[hide]A road or path?[/hide] If I happen to be right... (or even if not, because people seem to be posting.) This thing all things devours: Birds, beasts, trees, flowers; Gnaws iron, bites steal; Grinds hard stones to meal; Slays king, ruins town, and beats high mountain down.

There doesn't seem to be a thread for sharing these, so I'll start one and go first. Actually, I've never had one before last night, and before last night, I first read about Lucid Dreaming here... I was at Troy during the War of Troy. I was fighting Achillies (Brad Pit mind you). When de delivered what should have been the final blow, his sword broke for no reason on my chest. Suddenly, I realized that although I was on my knees because he'd slashed my legs, that I was completely fine. Suddenly, I realized the sillyness of me being at Troy, realized I was dreaming and offered Achillies a piece of my cake which had suddenly appeared. Then the booze came out and we were all laughing about good times, and then I woke up. He he... I offered Achillies cake...

Look back a bit at a thread entitled Properties of Creationists. If that thread didn't deserve to be closed (and I don't think it did), than this certainly doesn't.

Nicholas... for using the same, flawed argument over and over and over...

stress, *** yes. Caffine, not really. I have a 20oz of pop a day, usually Diet Dr. Pepper or something like that that isn't too bad on it (Like Mt. Dew for instance). No, no stimulants. -
people trying to find people who share common views and/or can actually hold intellegent conversations on a subject for which said fourm is made for... One who feels socially outcast is especially attracted to fourms of other social outcasts, becuase people on the fourm actually understand them. Just some guesses... As for being addicted... I can stop whenever I want... I just don't want to

I've been having a problem...
BobbyJoeCool replied to BobbyJoeCool's topic in Psychiatry and Psychology
how might you suggest curing what you described? how did you anyway (if you did...) Cuz, I definatly start school in 8 days, and I can't afford to be like this. It's already effecting me at work, and if it effects me at school, I'll be completely screwed. -
Over the past month or so, I haven't slept much at all. It's been an average of like 4-6 hours a night, with sometimes not being able to sleep at all and other times sleeping for 18 hours or so straight (waking up once or twice but immediatly afterwords). Generally, I'm really tired/exausted and want to go to sleep, but when I lay down, suddenly I'm wide awake. I tried warm milk, a lavender extract senct placed on the pillow (a friend suggested it), I even tried NyQuil. I haven't tried sleeping pills (I can't really afford to because I actually have to wake up at a certain time). But, also within the past 3 weeks or so, I don't get hungry. I've actually gone two days without eating, and didn't even notice until it came up in conversation with someone at work (a fast food establishment at that) when I'm trying to remember when the last time I ate was and I'm like, 2 days ago!?!?!?!? I should eat something! This is starting to scare me. I won't have time really to go see a doctor to see if it's something physical until tuesday or wednesday, so I thought I might ask some of you and see if anyone might think of some possible explination for this happening to me.

Is Kissing Instinct?
BobbyJoeCool replied to Basiumihi's topic in Anatomy, Physiology and Neuroscience
that's reproductive instinct. Human minds are different from animals in that human minds can supress their instincts and act in a more "civilized" manner. I'm sure that there would be some, if raised in isolation, that wouldn't be able to figure it out because they would try to figure it out instead of following instinct. The entire reason men are attracted to women and vise versa, is reproductive instinct. -
And I realized that the cue ball wasn't doing what I thought physics said it should. So obviously I have the physics wrong. I know that if you hit the ball slightly to the left of the center produces a spin on the ball. As you look at the ball from the point where you hit it, it spins from right to left. Now, this should make the ball go to the right of the straight line of where it's hit, right? But, it keeps going left, hits the side and then produces this weird drag on the ball. I guess I don't understand the physics of side spin on a pool ball. Can someone enlighten me?

lol. I didn't realize this *eyes shift wildly about in a psudo-guilty fashion* 73% of all statistics are made up on the spot.

this also is a POV... Gameplay/storylines are more predicatble because you're older and more experienced. Older Gamers are typically better because they've just played for so long. Take the whole Zelda series for instance. With the exception of Zelda 2, they all have the same kinds of puzzles. Light the torches to open the door. Who would think of that unless you'd played Zelda before? My point is, once you learn the tricks, beating video games gets easier and thus, the gameplay seems deminished. I've found that if you start on the harder difficulties, you find games more enjoyable. As for plot lines, all games (good games anyway) have the same basic plot line, kill the bad guy, save the good guys. How many original story lines can you get from that? Besides, how many game from the past didn't make their way into the "classics" bin? how many TOTAL games were there for original Nintendo? SNES? PS1? any of the Sega systems? How many are "good games?" Furthermore, look at their release dates. How far apart did they come out? Were there 12-30 games that are now considered "good classics" comming out every year? or was it more like 2-5. Now look at now... how many of those games you mentioned came out in the last year or two? as opposed to the others being in the past 15 years. How this helps you put things in perspective.

Yea. It is. He's saying it's evidence of ghosts, where it's more than likely just tricks of the camera. Probably mostly unintentional. Compressed doesn't mean you make the picture smaller, it just means you change the data form so that it takes up less space on a hard-drive.

oi vey. Attempting to prove to a scientific community things that cannot be proven. believe them if you will. I'll just sit back and think you're very gullible, but don't try to prove them without actually using the scientific method. Random "occurences" such as these (especially since most of them are just blurred images... like the gravestone that's a man) are not proof by far. Come up with a hypothosis, test it, gather data, and draw OBJECTIVE conclutions from said data, and reformulate a hypothosis and start all over again. EVERYTHING in those videos (especially that last one) can be explained by tricks of the camera, most of which are unintentional. Others of which are explained by a person deciding what it is, then enhancing the picture by attempting to zoom and fill in the missing pixels to make a face or a shadowy figure. Light plays funny games with cameras, video and still. Take a picture of the sun, and you notice that you don't get much besides a giant picture of bright light. But when you look at the sun it's a round yellow object! Cameras work differently than the human eye, thus things can appear in pictures that you cannot normally see. IF you wish to believe that these are ghosts, so be it. HOWEVER, please do not say that they are unless you have substantial proof of it.

ah, but there is a real part... EVERY number has a real and a non-real part, in this case a=0. so 0+(1/4)i=x whereas the common number 7 is really 7=7+0i. completely irrellevent, but interesting fact anyway.

who believes this stuff? Ancient medical equipment is proof that we were created by God? How? I don't see how they're even remotely connected. Wow. Can you say, "gullible?"
-
No. Without hesitation. Just think about it. You'd outlive your children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren. You'd get married a couple times and it's last for 50-70 years until the other person died and then go through it all again. Everyone you know would eventually pass on, and there you'd be. Not many people could deal with that kind of heartbreak, and those that could would be the loneliest people on this planet, because they would cut themselves off from society. Bottom line, immortality is a curse not a blessing. Why do you think "God" is so angry all the time.
