenacity and dedication to their goal even in in the face of adversity. Hawking is a shining example of that. It takes effort to be a genius and not just intelligent. You want a trophy; arm candy? -
Zapatos' point was clearly lost on you.

I choked on my toast! Awesome and very pictorial analogy; can't beat that.

I'm sure some here could tell you what difficulties they have and the effect it has had on their confidence and ability to interact romantically.... you are not the only one. Don't forget that. Imagine not being able to see. Imagine not being able hear. Imagine not being able to walk. Those are profound. If Steven Hawking can pull women you can. He can't walk or talk and his body is ravaged. My point is that you need to put your problems in perspective relative to other people who manage to have relationships in spite of severe handicaps. I'm severely deaf in both ears but I still get 'out there' and make the most of what I do have. You need to start thinking your glass is half full and not half empty. -
All I can envisage is an unnecessary increase in the number of dead bodies. Guns in lethal scenarios, especially populated areas, need to be used by people that are trained in such situations. "Ah heck, sorry, I thought he was one of the bad guys." News Bulletin: Student shoots teacher after telling him to be quiet ( Kid was having a bad day; his girlfriend split with him)

It was incoherent to you You can't link this to what I said?: I think you are just guiding this discussion to what you want to hear from us to support and reinforce your belief about your problems and the futility of trying solve them. -
You are arguing against the culmination of a century's worth of research by God-knows-how-many brilliant minds. Just because you don't understand it doesn't mean it's wrong and nature couldn't care less either.

You asked what 'ghosted' meant. I answered.I think you need to look at what you've just said and the way you said it, perhaps, you will realise why you don't have a girlfriend. Adios. Edited. -

You've taught me a new word. Yeah... it's not very nice. Going to have to master taking that one. Plenty more fish in the cyber-sea though so it shouldn't have to bug you for too long. As a matter of principle I shall never do it. I'll speak my mind then tell them "That's it... We've hit the deck...etc" then virtually walk away or cut them off, as appropriate; as one would do face-to-face. It's more mature. When somebody drops you suddenly without saying anything and blocks you. It stinks and is a spit-my-dummy-out-juvenile way to behave, imo, but hey-ho it's the internet! -
You don't need to think what are typing if you are fluent at it. You don't think of what you speak. It's your thinking that is getting flimsy and lazy with age. Slow it down.
-
Yes, it seems to me your experience at typing is going faster than you can think now. Fingers still need a brain sychronised to them to write stuff that makes sense... they can't think for themselves
-
Slow down your thinking. Your hands are only writing what you think. That example there suggests to me you are not saying the words to yourself clearly but saying them too quickly. 'Opposition', spoken quickly, could sound like 'option'.
