drop a cunk of lithium in water stick a nail in it so it sinks that will get you hydrogen ina hurry and wont ignite like potassium or sodium unless you use very thin pieces. i get all my lithium froma abttery store... just ask the guys for dead lithium batteries( camera kind not those lil disks) cut them open ans pull out the strips. use mineral spirits or a very light oil cuz lithium is an alkali metal and will oxidize very quickly. a little oxygen and water absorber found in some food packs is really helpfull too

i need to take back that lst post that was stupid... dont do that unless u got satisfactory ventilation the fumes are highly toxic

i always found memorizing the table useful for tests and stuff, the skill really shines tho if you are into a lot of chemistry and dont have a PT on you at the moment

hey im 13 an have already memorized the table its not hard just get the families down and go top to bottom the hard part is the actinides and lanthinides.

ive heard froma few sources that lithium will absorb the oxides chlorides adn other "ides" from other transition and alkali metals and leave the existing metal in its semi pure state. i have a buttload of lithium culled from a huge amount of battery picking... i want sodium and soem of the other alkali metals whats the process can anyone help?

yo u know if you can get your hands on that magnesium powder it and adda few drops of silver nitrate in water it will spontainiously ignite... its hwat they use in flashbang (stun) grenades

yo people out there who are playing with that gallium metal like u do with mercury i wouldnt advise it it may be less toxic but it stil vapoizes and can damage your skin.... an excess can cause stroke

yo anyone here know where to get a hold of ptassium nitrate.... i cant find it anywhere but online. by the way the potassium nitrate and sugar/ sucrose thing thats a great recipe for smokebombs u just need to melt the sugar and add the nitrate
