  1. That takes an enourmous amount of energy also. Easy energy is the key. Just aman
  2. It depends on how fast the doors are first. If it is sub-light speed then relative to Jim the closest door will operate at a different time then the farthest door so if he times it right he will get through both Just my observations. Also on the rocket question the rocket could enter the dock and fit, meaning the nose would hit the back wall at the same relative time that the fins cleared the entrance as observed by the station. Just aman
  3. We use gigawatts of energy at CERN to accelerate protons to near the speed of light. These aren't even atoms and are an almost undetectable amount of mass. Imagine then what kind of energy would be needed on our scale to accelerate a pinhead. We have to consider tons of mass. Just aman
  4. Ya, Thanks Soulja. You put a lot of work into it. Gotta think on it. Just aman
  5. The squeeky wheel gets the greese. I don't know what other option they have when they are blocked from legal avenues. As long as it is just a burr on the butt and inconvenience to make the news and not a real danger. It beats terrorism to make a point. There is never an excuse for terrorism. Just aman
  6. Hope to see you in a couple a days after your hangover. Pardeee:bravo: :bravo: :bravo: :bravo: :bravo: You only get to be old once. Just aman
  7. The earliest cases on record for HIV date back to the 80's. It's sexually transmitted and also blood born. It got in the blood supply. Drug needles spread it also. Over a few years and with our transportations systems making it a small world the spread of HIV seems reasonable since it wasn't detected until it already reached epidemic. Just aman
  8. So what is your estimation? 10% genetic, 40% hormonal, 50% cultural or circumstance? That makes sense to me. Just aman
  9. I think people will work for the reward of somebody saying you did a good job. Losers don't here that very often and can easily led even if the praise uses them. Their used but still belong. Our schools need to be able to spend time with the losers as well as the easy achievers, pointing them to constructive lifes. Our prison system also need a lot of work. Just aman

    Geology

My newspaper here in NE. just had an article about an asteroid hitting the atmosphere over the Mediterranean with the force of the bomb on Hiroshima. They said it was a common occurance but could only usually be detected by the new satellites. It would have been a disaster if it happened over India and Pakistan during the tension. I think asteroids are our greatest threat. Just aman
  11. We need some constructive ideal for ignorant or easily led people to follow fanatically. A lot of them just want to belong to something. Socially there needs to be an alternative that's different but productive. I don't know what it could be. Just aman
  12. I agree I did seem to see a larger male homosexual population in South America but it seems most of the married men stayed home so it was no true indicator. The women I met were very heterosexual. In some of the prisons it was good to band with the heterosexuals and we needed weapons to protect ourselves. Just aman
  13. I want to die peacefully in my sleep like Grandpa, not like his screaming passengers. I hope your sleeping as a passenger in the car. I imagine the twitching is because you wake in totally unfamiliar circumstances from your normal prone bed posture. I've had my head jerk violently in class when I nod off and wake suddenly. Heroin junkies call it nodding. I'd say cut back on the Heroin. Just aman:banme: :D
  14. I agree hormones make a difference in development, but I bet a majority of the homosexuals we see out in the open are the culturally changed kind. Our new culture is very confusing and there are many susceptable people out there. It's sad that it's so easy to push individuals to the edge and they go willingly. Homosexuality, obesity, and fanatacism. Just may opinion. Just aman

    Immortality?

I've seen in many survival situations that there is really more to life than just what we experience. It's subjective but in my experiences I believe there is a next level to move on to. Something more than this. I'm in no hurry to get there but I personally have been convinced. Not by dogma or cons but by nature and circumstance. It's just my opinion. Just aman
  17. I said that it was more related to the hormones in agreement with you during gestation but that there are recorded gross genetic problems to deal with also. Then after birth there are the social influences and pressures. Maybe there are natural born homosexuals and there are cultural homosexuals. Just aman :flame:
  18. I don't have any problem with extending the lives of exceptionally useful people. I hate to see a lifetime of scientific experience lost just because a researcher gets old. Just aman
  19. I wonder if one of the Pioneer explorers might be going by it? To bad we didn't equip it with longer lasting power. Just aman
  20. It's wonderful to detect the effects of Neutrinos but we still can't capture them or effect them yet. That's the breakthrough that will knock science on its ass. Just aman
  21. I think it is more hormone related. Depending on hormones children can be born with both sets of sex organs. Normal acting men can have XY chromosomes. Some women can have XX. I think it all depends on the hormones they are exposed to in the womb. This makes more sense to me than a genetic tendency. Just aman
  22. The building of viruses was by pieces they bought from a lab. The lab did not build the pieces but broke previously whole viruses up into pieces and then multiplied the pieces so they had a stock of them sorted to sell. A group only bought some of the duplicated pieces and put them back together again. We still can't put one together from scratch. Just aman
  23. Thanks Sayonara. As long as it didn't just arrive I feel comfortable and educated. Wish I had the means to search for more. Just aman
  24. Ya, it's kinda like using dynamite in a crowded building to kill a fly. Nobody could be that stupid. Just aman
