  2. This may also be an interesting read for anyone interested in this topic Cheers, Ryan Jones
  3. Or it could mean Replace as in this R should be replaced by something. thats the way out Biol. teacher explained it anyway Cheers, Ryan Jones
  4. I don't have [acr=Attention Deficit Disorder]ADD[/acr] but I can say that this happens too me I can't sleep without my coffee! I also know Attention Deficit Disorder exists because my brother has it... He cant concentrate for more than a minute, two at most. Cheers, Ryan Jones
  5. Ha, I think I get it. So the qualities of each acid are useful in one way but along prove to be useless in this case but when mixed they compament each other (Forming a stable ion) allowing the gold to be dissolved Are there any other acid combinations like this? I've never heared of any others but I'd be interested to know if there are any. Cheers and thanks! Ryan Jones
  6. Why does Aqua Reiga dissolve Gold but neither of its compoents does? There must be a reason - as far as I knw neither Hydrochloric acid nor Nitric Acid dissolve gold and if they do then they don't to it at any impressive rate. So does anyone had a reason why Aqua Reiga does? Cheers, Ryan Jones
  7. Take it from me - Firefox is a hell of a lot more secure Nothing is ever prefect - that would go against human nature to mess things up () but because its oepn source the hackers that find the holes are the ones working for Mozilla and thus it gets patched in days and not years (Or not at all in a lot of MS cases...) Cheers, Ryan Jones
  8. Well, that shure explains honey good Do salt and sugar do have different solubility levels then? Do you happen to know which is more soluable? Cheers, Ryan Jones
  9. And even if it is will will be highly ineffective though it could be possible not that it would work that well.... Cheers, Ryan Jones
  10. Even if you could find a catalyst that could produce Oxygen from soemthing then I stuill think that the petrol vaour would explode with the extra oxygen in the nixture. if you cna find someway to protect the engine and exhaust systems from the Nitric acid (Another catalyst maybe?) then it would probably be a safer option Cheers, Ryan Jones
  11. No, I don't think it would - if you think about it makes perfect sence! If something is saturated in solution then no more of that substance cna dissolve (No more of that substance with that particular solubility rating anyway.) so, if you have another compound it will not dissolve because it has the same solubility and because the solvant is already saturated at that solubility level Cheers, Ryan Jones
  12. Then why on the O2 tanks in school does it have the inflammable notice? I'm confused.... Maybe, as I said its because when it is mixed wiht other things it can cause fires? Cheers, Ryan Jones
  13. Maybe Boron Nitride or one of the carbides? Cheers, Ryan Jones
  14. Oxygen is listed as highly inflamable (Means its very flammable). So yes it is... Its probably because of the fact Oxygen is required for things to burn... ergo if just about anything is put in power or vapour form in Oxygen then it will burn hence its inflamability rating... Cheers, Ryan Jones
  15. Good luck doing this cheaply - science is still searching for the superconductor at room temperature, right now it needs to be cooled down to near absolute zero (0K). There are some good descriptions about this and a good one can be forums here Hope that helps, Ryan Jones
  16. And I would alo like to add that there are a hell of a lot of them, here are a few links that may be of interest to you http://sosnick.uchicago.edu/amino_acids.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amino_acids Cheers, Ryan Jones
  17. Oh, its the bacteria that produde cellulase? Explains why cows have 4 stomachs then! (I think they have 4 ) Cheers, Ryan Jones
  18. Warning: this is a very dangerous idea and should not be tested under any circumstances! Put it this way - you start mixing thisgs with petrol and don't know what your doing you'll blow yourself up. Oxygen is highly flamable! Just about anything will burn in pre oxygen - you mix this stuff with petrol and you'll get a bang but it will not be the one you want... I would seriously suggest you do not do this! Have you ever actually ignited petrol outside of a car - I have and I can tell you it is extermly violatile, it already has a high octane number - you start adding Oxygen to the mix (Oxygen makes thing burn hotter and easier) and you'll probably get an explosion... Please, please do not do this - it could really be very dangerous Cheers, Ryan Jones Cheers, Ryan Jones

Well, these people like to be thorough, if you can write a good preposal and they can see they will look good by helping you then they'll help you Best thing you can do is make a good writeup and a presentation and present it to the - they normally respond well to these Cheers, Ryan Jones
  20. Sweet, never heared of that one before! I know that plants and other animals like Cows (Cows have celulase (sp?) which allows them to break down cellulose) - people do not have this one and so can't digest plant cellulose Thanks for the information! Cheers, Ryan Jones
