A wheel and axle are simple machines. A wheel with bearings between the wheel and axle is a slightly more complex machine. Perhaps more importantly, the wheel, bearings and axle are external to each other. Mammals don't evolve, for the most part, detachable parts that can be re-assembled as a machine.

This is a photograph of a human blood stain on an organic (inert) substrate. As I am no expert in this field, what am I looking at? and what is the "winding" in the middle of the photo.. does blood present like this under magnification?

Can someone recommend the appropriate forum to consider or identify what this image contains. I esitmate this image is a 150 - 300 x image of human blood on an organic substrate. The photo was taken with a $400 celestron miscroscope. Can someone explain what I am looking at?
