Why not use a form of egergy that is derrived from our body heat? There is certainly enough of it to power milions of little nanobots and the temperature would still not change because these things will never be 100% efficient and so will always loose heat when they work. Cheers, Ryan Jones

I agree with you, it does not have to be - any gas that is ionizes is actually classed as plasma. Cheers, Ryan Jones

I think it has, minute changes and deviations in it glass temperature have a starting effect (same as larger temperature differenes just in small scale) which should then give the untrasonic sounds the ability to shatter it... maybe something worth testing out but has it been proves, I read it had but I'm not shure. I'll have to remind myself to book the school lab for tomorow so I can have a go. Cheers, Ryan Jones

A combination of some unltrasonic sounds and thermal differences (even small ones) could be responsibe when applied at the same time. Cheers, Ryan Jones

I have no idea if this is even possible/plausible/feasible

Those are acronyms for Peripheral Component Interconnect and Universal Serial Bus respectivley. Cheers, Ryan Jones -
Carcinogens may cause cancer by altering cellular metabolism or damaging DNA directly in cells, which interferes with normal biological processes. Usually cells are able to detect this and attempt to repair the DNA; if they cannot, they may undergo programmed cell death to protect the organism. I don't think we are really shure exactly how they work but they affect the cellular metabolism and can cause damage to the DNA resulting in loss of functionality and death of the cell or extreme multiplication. Cheers, Ryan Jones

Good point, no-one is actually shure if it exists, right nw it is thought that it must exist to account for apparent observations Cheers, Ryan Jones

So, Wikipedia seems to agree witht hat statement anyway, it says noting about potential super-heating http://en.wikipedia.com/wiki/Plasma Cheers, Ryan Jones

Why is there no forum for (insert field here)?

How many people actually talk about econmics? There will have to be quite a few for the forums to be added. I hear its quite a complex area, I'll be avoiding it should it get added! Cheers, Ryan Jones -
Banned because as soon as you give someone the ability to use something they presume you automatically give them the ability to abuse it too... Cheers, Ryan Jones

Its much more possible now than when it was originally concievecd! Nuclear reactors could power the Lazer based weapons (Would require a vast ammount of energy!) and the targeting systems already exist so I'd say its possible right now. I don't think it will happenm though becuase peopel don't like the idea of having potential nuclear bobm above their heads! Cheers, Ryan Jones

Thanks all! sunspot, your description fits perfectly with the information given - a great explination! And your right, small difference in a small molecule make a huge difference! Cheers, Ryan Jones

Thats true, its the subject of my Fact Of The Week In my signature I've heared Copper Oxide thermite is pretty powerful too, apparently its more like flash powder! I've also been doing some more research and it seems the difference in the reactivity of the metals involved has a huge effect onn it, if the product of the two metals reactivities is high then it wil get hotter and burn safter and the opposite if true for a lower product! Cheers, Ryan Jones

I've heared of that chemical before, its diphosphine right? Isn't that chemical quite toxic? Acetylene is also highly flammable too, its used on oxy-acetylent torches to cut and weld things, it will even burn under water. Here are some more (Thanks to a bit of research in my textbooks): Propylene oxide Arsine Acrylonitrile Propargyl chloride Carbon disulfide Dimethylmercury Sodium hydride Potassium nitrate ... There are loads more, I just don't have the time or patience to type them all up Cheers, Ryan Jones

The most powerful explosive explosive known is as a Tritruim fussion bomb and is one of the most descricuve devices created by man! Onle 1 person has been the sole reseptant for 2 Noble prizes. A form of thermite can be used to extract pure Uranium! It is sometimes called the Ames process. Cheers, Ryan Jones

Caesium, Fluorine and Magnesium are all highly combistable as are most of the group I and II elements. I'm not shure there is a most flamable substance because you cna do things like grind them up to make them more flamable! For the rocket, you could try the "One Sasty Sugar Rocket" thread Cheers, Ryan Jones

They don't allow dry ice on planes do they? I heared it would not be allowed because if not stored correctly it can explode. They don't allow preassurised containers either Maybe I'm wrong here but hopefully comeone will correct me. Cheers, Ryan Jones

Why does [acr=Ribonucleiic acid]RNA[/acr] have 5 bases and [acr=Deoxyibonucleiic acid]DNA[/acr] has only 4? I really don't understand why! [acr=Ribonucleiic acid]RNA[/acr] is used in the replication of proteins (Because it can fit through the nuclear pores and the [acr=Deoxyibonucleiic acid]DNA[/acr] cannot) so why would it need to ahve a 5th base when only 4 are needed to complete [acr=Deoxyibonucleiic acid]DNA[/acr]? There must be a reason why it has 5 when [acr=Deoxyibonucleiic acid]DNA[/acr] has only 4 and [acr=Ribonucleiic acid]RNA[/acr] is supposed to be a simpler form of [acr=Deoxyibonucleiic acid]DNA[/acr] so why would it need 5 bases? This question has me stumped and my biology teacher could not provide much information it either so I was wondering if you guys could help answer this! Cheers, Ryan Jones

How do viruses designate targets?

Thanks for pointing that out zyncod, you know your stuff! As far as I know any cell has an antigen but I'm not shure on this either (I bet zyncod will have the answer!) Some links from my database that may provide some information: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antigen http://www.prosci-inc.com/FAQ/Antigen-FAQ.html http://www.bookrags.com/sciences/genetics/antibody-and-antigen-wog.html Cheers, Ryan Jones -
Yup, thats pretty nuts! I'm fine, the shop is only a few doors down from me.... no need for dry ice here its -3 Degrees Centrigrade outside now! My parcel just aarrived with my new chems too, woo. I hared (In the Darwin Awards) that some guy tried to make a Dry Ice Bomb and it exploded (Who would haveguessed that would happen then?) and he had pieces of plastic embedded in his arms and legs - shows you how dnagerous this stuff is in a comfined space!
