  1. Life begins when something can acknowledge its own existence and/or has the will to live/stay alive. -not sure if that has been said yet, kinda skipped a few pages =P because was a bit too much reading.
  2. I think it all depends on the person. Maybe through porno some "less than attractive males" would completely lose their motivation and just be content with wanking it their bathroom for the rest of their life and thus, a decrease in the birthrate. On the other hand, there are alot of phsycos our there you get stimulated and excited by pornos and go out and rape people. So there is really no certain answere because everyone is different. But examples very sad, but very true =/
  3. I suppose it depends on what dreams your talking about. Your body goes through different phases of sleep in each of which you experience dfferent dreaming. Sometimes dreams are deep rooted emotional problems, sometimes they are like a training excercise for your brain to help teach you how to respond to different situations and stuff. And in some(most) are all sorts of random information stored in your subcontious all puzzled together in the wrong order. Thats why they dont make sense most of the time and people, places, and things are all mixed up and change from one moment to the next.
  4. Fireflys? No it doesnt!!
  5. konichiwa, my name is to the left of this post. I have lots of interesting thoughts and ideas and i am strongy convinced of the fact that all that i do,feel, think, know and believe is right. Everyone else in the whole world is wrong, and after i post an answer to a question noone should ever post something there ever again. I also like playing football, riding bikes, drinking lots of alcohol, baking cakes, eating icecream, fighting, and playing online roleplaying games like Everquest and World of Warcraft.

    Physics Question

I guess its like asking, "what if you were going in a car going X mph and fired a bullet out the window ahead of you that was going at the same speed.
  7. light particles are always going the speed of light, so shouldnt time be stoped right now? or going backwards?
  8. Time doesnt exists. There is only change. Without some kind of energy transfer there is no change, hence no "time"
  9. Ok, let me rephrase all that. The brain doesnt "shut down" itsself, but since your in your subconscious your unable to really access any parts of your brain by yourself( its why you cant shout or move or whatever when you have a scary dream) including your frontal lobe which is responsible for perception, logic thought, planning etc. On the other hand the front lobe is the most active part of the brain while dreaming(but not of your own free will) therefore giving you a warped sense of reality which you accept as normal. And to the thing about hearing music while dreaming, ive had that too, but, even though i knew what i was hearing, i could not make out the exact text, the beat, or to say the least, even focus on what it was. i was standing somewhere in my dream, and all of a sudden i heard strange music, and that was that. i accepted that as reality. if i was standing out in the woods in real life and heard music, i would wonder what the hell was going on. So you really dont have logic thought. I guess every ones brain is different anyways and everyone will have different brain activity and patterns...but any dream-standing-bead-hovering-man isnt going to tell you something you dont already know. Its either a memory, something you think about and/or hope for, or a fear, or bits of many different random bits of information stored in your subconscious(which is what most dreams are). But the fact that this person has had this dream 12 years is pretty in disturbing. maybe some underlying psychic disturbance or some unresolved issue...or maybe NOTHING, just brain accessing the same patterns of information....
  10. what about the person watching the person watching the whole thing...or the person watching that person??! or maybe god?? or maybe the paparazzi watching everythin?!
  11. Most people wear sunglasses because(me included) they block the light...duh... and because they feel "cooler" with them. The same reason i wear my cool hawaiian shirt And its a natural survival instict of the brain to want to be accepted by your peers and in society. secondly, the thing about thinking people are staring at you is also a normal survival instict of the brain. for example when im sitting in the bus reading someone, and i sense out the corner of my eye that someone is turning my direction, i think immediately they are looking at me. Certain eye contact is a sign of aggression and the brains self defense part of the survival instict kicks in and you get nervous or curios if you suspect someone of staring at you.

  13. If you think about it, the color test istnt really that hard. Red,yellow, and blue pretty easy to memorize since they are the basic colors. Pretty much all pencils are yellow, and then memorizing a Red truck and a blue book isnt that difficult =()
  14. Hi, before you beat yourself up over this let me tell you that... dreams you no relivance or meaning what so ever. Theyre not magical or visions, and whatever that anoying man is trying to tell you doesnt mean anything. Because its not him telling you any thing, they are all your thoughts and memories anyways. When you sleep and dream, the brain "shuts down" most of itsself, including the part that is responsible for logic & rational thought. Which explains why noone ever thinks what is going on in thier dreams while they are dreaming is strange. I know this probably doesnt help much, and i cant tell you why you keep having the same dream over, just wanted to say that its really all just brain activity and there is no hidden meaning =P
  15. To go back to herme3 thing about the motionless body not experiencing time change, because i just put up a post about this earilier somewhere else, a motionless body doesnt mean "stading still", or being frozen and not moving, or whatever. But if every particle and atom in your body, or in some object stoped moving(which is probably impossible) time for that object would cease. There would be no movement, no energy use or transfer, and i would stop ageing. But like i said, every electron and neutron and blah blah blah of every atom would have to be stoped...
  16. Image our world as a graph. With X,Y and Z for our dimensions. Now imagine that the plane the graph is on is time. Now imagine there are some points at whatever coordinates. Moving from any one point to another would require going through time. The coordinates dont neccisarily have to be literally moving from one place to another, they could be an event, an action, whatever. e.g. point A(5,3) my heart beat, to point B (6,4) my second heart beat. to get from one to the other you must cross the plane of time, and abrakadabra, you just got older. technically if one could stop all movement, there would be no time. I dont just mean standing still, but stopping every atom & molecule from moving, and time wouldnt exist, there would be no events, nothing happening, no points on the graph!
