  1. I am not speaking of military allies, I am speaking of intelligence and law enforcement allies. We have gained Libya, one example. Also, it is pardonable for allies to leave Iraq as more and more Iraqis become more capable of handling the security situation there.
  2. I don't recall holding an election to give terrorists any authority. i'll also say that bush isn't responsible for any of the terror and if any here don't agree with me thats just tough. the constitution is the just and rightful law of the land and thats just the way it is and will always be and if you (being used generically) don't like it then war on terror on you (this you also being used generically).
  3. America is gaining allies faster than the terrorists as their cause becomes more and more desperate. The best we can do now is to live happy lives and invite others to celebrate freedom.
  4. http://www.itshappening.com made headline news when the owner of the site successfully hijacked the former site of Al-Qaeda http://www.alneda.com shortly following 9/11. The FBI and CIA have kept close watch of the site. After the hijacking, many followers of the crazed terrorist mastermind took the newly created message board to rant and rave their frustration and many have dived head in to debate the terrorists and pre-empt as well as neutralize their propaganda. Some terrorists and terrorist sympathizers such as Usamah AlQariah and FC-UK, as well as many others rant incoherently on the net calling for the death of all Americans in this no-holds-barred where the introduction to the site reads: After visiting this board for over two and a half years now, I am convinced that a Bush defeat, not a Kerry victory, would be a morale boost for the terrorist who will march on with the motto of "people agree that we are righteous" God Bless & Protect the United States
  5. Hubble is quickly becoming antiquated with ground based telescopes now becoming more useful than the Hubble. With future interferometric telescopes coming out soon, the astronomical community needs to decide if the cost of maintaining the Hubble is worth sacrificing the development of newer space-based interferometers.
  6. the only way to beat out the capitalist you don't like, is to become the capitalist that every one likes.
  7. Besides, if you're a "modern communist" you're a "begger" you are begging the "collective" to provide for you, and therefore you create two classes: "the provider" class and "the leach" class. "the provider" class will be the "capitalists" because they will have to "acquire" the resources to provide for themselves / family as well as the "leaches"
  8. overthrow the entrepeneur or the capitalist? if you attempt to overthrow the entrepeneur you will be sent to rest in hell for all of your eternally damned life. as for the capitalist, this is human. at this very moment you are being a capitalist. Perhaps not in dollars, but you seek to 'capitalize' on emotion, ideology, etc, The enemy is not "capitalist" so much as it is the values of individual capitalist. If you wish for a "reform" you might try appealing to the humanity of your "capitalist" to be a "philanthropist" and make being a "philanthropist" 'cool' and 'profitable' in some sort of way.... capitalist, of course, being an imaginary construct forced upon most americans by outsiders.... One could argue that you're being a "capitalist" right now, but most people with common sense knows that "capitalists" are "communists" and what is a communist collective but a "corporation" ? Defeating capitalism or communism is like defeating yourself. Because both are human attributes. Capitalists live communely amongst eachother. I'd say, if you can't beat them join them. In either case, they are both subordinate components of economics and the economist. Aside from that, its not a problem, giving up on your education and saying "destroy it" is the problem. You can't destroy history without destroying your own self, but you can "OUTSHINE" but you can't do that by being swallowed up by the controversy. Don't think you're going to get much help on this if your intent is to kill or make miserable someone's life because he individually chooses to be a free spirit and do things independently in his or her own way, like start a business in order to make money, so that he can build a house, contract workers to build a house, buy a car, acquire the money needed to send kids to a private school... perhaps you want people to do things for reasons other than money... well, thats why we have paper money.... perhaps one day it will be an electronic credit transaction and then, when the dream becomes reality, we'll live in Star Trek land with Replicators. I've had this debate countless times, capitalism is required in order for "civilization builders" to do what they got to do to create airplanes, hire builders, give people an incentive to jump aboard to their cause by confirming that in doing so they will be able to meet their basic needs. capitalism haters make no sense, communism haters make no sense. The only thing that makes sense is every capitalist being capitalist for the benefit of the collective. I draw a parallel to say the founding fathers who devoted their "life, fortune, etc" to the new nation. You want to be a communist, make your "capitalizing" go towards benefiting the nation. Self-proported proponents of one and not the other should each be shot, they're two sides to the same human coin. Sort of like, the Great Seal of the United States has two sides.
  9. People who try to "rescue" and "defend" Karl Marx's bad ideas. (capitalism and socialism) are doomed to failure because there is nothing redeemable about them.
  10. I'm not sure you'll ever defeat the entrepeneurial spirit. Eternal damnation to anyone who would try. Capitalism is an invented dream of Karl Marx same as Communism / Socialism. Both are the result from the flawed thinking of a "fractured" mind who's limited intelligence was blind to the unity of Economics. Thats why, any sensible entrepeneur, would be an Economist. Not a capitalist or communist or whateva. :nono:
  11. Perhaps we are also travelling backwards and this could be the cause of the "deja vu" phenomenon.
  12. http://www.sciencemag.org/cgi/content/abstract/1084528 This seems to be the Science release but I don't have an account to view it.
  13. Here is a resource article from Science Daily: http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2003/05/030519083913.htm They reference the following source as "the original news release" from the University of Maryland newsdesk here: http://www.urhome.umd.edu/newsdesk/sociss/release.cfm?ArticleID=758 Happy to be of service.
  14. nevermind that, its bad fruit. (back to the drawing board)
  15. My view would be that at the moment we created this window we might begin retrieving signals from our "future selves" which would bring into question the whole "free will" or "multi universe" things into light. How do we send signals? Well, we control the flow of matter into the window, set up a phaser to smack into our "barrier" and let entropy do its work on the particles... until their broken down into their time-travelling constituents... beginning the proces of creating the universe in the past which will continue into the future .... sci fi mode... thus solidifying the "eternal now" and the "closed self-sustaining universe" (feel free to ignore, I'm still a little groggy from this morning)
  16. Classic! Thank you, you have brought a smile to my face.
  17. I'm going to perform a "thought experiment" here. Let us assume that small objects can travel back through time. Subatomic particles for instance. Let us also consider the "Inflation Theory" Thought experiment: Imagine that you can use the rules of nature allowed by the "inflation theory" isolate a pocket of space (say on a plank scale where time travel is possible) and "inflate" the dimensions of that space without inflating the whole universe along with it.... Could that "inflated" region serve as a window for time travel, and I also assume that any object entering it (would not travel through time) but would experience the inflation effects and there would be a "barrier" that would stop you from entering it.... Only the subatomic particles that make up your body could enter it and they would suffer from thermodynamic entropy effects... But, lets just assume we can "Inflate" a region of space without "inflating" the entire universe or "Controlled Inflation of the Spacetime Continuum" I suppose "tachyons" are out of fashion nowadays eh?
  18. Just doing a recon mission, who here knows anything about Kip Thorne ?
  19. Thats assuming dave did it correctly. Roarck, I'm sure your book has a section on exact differential equations. What text are you using? I have done the problem but I am hesitant to give out the answer before you've learned the section on exact diffy q. I'm :lame: I know.
  20. Are you to imply through your refutation that it is not an exact differential equation?
  21. dy / dx = y' y'(y^2 - x^2) - 2xy = 0 Is in the form of M(x, y) + N(x, y)y' = 0 My(x, y) = -2x Nx(x, y) = -2x My = Nx --> So, we know that this is an exact differential equation.
  22. Not bad at all, just pulled up a chair and started watching the show yesterday.
  23. Hello.
