I can't imagine T-Rex's hopping foot to foot like in some of the animation. Elephants always have a foot in contact with the ground when they run to smooth the travel. Then I've seen rhinos hop a bit in a charge. Footprints would be useful. Just aman

I saw a picture of neurons in brain material that developed nodule offshoots which might be interpreted as memories or ideas. The quantity of noduless would be associated with the complexity of the brain more than size. I'll take todays laptop over 1985 commodores any day. Just aman

Hawking has made respectable contributions and because of this people want to hear his ideas. That's all they are and shouldn't be quoted as fact. Just aman:nono:

Since Scud missiles are prohibited and Saddam doesn't have any, the Israelis shouldn't mind that he's moving launchers into striking range. Doesn't anybody get the irony of his lies. We have to go in and secure all these things he doesn't have. And common sense says we'll find plenty. Just aman

I can understand France will see it, and one guy in Tasmania cus they know the trick. You look for it with your eyes closed and chant "I believe". Thanks Faf for the progress report. In May we'll here him say, "I meant next year." Thanks for keeping him at a distance. Just aman

Remember the war never really ended and we are still under the terms of the cease fire. It's like he was arrested and is now on probation. He has no rights and can be searched or rearrested just on suspicion of hanging around the wrong crowd. Here in the US if your on probation, you have no choice but to follow the guidlines exactly or go to prison. The other countries that don't support the ultimatum have a lot of other interests besides justice influencing their behaviour. I think Saddam has blown his probation. Just aman

If an observer in a ship entered our solar system towards the Sun at .9999C it would still take quite a while to pass by. Would an observer in the ship even see the Sun or would its radiation be so blue shifted that it would be in the range of x-rays or gamma rays relative to the observer? As things were passed would they switch to red shifting where they could only be detected by radio or microwave antennas? Just curious. Just aman

If Saddam goes to the store and buys silverware, tinfoil, spices, plates, and measuring cups, and I see a receipt for groceries, I'll bet he's got food. If he says his wallet is empty but has been seen spending cash then it's hard to believe he's broke just because he shows me his wallet pocket is bare. He still has 3 other pockets. There are a lot reasons to believe he's a liar. You don't turn your back on an ass that says he's not going to hit you when you face him. War will start, scuds will fly, and Saddam will be shown for who he is. Just aman

This particle does that too. Let's go to my fantastic imaginary lab. as example: a microcosomic particle suspended in the center of a large magnetic cube. Manipulate the fields and the particle moves. Move it fast enough, cycling through every point in the box over and over and space is defined. Give it a pattern so it is cycling but spending a little more time in one area as a percentage of its travels and we see matter. Give that area of apparent matter a pattern and we see an object floating. If the pattern changes in small increments we see time. This is a very simplistic explanation and is only for a close analogy. The particle was motionless to start and only when it moved relative to its starting reference point does time and space begin. It's just the beginning of the explanation but I don't want to bore anybody with the whole thing at once. Just aman

Not until after the particle entered and began to define space. Just aman

It does if you have a really big head and concentrate real hard. A planet travelling near the speed of light from the big bang 14 billion years ago has its own time reference compared to a planet that travelled only 100 miles from that initial point relative to us. Gives me a headache Just aman

Saddams missiles are "delivery systems". Why hasn't the UN said anything about the warhead factories or don't they exist? It doesn't make sense to build one without at least plans for the other. Also Saddam tried to stockpile some atropine and provided Chem suits for his military. This indicates to me he expects to be in contact with his own supplies. War will start, and scuds he doesn't have will fly. Just aman

Just some stuff I've been pondering. My understanding of the big bang is a nearly infinite amount of energy was injected into our empty universe through a near infinitely small point. Through tests today this energy has indications it can effect our universe at speeds faster than light and seems to have the ability to store massive amounts of data relative to time. If I had these properties to work with to build a universe I would keep it simple and never let the initial big bang "particle" expand but have it just stay small and fast. If it travelled our present universe touching every point over and over at near infinite speed following a repeating incremental pattern, then to our awareness we would see our universe passing through time as we do today. Just like how one point on a TV screen at 60 scans a second gives the immpression of a picture. This is extremely more complicated though since it has to calculate the program and effects and interactions on a microcosmic scale to make reality real to us. I tried to keep this short and simple and am not saying this is the way it is, I'm just suggesting this may be and would appreciate some feedback as to what is wrong with this idea. Just aman :help:

They worked in the desert east of Baghdad in '91 hunting scuds on the ground besides a lot of other dirty jobs. They aren't sending us back ups but are joining us with some guys with talent. Just aman

As you approach the speed of light in a ship you flatten to outside stationary observation but appear normal to yourself. If you launched a scout ship and it accelerated ahead you would see it speed ahead normally but an ouside observer would only see the flat disc of your ship with a flat scout ship pressed against its front passing near the speed of light. :embarass: :flame: I posted the below message twice accidently and couldn't delete it because the force is not with me so I erased it. Ignore this and read below. Just aman

Good question Faf and I been researchin too. It's a learn a lot as you go question and ain't being ignored. It's just the answer ain't easy, yet. Thanks for keeping these rusty old gears in my head crankin. Just aman

Where the hell did that come from. We get more true support from the UK when we need it than from a lot of our misguided pacifists in our own congress. You Brits get in trouble and I'll come help cus we stand for the same thing at heart. Just aman

A very active male who has intercourse multiple times with a woman on a good night or long weekend sometimes has tears or abrasions cus willy wears out. these would let the virus in easily. I don't know if that happens with anal sex more frequently? Just aman

I imagine with anal sex there would be all sorts of crap germs attacking the peder and causing small entrances for the virus. Not like in the motherly enviroment of a vagina. Just my opinion. Just aman

Back in '98 the inspectors told Saddam that the missiles he was planning to build were in violation of UN sanctions and to stop immediately. He kicked them out and went ahead or did you miss that. Also now supposedly he poured his VX in a hole in the desert. All he needs to do is point where. Just aman

When we get the humen genome mapped and find the schematic, I hear we can now tell races by DNA, it will be interesting to see if dark skin is a common gene to all with it active in blacks and inactive in whites and why genetically bi-racial children can show either black, white, or be brown. It's got me confused. Just aman

If cockroaches and rats can live anywhere and piss us off and be pests, then machines ain't seen nothing compared to a grubby, hungry, life clinging, desperate, wire snippin, circuit shorting, human. We might get ugly but over time things would work out. Just aman

Our technology has come a long ways and our labs are vastly superior to the days of "I think therefore I am" but the ability to prove oneself is still seemingly out off reach cus nothings impossible. I was fascinated by a Star Trek NG episode where a holodeck subject tried to be real, and even at the layer he was finally by consensus real, he was still buried in another holodeck program. I think we are real but our imaginations are outrunning the fact since we have so little data on the subject. The curse of science is little data and minds that have so much room for it. Just aman

You mean it's kinda shaped like a fat persons fart in a plastic chair at a nudist colony. Now it makes sense. Thanks :banme: Just aman
