Go away Surely the only reactions taking place would be exothermic so it would no longer be absolute zero?

Tyler Durden would have his dream. What if we discovered that Earth was actually toroidal rather than spherical?

I do, but upon trying to sign in I am presented with the following message:
-
I have never known about that google service, I eagerly await the time they begin to take more users.
-
For your statistics gathering you can use a service like Stat Counter, which requires you to paste a small piece of javaScript onto each of your pages.
-
Does anybody have a link to a good site which offers videos of the elements being used?
-
I did not give you written permission! Hahaha of course its fine ecoli, in fact I have updated a newer version which shows random extract from the comic strips (click page to cycle through them), its the same adress just refresh your cache.. Oh, and I should note that it has been optimised for 1152x864 so if your gonna use them you might want to resize if necessary... EDIT: really it works in FF? I think my Firefox has a setting on which doesn't allow javaScript to modify images, its very annoying, I might head over to the moizilazine forums to sort it out...

A random number generating algorithm fails as soon as a similar equation used is applied with the resulting value, that would mean softdragonz that your sine(x) generator would not be very useful whenever dealing with trigonometry. Delphi used: X[n+1]=134775813*X[n] + 1 (mod 2^32), which usuall works unless you use the returned value in some ways with the number 134775813.

I just saw three shooting stars in about a second...
BigMoosie replied to silkworm's topic in The Lounge
I saw one while it was still partly daylight which actually disappeared over the horizon, I not don't think it made it to the ground though. -
You're right I didn't quite realise that when meant. I thought you were making an example of picking a random integer from a finite set. Don't get me wrong I was not trying to undermine mathematical definitions in general.

That kind of clarification seems more relevant to a philosopher than to a mathematician.

Thanks, you have been a great help.
-
Thanks doG that's exactly what I was after. Would you know a way of running that command through a visual basic application?
-
I am in need of what I think would be a very easy app to make in say, visual basic. I need a .exe file that will open 'index.htm' from the same directory as it in full screen (no buttons/scroll bars etc). I would really apprciate it, I have tried but I don't have any idea what to do.

If it is strong enough to pull matter up off of the ground then the attraction between it and the Earth's gravitational field will cause it to come crashing down. Here's a quick question, does magnetism decrease with the inverse square of distance like light and gravity? Does everything follow that pattern?

Hmm... I didnt see this thread when I posted in the anouncement section.

Never mind though, I don't really know what I was thinking when I posted it, I just snapshotted the various droplet images used and scripted my own animation: http://www.random.abrahamjoffe.com.au/public/JavaScripts/Sin%20City%20Rain/rain.htm (IE only). Sorry for a waste of a thread.
-
I downloaded a screen saver from the sin city website (http://video.movies.go.com/sincity/), it installs a .src file which is runs a flash animation of a background of rain with images fading up ontop of it. I am interested in extracting the background of this file. I have tried reshack without luck and anything else I try is useless, is there a program to help me do this?
-
EDIT: accidental post
-
It is possible to use a custom .htm webpage as your background, this way you could even have a movie file playing on the desktop, I use this with JavaScript to create interactive background apps such as image rotations / timetable viewer / music player, I even wrote a code that uses AJAX to dynamically fetch images from major wallpaper sites. Just be sure to create a container <A> tag otherwise your onclick events will not trigger.

The acute angle θ between two straight lines is given by: [math]\tan \theta = \left| \frac{m_1 - m_2}{1 + m_1 m_2} \right|[/math] Where m1 and m2 are the gradients of the lines.

I found these half equations when searching for info on a lead acid accumilator, the red two was not there until I placed it, was I correct to do so? Anode: Pb(s) + SO42-(aq) → PbSO4(s) + 2e- Cathode: PbO2(s) + 4H+(aq) + SO42-(aq) + 2e- → PbSO4(s) + 2H2O(l) Overall: Pb(s) + PbO2(s) + 2SO42-(aq) + 4H+(aq) → 2PbSO4(s) + 2H2O(l) Also, if anybody has any good links on lead acid accumulators or silver button cells I would really it, thanks.

Most black holes form because of its own massive gravity pulling itself inwards. It is believed that during the big bang many black holes were formed by the pressure around them, these black holes would be unique in that they could have very little mass at all.
