And his family member either a) lied b) hallucinated due to the grief or c) if we are going to be technical it could've just been an illusion created by light reflecting in his family member's hypothetical tears.
I do think that were are not being pulled towards the center of the Earth. We are being either pushed towards the center of the Earth. Or more like falling towards the center of the Earth.
A black hole is likely just a very dense spherical object, that has a gravitational field so strong that not even light can escape it. I do not think that the laws of physics inside it break.
