  1. Like an axiom, there is no 'why' in postulate. It just is.
  2. It's a postulate that happens to hold true on investigation.
  3. I think it is inefficient on time and effort to doubt, by default, what recognised experts say within their field. I go on the basis that any incongruities and falsehoods will soon come to light, if they are there, with reading the works of several experts in the field. I look for consensus and always keep in mind that what appears correct today may well be wrong, or outside its 'domain of validity', tomorrow. This is from my position as an interested amateur.
  4. She's probably holding investors money... it's not hers. She likely offered shares based on a promise..
  5. If you observe, with photons say, you are most likely altering the electrons energy and hence their measured behaviour.
  6. Given the right conditions, (even if impractical) can't they be made to react with most elements? The idea being that they are inert under normal conditions of S.T.P.
  7. One of the first difficult steps in good science discussion is overcoming thinking to an emotionally attached personal agenda.
  8. Minimum Energy expenditure, highest energy storage density and structural stability. Sometimes Nature does end up with the most efficient strategy.
  9. We can all fart rainbows, without evidence, 'til the unicorns come home.

    Merry Xmas.
  11. It's how you live with what you've got that matters most.
  12. Mental Illness + Firearms = Petrol + Matches
  13. Thinking outside the box means discovering new correlations within what is already known.
  14. No one is under any obligation to help keep your pet idea alive. The contrary response is normal from this kind of community..
  15. Time is what clocks measure... everything else is philosophy. Let's agonise over the ontology of distance instead and see if we get any further.
  16. It's easier to shoot than run after someone after just having lunch at Maccies.
  17. Is there hints of pareidolia in the OP?
  18. I think B and W's solution to the rear energy problem is the most elegant; tuned lengths and compression to dissipate the energy. https://encrypted-tbn1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTrbTpjEXllGkgg1BA4qCNqTTeOX8rweQNH6hqhXcIrE9RzT3EUjM92nwQ
  19. Found a higher qualilty version; link changed.
  20. Genesis live from Seventies
  21. I think it is a chess game and pertinent to my previous comment... gotta think twice before moving.
  22. I like to see off-the-cuff reactions, as well as thoughtful ones... if we all agreed, we'd have no conversation. My first thought was what Turkey did (from my omnipresent computer) was triple facepalm material... not sensitive to the evolving dynamics of this quite fraught scenario. What's right one day is totally wrong on another; timing is everything.
  23. Yes, just like that. You could also do a Saint of the Month banner for the person that stays the coolest the longest when dealing with creationists.
