Wouldn't a railess railgun be just a gun? A coilgun works in a similar fashion without the projectile touching the sides and I suppose you could look into mass drivers too. Right, well... Were all familiar with most films including this scenario involve some guy in a spaceship or whatever colliding into an asteroid or acidic blood from zenomorphs burning a hole in his ship. Suddenly WHOOOOSH! he's sucked out of a hole and thrown into the vacuum of space; and this is where my problem begins. I'd been of the understanding that because space is empty that theres nothing there to "suck" with, it's really just the pressure within the spaceship "pushing" out and escaping to fill a lower pressure volume, right? If my line of thinking is correct it'd kinda support my second hypothesis of why a spaceship doesn't just get torn apart by the huge vacuum of space trying to get hold of all that atmosphere; Is it just that spaceships don't necessarily need to be that strong once in space (ignoring space debris and the chance of colliding with anything that is!) because the amount of atmosphere within the ship would never be enough to rupture it? I think i know the answer but TL;DR atmosphere in the spaceship pushes outwards and is NOT sucked out by space?

I am refering to this experiment: Though the banding isn't quite as prominent in other cases where I have seen this performed. Perhaps I am missing a certain criteria of the experiment. (something makes me feel this is the rotation of a certain aspect of the experiment but i couldn't say for sure)

Didn't you say the police would only do tests if they found you dead infront of some food? So i'm assuming you found another lab who would run the tests for you. Could you let us know who the lab is and what they said?

I don't know a whole lot about how nuclear fuel works but i'm certainly sure there's a difference between weapon and fuel grade nuclear material. Sorry to hi jack the thread, but media scare mongering leads to statements like this and the fuel in a reactor would really be only any use for a "salted bomb" dirty bombs designed to spread nuclear material NOT cause kilo/megaton sized city destroying explosions. Saying that and considering the above, would the general populace be happy to travel on something the media would have you believe is a giant green glowing, x-men power bestowing nuclear death machine? Hell... media coverage on nuclear power really gets my goat. :: angryface::

Well... I wouldn't say a samurai was heavily armoured, for one, Japanese steel at the time of the samurai ~ 1100 to 1600 AD was of inferior quality and hard to come by compared to steel of western europe. In this scenario i'd go with the samurai anyway as ninjas are indeed geared towards infiltration, assasination and spying and not all out warfare. A matchup i'd really like to see is a Samurai vs the same time period equivilent from western Europe. Lets see just how those magical/Legendary and able cut through concrete Katanas are against full plate armour.

What is the general opinion on display of human remains in musems? Originally these people were given a burial according to their religious and cultural beliefs and it would seem to me disrespectful to exhume and display them for the public. There's the argument of course that placing mummies for example in a museum instead of leaving them in their dusty, secluded desert homes is safer and saves them from destruction and theivery as "artefacts" but i still can't get past the fact that Egyptian mummies at the very least have obviously been dealt with ceremoniously (perhaps ice mummies and ones found in peat bogs could be argued differently; or is there evidence of this being a burial practice too?) Although their value in historical research is undeniable i find it somewhat wrong for this to happen. Cases like Lenin, who was recent enough to give consent for his display I am fine with but I would like to see what others opinions on the practice is or if you have any further points you feel we could discuss?
