Today my biology teacher said that psychic connections can be explained by one brain picking up on the electrical and magnetic fields of another (hence seeing their thoughts). It occurs naturally with people you know well, such as husband and wife, family, close friends, that you will say something you are thinking and that person will say they were just thinking the exact thing. I have had this happen to me before, and the line of thought shared is often not an invevitable addititon on communication currently taking place. This makes sense to me, but i was not aware that the electrical fields of the brain were powerful enough to be comprehensively detected and communicated from one person to another. What do you know?

I dont know who that is, i looked him up on google, evidently something do with a tv episode or something, probably a dumb one (i dont know i've never seen it). So could that occur, a planet with a dense core, but total only half size of earth(for example), to be of the same gravity? Or would it at least be possible and be able to sustain life? And if it could occur naturally, how would it have happened? Just wondering cuz it would be interesting to think about. Or would the increased density have some other effect that would not allow life to survive? If there is no problem with this , could somehow, we in space create artificial gravity by severely compressing matter---- come to think of it that sounds dangerous, plus where'd you get all the matter from? So forget that last question. (requesting so may doom it to be the only question answered).

hey that reminds me of a time i was disecting an old phone, and the reciever where sound comes from, was nothing more than a coil of thin copper thread in between two circular magnets. How does that produce sound?

sorry for attacking the new member. like i said he attacked me first . . . . or well i think i might have remembered him doing that, there was some conflict between us anyway i remember. Sorry anyway your right, that was stupid and needless of me

isn't mazer rackam that war vetren dude in Enders Game, been a while since i read that, but it was a pretty good book---- actually it was pretty awesome. Hey by the way i'm the same religion as Orson, pretty cool eh? Lots of people dis our religion, maybe he makes it cool (which is dumb, but what can you do?).

congradulating guys daughter? He had this one hilarious picture i that looked proffesional and i swore it was something from comercials (as modern comercials are competition of cuteness and such to win our sympathy and support thus buying a product), maybe an insurance comercial. So i asked if i could make a custom T-Shirt with that picture, and he said he'd murder me. Which i totally commend him for protecting his daughter, i wouldn't have suggested it if i had known. Demosthenes, i remember you . . . . why in Hades are you here? I do not welcome you! not yet anyway, i think i recall you calling me fool or something as most people do upon my introducing myself. I wont hold it against you in the end, but it could take me time . . . .

so lower pressure within an atmosphere, we would still be able to live? ANYWAY though that wasn't my most important question darnit. No hard feelings though.

well this might not have much application in real life, except adding credibility to a science fiction concept, but i was wondering----- would it be possible that if a small planet, say half the size of earth had a core (not the whole thing so dense so life couldn't develop(well i guess that doesn't matter a ton, but it would make the possibility more interesting)) of a certain mass dense enough that it could have gravity equal to earth (but the planet itself being significantly smaller). Or would such great masses (actually that would still be a lot less than something like a black whole) crunch down the matter around it to equal density, or something? What could possibly produce such an occurance naturally? What impact would this have on life? ----- then how important is gravity to the fromation of life (pretty important i know, but i wonder what the limits are), say a creature on a planet with a significantly greater gravity came to earth, it would probably have strength superior to anything here (having adapted in harsher condition), or does difference in gravity effect pressure enough that the creature would explode in our atmosphere, as we would implode (isn't that what would happen) in theirs? Please answer the earlier questions first, though i'd like them all answered i know its a lot, and so my latter questions i can conclude myself with a basis of knowledge from the first ones.

sorry if my last reply before this appeared to be in reply to the reply you posted after my first on this thread----- i meant to put the two posts next to each other, but evidently you sent one in inbetween the time i was writing my second. Doesn't appear it confused you or anyone, anyway thats what happened

what i mean about what can naturally cause it (since this was already explained) is why it would occur at such a specific place as any haunted house. What connection does a house have to that phenomoenon, or else wouldn't it be very unlikely to have it occur where a house happens to be built? And there are haunted houses just about everywhere you go where there are houses. Of coarse then again not all abandoned houses are haunted (though there is one on the mountain near me) theres also a thrice condemned house (stuctural problems) in my neighborhood, and far as i know there are no supernatural experiences related to it. Maybe i should make up some stories and spread them around. Anyway the occurance of 'haunted houses' is still to high to be said that a natural phenomenon coincindentally is placed in the location. Which is why i wonder if what factor would specifically link something to do with a house to production of things such as super low sound.

So i already mentioned this in another post--- a machine that oscilates a sheet of alluminum(and sand poured on it) to demonstrate standing waves. I swore i felt it in my gut and was afraid my inards would explode or something. It was really weird. Anyone know what that machine was called? So why do these frequency sounds occur at certain places such as a haunted house? Speaking of lightening we had a really cool thunder storm last saturday night (sunday morning actually, but pitch black), there was an almost constant flicker of lightnening and a sound of thunder. A few times it came in such rapid processions that it nearly looked like daylight. My house is on the edge of a forrest hollow (with a deep resevior on one side of it) so it looked really awesome. How close do you have to be to the lightening for the frequency to effect you?

Cool. Doesn't seem that freaky. Well maybe its not ethical, but science isn't about ethics is it? It'll give us definate advantages. HUGE ones actually, that could majorly expand power and efficiency and communication, whatever they pursue after. Actually that is sick that the first application of this power is in the field of war. The art of murder. Well thats a narrow-minded way to put it, maybe war is nessisary, but you know what i mean.

What if the aliens view Russia as aggressive invaders and destroy them, then come to earth to wreak havoc?!

hey dude i've been to hackernetwork before---- whats up with that place? Some say its about hacking, some say it isn't, what IS it about?

yeah i saw you could download the OS alone, but i figured some manuals and stuff would be more useful, besides its not that much money.

ok i'll get some books, but i don't think it will be that hard to learn a new system. So i looked at some linux versions on Amazon, looks like Red Hat or Mandrake Powerpack would be the coolest (well suse looks good for gaming, but thats not what i'm looking for right now) Actually i think mandrake looks the best, but redhat says its "the ideal OS for home computing and technology enthusiasts" why is this? It looks like mandrake has lots better stuff. Some of the versions say 'no OS' what does that mean? (says this about suse, but not mandrake) I know that means no operating system, but what does that mean? Linux IS an operating system.

neanderthals are MY ancestors (evidently). Actually i heard their brains were aproximately as big as humans, just composed to work differently. OK so then whatever our last ancestors were (cro magnum? homo erectus? I could look it up, i dont care) why does a distict species even exist , evolution being gradual. You said what defines a species is that it can no longer interbreed, and what causes this change? Is it some mathmatical structural shift within the DNA for some reason. So what makes the transitional species so inferior that their remains are not left behind? How does one species shift into another suddenly? I feel i'm being redundant, i'm just trying to explain what my question meant. You can say that we dont really know the answer if thats the truth.

but i linux is a more stable system that gives you more control over your computer ---- wouldn't such freedoms be ideal for computer mastery? That is why i want to change. Like i said i know NOTHING about programming. I've heard the names of a few languages, but i've never used any so i don't know what i prefer. Once i downloaded java, and it like didn't work or something so i deleted it.

Fine then i'll just get it of kazaa and not feel guilty because i didn't know if it was a version i was supposed to pay for. Besides if i gain useful skills that can contribute to the computer world or whatever it will be like working it off.

The machine (of which name i do not know and didn't think to ask, and now the one who knows is gone) has to do with a concept i will ask about in a second. So my physics teacher last year (who this year has taken a leave(why or where to no one knows)) showed us this machine, its a box with a rod sticking out of it. You turn on the machine and the rod goes up and down (like a piston i guess) there is a dial to turn up the frequency. An aluminum sheet attaches to the the rod. At high frequencies (that i swore i could feel vibrating my guts and was afraid one of my organs would explode) sand is poured on the sheet and it shifts to fit wave paterns (exactly how it works i dont know, but i saw it), then as he turns up the frequency more that patterns shift (not gradually, but all at once it appears). to different ones rapidly with each increasing increment. Very cool to see, i would love to take this and a generator back a few hundred years and watch people a accuse me of witch craft (or wizard craft, me being male?). Now the evolution question and i'll tie it in with the machine soon. If evolution is a gradual thing, why are there even seperate species? Wouldn't fossil records show so many extremely slight changes that it wouldn't be possible to classify anything as a species, but in degrees of diversion from an original ancestor? Or does the reason there are seperate species have a mathmatical, structural reason. Such as at a certain point the DNA would suddenly reach a point to make a distinct shift (like the patterns of the machine changed distinctly and suddenly, not suddenly (it had something to do with standing waves, but its the concept of sudden shifting i mean to refer to)). If you still dont understand exactly what i'm asking, i'll put it this way: wasn't our last evolutionary distinct ancestor the neanderthals? If evolution is gradual, wouldn't there be so many gradual improvements from neaderthal to human, that giving any species a name is just a fictional fabricaded label of one level of change that is no more detectibly different than another. Which isn't true because there ARE seperate species. So here it is as simple as possible, and all that other crap is only perhaps uneeeded elaboration : if evolution is gradual, why are there seperate species, instead of everything in between?

how does programming work? To me its one of the mystical phenomenons i hear of and know nothing about. What is you unique style? I envey your magical programming powers. Where do i start the path (i posted a thread on this once before and some people said the first step is to use linux, since its more stable and is open source) So how much does linux cost for a personal PC (i've seen some versions of it cost thousands but i am hoping this just for buisness applications) I might as well get it off Kazaa, but if it really is an expensive product (got the concept it was cheaper than windows, but haven't found a download for it or what the prices are) i dont know if i'd feel right stealing that much software.

Amen, i'm proud to be a member of these forums, haven't really found any other forums that were much more than a waste of time (like you said). That comes to another question, does any one know of any other forums worthy to be visited by the inhabitants of this exalted online community?
