Remind Me: Silver Nitrate + Halide - Precipitate Colours
RyanJ posted a topic in Inorganic Chemistry
Remind Me: Silver Nitrate + Halide - Precipitate Colours Can somone remind me the precipiate colours? I seem too have forgotten them... This is for the tests by which you can identify them through adding the solutions of the halide salt and the Silver Nitrate. Fluoride = Soluable Chloride = Milky White? Bromide = ? Iodide = ? Thanks for the help, this is bugging the hell out of me, Ryan Jones -
Everyone gets wrong, even the ones who know the most... Did you look at the date of this article, its very old now: 19:00 14 July 2004 Anyway, its hard not too believe someone who knows so much Cheers, Ryan Jones

Can hydrogen really form more compounds than Carbon?
RyanJ replied to budullewraagh's topic in Chemistry
Indeed it can, atleast according too Chemistry Of The Elements Apparrently its because Hydrogen is present in all organic compounds and then it forms hydroxides, hydrides and many more with just about every other element.... Cheers, Ryan Jones -

asking for a programming project planning method...
RyanJ replied to albertlee's topic in Computer Science
Oh boy these things can be a pain. 1) Always remember to do things in sequence. 2) Make shure they follow logical input and output processes. 3) Make shure you know what you want at the end otherwise you'll just end up changing it over and over... OpenOffice.org - I don't ever use Office so I would not reccomend it Cheers, Ryan Jones -
I'm not shure but the name could be reserved, try changing the name and see if that fixes it Also, this may help you some: http://home.cogeco.ca/~ve3ll/jatutor0.htm Cheers, Ryan Jones

I'm afraid what I posted is as much as I know.... Here are some links that may help you though http://tellurium.chem.ox.ac.uk/Ketones/defaultf.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ketone http://chemed.chem.purdue.edu/genchem/topicreview/bp/2organic/aldehyde.html http://ull.chemistry.uakron.edu/genobc/Chapter_14/ Cheers, Ryan Jones

Well... ketones can be created by oxidation of secondary alcohols but it requires a very strong oxidant such as Potassiun Dichromate to make it occur... I'm not shure if just leaving it in the open would work though :S Cheers, Ryan Jones

Sweet, good job Cheers, Ryan Jones -
Hmm, you'd need some sort of super dense, space warping mass too "slow down" time in the relative frame. Jdurg - do you happen to have a black hole handy because then you could probably keep some fo the tripple letters Cheers, Ryan Jones
-
Thats sweet, you'll be able too try and arrange them in differnt ways and play spell with the emenents now This yeay I intend too start my collection too - pitty you can't actually get all the double letter elements as some of them are too radioactive Cheers, Ryan Jones
-
Put them in a sealed container. Before you use the petri dish also leave it under UV light for a few days before as that should kil most of the bacteria that are on there already Cheers, Ryan Jones

So no programs can access the internet? Have you tried the Norton FAQ's for example, those are a good place too start http://www.symantec.com/techsupp/home_homeoffice/products/npf/npf_2006/index.html Cheers, Ryan Jones

There are always accidents, while dound an experiment with sugar and potassiun chlorate the test tube in which the reaction was occuring got so hot it started too crack I'm shure the experts have better ones than that though Cheers, Ryan Jones
