Someone needs to invent a camera with two eyes, simulating our vision----- or would that not work because pictures are two dimenstional? Maybe someone needs to invent 3 dimensional pictures then--- and how would that be done? are hollograms really possible (if so would they be practical for use by your average jo), and what is a possible alternative to hollograms?

holy crap, i don't have the attention span today. Awesome post though, i will come back to read it sometime (bookmark it for now), i bet i'll be enlightened to the state of expert scientist the day i finish reading all that, whatever it is, i stopped after the first paragraph.

a while ago i posted something about aspiring to be a hacker, and asking for a someone to magically hand me the keys to transform myself into such an elite. Well now i have some specific question, so hopefully i may get more specific answers. What exactly is linux? I understand it is a an operating system, but what makes it different than DOS--- maybe a stupid question, but MS DOS is all i'v known (well and windows, but is that an operating system, and i've also had a little experience on macontosh). Please tell me as much about it and how it works as you can. What exactly is open source, so far i see its something to do with the users of a software having the freedom to evolve it as they wish-- but please more info (perhaps in the end i would buy some extensive books, but i at least want some knowledge now so i will know the potential of what in depth of such knowledge would do) . And finally---- all this having to do with operating systems, how is an operating system born? Does it essentially begin with using equiptment to orient on the physical level, or is there a base system, like an operating operating system or something used to develop it---- OR IS linux the means of such power? Linux appears to be incredibly brilliant and useful creation, but i don't really know what it is, so hence i present the inquiry to the forum.

Well actually you do see a significant amount of nudity on TV, i guess not fully, but they take it to the limit. But i do agree with you that its pretty backward. Violence sucks, but i know that i would be looked down on a lot more for seeing a movie with nudity than one with excessive amounts of violence.

I actually agree with you that it is a self destructive statement, but still noone has been able do truly destroy it truth. Perhaps it is possible to proove the fact of uncertainty away by some very creative mentality, but thus far it has not manifest itself. I find it a freedom giving statement, really actually valueless though. It simply means we must choose for ourselves, the important addition though is that it means (as i see it) that we should make decisions we do not feel are right (with or without being able to tell why) just because we feel obligated. I was brought up religously, but i have a mentality completely different than most religous people, so maybe that gives me hope. I have been athiest before, but i see no benefit in such faiths. Still a testimony for love of a spouse and children as the answer to solve the worlds problems is my soul faith above all else almost. Thank you for not judging me.

I'm not sure your exactly correct that i am uncritical, but it so what is the exact critical value of criticality, in certain instances against others. Being critical is good, but what if in some instances it is only an illusion. I hold other beliefs that i would accept as debatable, but not my beliefs about family and love. What is wrong with this? Can you please critically explain what function of love makes it a faulty way of thinking? Is it that it is too 'abstract' to be made scientifically experimentable? Nothing can be prooven, anything you believe in is about faith anyway (simple fact (yet many people deny it for some reason)), so i do not accept that answer. I believe that emotion is a fluid and more efficient way of thinking than being critical--- but along with its power if used correctly, it is immessely easy to incorrectly read and respond to emotion. But i believe you also have the power to sense if your judgements are correct, some people will deny this to survive the few flaws they feel but feel obligated to ignore. --- As i said though this belief of mine i am less sure of than the one ocuping my previous post. That belief i will hold forever and noone will ever convince me otherwise, though i am willing to listen, i am set in my knowledge that love is the answer. I may not live up to my knowledge as well as i possibly can (i'm only 16 right now though, i have time to grow up) i know it is solid.

I strongly disagree, i somewhat believe that it is possible as a last resort, but not in dealing with children. Violence is most often if not always a misjudgement, and more often then that simply anger. How do you know the offender will respond to violence against them? Please show me one bit of evidence where this truly worked. Some people are too the point where they wont repond to anything, and so violence is the means disabling therefore controlling them to prevent them causing more damage---- it still doesn't change the problem. And as i said before, this response does not apply in parenting. A child is born with no such malicious intents, so i believe that a caring, loving parent will take the time to use their intelligence to support the growth of beauty against dissfunction that settles when misunderstanding arises. It is the parents responsibility to determine all these things, yes a child eventually becomes a parent, and so it is a matter of freedom of choice as well, but a loving parent will do everything in their power to provide an enviroment where growth into being a functional person, who will grow to be a loving parent, is most possible. This is about the strongest belief i hold. Always have hope and faith in the better way.

that could be cool. People would probably want extra arms though, that ear thing sounds weird. Don't know if its ethical, but sounds kind of neat. I bet some people would prosethetisize themselves to look like those hindu gods that have all sorts of extra limbs.

i did not entirely understand what you just said but i wil reply according to what i do understand. You may have never been in reality, how do you know this is indistiguisable from it. As for saying that this is a form of reality, and experiments in it are at least consistent with this illusion---- this is not neccisarily so. Past occurace is not precedant for future in an unknown system. Reality may be entirely deceptive, the stone COULD fall up. I dont believe that the depressing truth is we are doomed to be decieved, i mean to say we should be careful how we think, lest we allow ourselves be decieved. The purpose of the uncertainty theory is to show there is no reason to make choices according to anything other than your own best judgement.

i know what you mean (are we talking about life in general or stars specifically(i mean life in general(you may think its weird for me to connect two 'unrelated' things but thats just the way i think))) often it seems there are so many more hopeless things in my life that even if happiness exists, its wont be something i can ever attain. But then there a few things that completely contradict this feeling, those few factors are what keep me alive.

so that means there is not a flaw in the system? but you dont even have to figure it out to know that the only two possibilities are error in use of the system or flaw of the system itself. I know one is not the same thing as 9 unless someone show me some complex concept that prooves it so.

it may be pointless to make this point again, but according to the theory there is exactly as much evidence of matrixplugged rhinos as there is evidence for anyting. Dont get me wrong that i AM unsure, but my belief that nobody is really a rhino is my own faith, it is not invariably (or to any degree of viability to be exact) supported by any evidence. Lets lay this thread to rest when someone says---- this is true, but i believe as i do because i want to, or for whatever reason you believe what you do. thats a lot relating to daves current post, i've heard that story before. As i remember it is a flaw in our system of math, but i'm not sure if i'm smart enough to explain how or why. Or maybe i just haven't thought hard enough, i'll tell you if i figure it out. How old are you? In 7th grade i stayed after school everyday for algebra help (we did prealgebra in 6th at my elementary), and now i'm doing (recently i did actually(its summer))just fine in precalculus, going onto calculus next year (11th). I'm sure you will figure it out if you work hard enough. Work is what makes the difference, I got Cs and Ds in 9th (in math) and just decided to work harder this year and i got Bs, could have probably got As if i wanted to, but to be honost i didn't think it was worth it, we'll see what happens next year. I do remember beginning algebra was the hardest though, but once you get a hang of it, everything then on will just be matter of how you are willing to work.

1 does not = 2 or 9. one is one. I have one head, only one, not two, and certainly not 9. If the equation says that (even if i could understand it i dont care to think about it, its summer) then it is a flaw in the mathmatical system, because 1 is one, this is physically backed everywhere. Look at your computer monitor as you read this. You have one computer monitor, go buy 8 more and tell me this is not different. How does 1=9? Tricks are all nice and good, and it maybe funny to show that our system is flawed, but it is that, proof of flaw, not proof of nonsense. Of coarse if you know me i think proof is impossible to proove anyway, but i think most people would agree with my faith that one is one, not 2 or 9. Unless you can explain how (i am open to listening), i'm sticking to that belief.

ok i am getting the idea of certain things that can be disproven, but i still feel it is potentially debatable. How do you know you are not rhino plugged into the matrix and illuded to think you are human. I guess you could say you appear to not be a rhino, but i still refuse to give my surity to just about anything, until i am sure, and i am not sure you are not a rhino. I am not sure what you appear to be either, perhaps i am looking at you in the wrong way, and if i were to think about it propperly the truth of all human impersonating rhinos would be revealed. Wasn't e=mc^2 derived mathmetically (because i doubt einstien did any nuclear experimentation), well then i guess i agree with that. i dont see how anything can be prooven wrong either. Yes the matrix has influenced my thinking, but actually that thing with the stone, is something i thought about completely independantly before seeing that segment on the video game. I used a pencil in my theory (of coarse it could be anything, its the concept that matter of coarse), and then when i saw that, it was so radical because i absoluletly agree. I guess i mentioned the rabit hole because it partially is something i feel. It would be much easier if there was a path already laid for me to follow to find that which i vaguely imagine. I think though i have found i must dig some of the way on my own to build the character to survive the journey. Where my mentality diverges from the matrix is i hope these things must not be kept in darkness and secrecy, that wouldn't really be a solution to the world i know there must be more to. That may be your faith but as far as can be absolutely prooven it is exactly as likely. Or if you like the word evidence better, as far as there is any substantiated evidence it is exactly as likely. Its as if there is some sort of magical way you are connected overseas. do you have crystal balls that are in tune with our country? Seriously, don't you have plenty of your own music and such, how do you ever hear about ours? Or is our music not as big over there? OR is you land just not blessed with any talent so you have to survive off ours. I mean you only got Coldplay, and U2, thats it, there are no other european bands in existence.

The way i see it is if i have one apple, and I gain an apple while keeping the original, i now have two apples. Is this debatable? Ok fine call it evidence--- you recieve evidence through your senses, you senses send signals to your brain, your intrepret them. How can you be sure you are reading these signals correctly, or that they are even coming from real interaction with a real enviroment. Have you read all the posts? I know they are tediously redundant probably, but you would not say such things if you saw them already addressed. I think i should stop talking so much and just ask one question at a time if i am ever to get an answer. BTW i know the scientific method, how do you know your experimentation is being done in a real universe, or that you actually have power to accurately calculate conclusions based on the electrical input to your brain?
