  1. You can measure the mass of an object if it is moving relative to yourself and it will be the same, as you measured it stationary? Hope that makes sense.

Because velocity is a relation between objects, could one or the other concept be defined by their relative velocities. i.e if velocities are the same, each would measure zero momentum of the other but some different inertial value depending on their differences in mass? in short, are they frame-dependent concepts?
  5. How do they differ? They both seem to imply resistance to change in velocity; direction and/or speed.
  6. This mirror I use is an interesting alternative to the usual handlebar mirrors...it can't get knocked about. It's called a Bike Eye. It takes a bit of getting used to, needing to learn to synchronise when you glance as the right-hand pedal reaches the top.

  11. Yes that's true. Money can't buy love. You could, perhaps, given enough time, learn to love someone by sustained conscious effort and increasing familiarity, when you might not otherwise do so naturally. Learn to love the unlovable, so to speak.

      I live very close to the ocean so it's not as extreme in summer as it is in the west. Winters are mild too.

  23. I think that is what he is asserting everyone else is doing: forcing things through a particular lens. Whichever stand one takes, one will usually find data to support that view, consciously or not, especially in sociopolitical matters.
  24. The current 'in' word is "viral". Everything goes viral... that's what social media and media outlets aim to do these days. Any news is "news" if they can achieve it; the quality or veracity of the content is immaterial.
